A sol–gel and phase separation method were employed to synthesize porous TiO2coating materials, which were applied to two types of transparent substrates. The coating preparation process is simple, cost-effective, and allows for the adjustment of pore structures. The study investigated the impact of the microstructure, substrate, and UV light exposure on the hydrophilic properties of the TiO2coating materials. The results indicate that the hydrophilicity of TiO2coating materials prepared with resin as the substrate is inferior to that of similar coatings prepared with glass as the substrate. Furthermore, the hydrophilic performance of glass substrates coated with porous TiO2is superior to those coated with dense TiO2. Glass substrates coated with porous TiO2exhibit superhydrophilicity after 1 h of UV light exposure. The hydrophilic mechanism of the coating material surface was analyzed using surface energy theory, capillary theory, and photo-induced hydrophilic theory.

ABSTRACTThe purposes of this study are to explore the function and regulatory mechanism of a novel lncRNA MYC-Induced Long non-coding RNA (MINCR) in osteoarthritis (OA). The expression of lncRNA MINCR, miR-146a-5p, and bone morphogenetic protein receptor 2 (BMPR2), Sry-type high-mobility-group box 9 (SOX9), collagen type II alpha 1 (COL2A1), Aggrecan, metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs-4 (ADAMTS-4), Matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP3), MMP13, COL2A1, and Aggrecan were determined using quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), western blot, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) in vitroand in vivo. And distribution and expression of MINCR were examined by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). Cell proliferation and apoptosis were detected by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay, 5-Ethynyl-2’-deoxyuridine (EdU) staining, Annexin V-FITC/Propidium Iodide (PI), and Terminal Deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP Nick-End Labeling (TUNEL) staining in vitroand in vivo. The anterior cruciate ligament transection (ACLT) rat model was constructed to analyze the MINCR/miR-146a-5p/BMPR2 axis in vivo. The cartilage degeneration was determined by pathological staining with Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) and Safranin O staining. The binding relationship between MINCR and miR-146a-5p, and between miR-146a-5p and BMPR2 were determined by a dual-luciferase reporter gene, RNA Immunoprecipitation (RIP) assay, and RNA-pull down assays. Here, MINCR and BMPR2 were downregulated whereas miR-146a-5p was upregulated in OA cartilage tissues compared with control as well as IL-1β-induced chondrocytes compared with normal chondrocytes. Function experiments indicated that MINCR upregulation promoted cell proliferation and inhibited apoptosis and extracellular matrix (ECM)-degeneration. We also proved the binding relationship between MINCR and miR-146a-5p, and the BMPR2 acted as a target of miR-146a-5p. Mechanism analysis using rescue experiments in vitroand in vivo, MINCR silencing reversed the effects of miR-146a-5p downregulation in OA. Overexpression of miR-146a-5p also reversed the function of BMPR2 overexpression in OA. These data indicated that MINCR prevented OA progression via targeting miR-146a-5p to promote BMPR2 expression.

ABSTRACTMiRNAs are a class of small non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) responsible for post-transcriptional regulation of target genes. Accumulating evidence indicates that miRNAs are implicated in the progression of cardiac hypertrophy. Therefore, understanding the molecular mechanisms how these miRNAs regulate cardiac hypertrophy is useful for diagnosis and monitoring of disease progression. In this study, to investigate the effect of miR-27a-3p, we established an in vitrocardiac hypertrophy model by treating H9c2 cardiomyocytes with angiotensin II (Ang II) and an in vivomodel through the chronic infusion of Ang II into mice. As revealed by our experimental results, miR-27a-3p expression was significantly increased in clinical samples, animal and cell models of cardiac hypertrophy. Inhibiting miR-27a-3p mitigated cardiac hypertrophy phenotype induced by Ang II. Additionally, our work identified NOVA1 (neuro-oncological ventral antigen 1) as a downstream target of miR-27a-3p. miR-27a-3p overexpression reduced NOVA1 protein level and mRNA expression. Consistently, NOVA1 silencing promoted cardiac hypertrophy phenotype induced by Ang II. In summary, these results suggest that the upregulation of miR-27a-3p may serve as a diagnostic factor for cardiac hypertrophy, and miR-27a-3p upregulation promotes cardiac hypertrophy by targeting NOVA1.

The aim of this study is to investigate the application performance of rapid copy number variation sequencing (rCNV-seq) technology for the detection of chromosomal abnormalities during prenatal diagnosis. Samples were collected from 424 pregnant women who were at high-risk for noninvasive prenatal screening in Kunming Maternal and Child Care Hospital from January 2018 to May 2022. rCNV-seq technique was used to detect fetal chromosome abnormalities and compare the results with that of chromosomal karyotype analysis. The Result showed that 330 (77.83%, 330/424) cases indicated chromosomal abnormalities among 424 high-risk pregnant women who underwent rCNV-seq. Moreover, 94 (22.17%, 94/424) cases were discovered to have copy number variations. Among the 330 fetuses with chromosomal abnormalities, common autosomal aneuploidy was observed in 203 cases (47.87%, 203/424) and sex chromosome aneuploidy was observed in 91 cases (21.46%, 91/424). Moreover, the abnormalities in multiple chromosomes were discovered in 33 cases (7.78%, 33/424), and the rare autosomal aneuploidy was observed in 3 cases (0.71%, 3/424). There were 63 fetuses (14.86%, 63/424) with pathogenic CNVs among the 94 fetuses with variable copy numbers. Of the 245 pregnant women who voluntarily selected G-band karyotyping, 1 fetus with copy number variation had normal karyotype results, and the remaining women were consistent with rCNV-seq. Our study revealed that rCNV-seq has higher accuracy in detecting common trisomy and can also detect chromosomal microdeletions or microduplications that cannot be detected by G-banding karyotype analysis. There is no effective treatment for chromosomal diseases, so it is particularly important to prevent chromosomal diseases through genetic counseling and prenatal diagnosis of chromosomal diseases.

Steel containers used for geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste will be gradually thinned or even perforated due to corrosion, which will lead to radiolysis of nuclides when they contact with infiltrated groundwater and produce H2O2. This work focused on investigating the influence of H2O2concentration (0%, 0.001%, 0.01%, 0.1% and 1% by volume) on the corrosion behavior of NiCu low alloy steel as the candidate material for containers was comparatively studied by combining corrosion weight loss test, corrosion product analysis, morphology characterization, thermodynamic analysis and electrochemical measurements. As [H2O2] = 0.001%, H2O2inhibited the formation of γ-FeOOH and enhanced the compactness of rust layer, which effectively blocked the migration of aggressive ions and slowed down the cathodic reduction reaction of rust, thus improving the corrosion resistance of NiCu steel. With the increase of [H2O2] (0.01%→1%), the cathodic process of NiCu steel corrosion was promoted by the increase of dissolved oxygen involved in cathodic depolarization. Meanwhile, the relative content of Fe3O4in the rust increased, while Fe6(OH)12SO4and Fe6(OH)12CO3decreased obviously, which led to the loose and porous rust layer, thus accelerating the corrosion of NiCu steel.

The carboxy-terminated Fe3O4@polyamidoamine nanocomposites (Fe3O4@PDA@PAMAM-COOH) were successfully synthesized. The adsorption and reusability of obtained Fe3O4@PDA@PAMAM-COOH for Cu(II), Pb(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) were investigated briefly. The obtained Fe3O4@PDA@PAMAM-COOH have adsorption capacities as high as 199.2, 314.5, 177.6 and 228.8 mg·g-1for Cu(II), Pb(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) obtained at pH = 7, 7, 8 and 8, respectively. All the adsorption processes are in conformity with pseudo-second-order kinetics and the Langmuir isotherm model. Numerous studies have reported that temporal order perception is biased in neurological patients with extinction and neglect. These individuals tend to perceive two objectively simultaneous stimuli as occurring asynchronously, with the ipsilesional item being perceived as appearing prior to the contralesional item. Likewise, they report that two stimuli occurred simultaneously in situations where the contralesional item is presented substantially prior to the ipsilesional item. Therefore, they exhibit a biased point of subjective simultaneity (PSS). Here we demonstrate that the magnitude of this effect is modulated by the relative position of the stimuli with respect to the patient's trunk. This effect was only observed in patients who still exhibited neglect symptoms, and neither the pathological bias nor substantial modulation were observed in individuals who had recovered from neglect, those who never had neglect or neurologically healthy controls. Crucially, our design kept the retinal and head-centered coordinates of these stimuli constant, providing a pure measure for the influence of egocentric trunk position. This finding emphasizes the interaction of egocentric spatial position on the temporal symptoms observed in these individuals.

This consensus statement is organized into six parts: 1) Definitions: cancer-related depressed mood state is defined as a group of depressive symptoms, rather than major depressive disorder. Thus, “cancer-related depression” or “depressed mood state” is introduced as standard terminology and associated with the Chinese medicine concept of “yu zheng” (depression syndrome). 2) Pathogenesis: factors including psychological stress, cancer pain, cancer fatigue, sleep disorders, surgery trauma, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy are strongly associated with cancer-related depressed mood state. Crucial elements of pathogenesis are cancer caused by depression, depression caused by cancer, and the concurrence of phlegm, dampness, and stasis from constrained liver-qiand spleen deficiency. 3) Symptoms: these include core symptoms, psychological symptoms, and somatic symptoms. Depressed mood and loss of interest are the main criteria for diagnosis. 4) Clinical evaluation: based on the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview and a numeric rating scale, and taking mood changes during cancer diagnosis and treatment into consideration, a questionnaire can be drafted to distinguish between major depressive disorder and cancer-related depression. The aim is to assist oncology clinicians to identify, treat, and refer patients with cancer-related depression. 5) Diagnosis: diagnosis should be based on the Chinese Classification for Mental Disorders (CCMD-3), taking patients' mood changes during diagnosis and treatment into consideration. 6) Treatment: treatments for cancer-related depression must be performed concurrently with cancer treatment. For mild depression, non-pharmacologic comprehensive therapies, including psychological intervention, music therapy, patient education, physical activity, and acupuncture, are recommended; for moderate depression, classical Chinese herbal formulas based on syndrome pattern differentiation combined with antidepressants are suggested; for severe depressive symptoms that have progressed to major depressive disorder, patients should be referred to a psychiatric clinician for specialized care.

The brain transforms sensory input to motor coordinates to accommodate for changes of posture and gaze direction. Neurophysiological and neuropsychological evidence supports the existence of multiple representations of space. A debated issue regards whether objects that we see are encoded in egocentric frames only or also maintain an object-centered frame of reference. Previous clinical studies were unable to discriminate between these models as the stimuli used to determine object-based (allocentric) biases are contaminated by body-centered (egocentric) effects. To address this, we used stimuli where allocentric side was elicited by gestalt configuration rather than egocentric location. We then displayed these stimuli at different egocentric positions allowing us to independently measure the effects of allocentric position, egocentric position as well as their interaction. In a group of stroke patients with neglect we demonstrate that allocentric biases are modulated as a function of egocentric position. These findings help adjudicate between the different models of space representation, demonstrating that specific allocentric deficits not only exist but also often co-exist with egocentric biases.

Abstract: Efficient white-polymer-light-emitting devices (WPLEDs) have been fabricated with a single emitting layer containing a hole-transporting host polymer, poly(N-vinylcarbzole), and an electron-transporting auxiliary, 1,3-bis[(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazolyl]-phenylene, codoped with two phosphorescent dyes: Iridium(III)bis (2-(4,6-difluorophenyl)-pyridinato-N,C2′) picolinate (FIrpic) and home-made Ir-G2 for blue and red emission, respectively. With the structure of ITO/PEDOT:PSS 4083(40 nm)/emission layer(80 nm)/Ba(4 nm)/Al(120 nm), the device showed a maximal luminous efficiency (LE) of 13.5 cd A−1(corresponding to an external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 6.8%), and a peak power efficiency (PE) of 6.5 lm W−1 at 6.0 V. Meanwhile, the device exhibited pure white emission with Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.34, 0.35) at a current density of 12 mA cm−2, which is very close to the equi-energy white point with CIE coordinates of (0.33, 0.33). The device performance can be further optimized when more balanced hole/electron injection is achieved by incorporating a lower conducting type anode buffer layer (PEDOT:PSS) and incorporating poly[(9,9-bis(3′-(N,N-dimethylamino) propyl)-2,7-fluorenene)-alt-2,7-(9,9-dioctyfluorene)] (PFN) as an electron injection layer at the cathode. The optimized device showed an LE of 24.6 cd A−1 (with an EQE of 14.1%), while the peak power efficiency reached 12.66 lm W−1. Moreover, the WPLEDs showed good electroluminescence (EL) stability over a wide range of operating current density and luminance.

Summary: Novel readily soluble random low-band-gap conjugated copolymers (PFO–DTTP, Eg ≈ 1.77–2.00 eV) derived from 9,9-dioctylfluorene (DOF) and 2,3-dimethyl‐5,7‐dithien‐2‐yl‐thieno[3,4‐b]pyrazine (DTTP) were prepared. The solutions and the solid thin films of the copolymers absorbed light from 300–690 nm. Prototype photovoltaic cells from solid state composite films with the copolymer PFO–DTTP30 and [6,6]‐phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) showed power conversion efficiencies up to 0.83% under an AM1.5 solar simulator (100 mW · cm−2). For electroluminescent devices, the emission peaks were around 734–780 nm. This indicates that the low band gap copolymers are promising materials for polymeric solar cells and deep red/near infrared light‐emitting diodes.Synthesis of novel low-band-gap fluorene-based copolymer.
