Digital manufacturing technology meets the needs of today’s technological development. However, the post-processing is essential for some digital fabrication methods, such as annealing and ultraviolet (UV) exposure. Femtosecond laser direct writing (FsLDW) has gained considerable attention, because it is a non-photolithographic, non-vacuum, and no heat fabrication method. The photodetectors based on a semiconductor microwire were fabricated via FsLDW. Finally, the responsivity of the fabricated photodetectors based on zinc oxide (ZnO), titanium dioxide (TiO_2), and tin oxide (SnO_2) can reach 14.27, 1.3, and 81 A/W, respectively. The enhanced performance is attributed to the rough and porous surface of ZnO, TiO_2, and SnO_2 microwires. The whole preparation process is realized by the programmed control femtosecond laser scanning path. This Letter demonstrates that the fabrication method has potential in the digital manufacturing of high-performance UV photodetectors.

Recently, CO2conversion by electrochemical tool into value-added chemicals has been considered as one of the most promising strategies to offer sustainable development in energy and environment. In this contribution, we investigated electro-derived composites from Cu-based layered double hydroxide (LDH) for CO2electrochemical reduction. The Cu-Cu2O based nanocomposite (HPR-LDH) were derived by using electro-strategy from LDH having the stability up to 20 h and selectivity toward C2H4with faraday efficiency up to 36% by significantly suppressing CH4and H2with respect to bulk Cu foil. A highly negative reduction potential derived catalyst (HPR-LDH) maintained long-term stability for the selective production of ethylene over methane, and a small amount of Cu2O was still observed on the catalyst surface after CO2reduction reaction (CO2RR). Moreover, such unique strategy for electro-derived composite from LDH having small nanoparticles stacked each other grown on layered structure, would provide new insight to improve durability of OCu combination catalysts for CC coupling products during electrochemical CO2conversion by suppressing HER. The XRD, SEM, ESR, and XPS analyses confirmed that the long-term ethylene selectivity of HPR-LDH is due to the presence of subsurface oxygen. The designed composite catalyst significantly enhances the stability and selectivity, and also decreases the over potential for CO2electro-reduction. We predict that the new designed LDH 2D-derived composites may attract new insight for transition metal and may open up a new direction for known structural properties of selective catalyst synthesis regarding effective CO2reduction reaction.

The investigation of correlations between radiomic and genomic profiling in breast cancer (BC) molecular subtypes is crucial for understanding disease mechanisms and providing personalized treatment. We present a well-designed radiogenomic framework— image-gene-gene set (IMAGGS), which detects multi-way associations in BC subtypes by integrating radiomic and genomic features. Our dataset consists of 721 patients, each of whom has 12 ultrasound (US) images captured from different angles and gene mutation data. To better characterize tumor traits, 12 multi-angle US images are fused using two distinct strategies. Then, we analyze complex many-to-many associations between phenotypic and genotypic features using a machine learning algorithm, deviating from the prevalent one-to-one relationship pattern observed in previous studies. Key radiomic and genomic features are screened using these associations. In addition, gene set enrichment analysis is performed to investigate the joint effects of gene sets and delve deeper into the biological functions of BC subtypes. We further validate the feasibility of IMAGGS in a glioblastoma multiforme dataset to demonstrate the scalability of IMAGGS across different modalities and diseases. Taken together, IMAGGS provides a comprehensive characterization for diseases by associating imaging, genes, and gene sets, paving the way for biological interpretation of radiomics and development of targeted therapy.

In this work, water electrolysis over α-MoO3and h-MoO3are investigated, and methylene blue (MB) and urea are added to further improve the electrocatalytic activity. α-MoO3shows a higher activity than h-MoO3for water electrolysis, which is mainly ascribed to Jahn-Teller effect of α-MoO3. When adding urea and MB, the anodic current densities of α-MoO3reach 310.98 and 403.72 mA cm-2at 393 mV, which are 5.2 and 7.1 times higher than that (50.08 mA cm-2) in KOH electrolyte solution, respectively. It is proposed that the anodic oxidations of MB and urea are easier than water oxidation, thus increasing the anodic current greatly. Most importantly, the overpotential of hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is also decreased obviously by MB and urea. At 40 mA cm-2, the cell voltages of urea/KOH (1.611 V) and MB/KOH (1.597 V) systems have decreased by 16.53% and 17.56%, compared to KOH system (1.93 V), respectively. It is seen the system is energy-saving obviously. The innovative design can not only efficiently produce hydrogen, but also can degrade environmental pollutants concurrently.

Nitrogen photoreduction is a promising ammonia production technology since it can be carried out at the atmospheric pressure by merely utilizing the abundant solar energy. However, the low conversion efficiency is still a big challenge for practical applications. In this work, Bi-decorated g-C3N4nanosheets are successfully prepared by an in situsolvothermal method. The ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflection spectrum shows that Bi decoration conspicuously enhances the visible light absorption because of the surface plasmon resonance effect of the Bi semimetal. Moreover, the photoluminescence spectrum demonstrates that Bi decoration greatly improves the charge separation efficiency because the high work function of Bi (4.5 eV) favors electron transfer from the conduction band of g-C3N4to the Bi surface. Meanwhile, nitrogen sorption isotherms show that Bi decoration obviously increases the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area (4.3 m2g–1for g-C3N4vs7.7–8.4 m2g–1for Bi/g-C3N4), which is beneficial for N2adsorption. Additionally, the density functional theory calculation shows that the adsorption energy (Ead) of N2on Bi/g-C3N4(−2.3 eV) is 6.2 times higher than that on g-C3N4(−0.3 eV), which indicates that N2is easier to adsorb on Bi/g-C3N4thermodynamically. It is assumed that the decorated Bi can also provide new active sites that significantly improve the adsorption and activation of N2. Therefore, Bi/g-C3N4exhibits a high nitrogen photoreduction activity under visible light irradiation (λ > 420 nm): the ammonia yield over 30-Bi/g-C3N4(3075 μmol L–1g–1) is 1.8 times higher than that over g-C3N4(1076 μmol L–1g–1) and the ammonia production rate over 30-Bi/g-C3N4(1025 μmol L–1g–1h–1) is 1.8 times higher than that over g-C3N4(359 μmol L–1g–1h–1). The improved activity is mainly attributed to the Bi decoration on the g-C3N4surface, which improves the adsorption and activation of N2, the electron–hole separation efficiency, and the light-harvesting ability. This work demonstrates that similar to precious metals, Bi semimetal can also greatly improve the nitrogen photoreduction activity. Most importantly, Bi semimetal is more abundant and cheaper than precious metals, and it could be more promising for practical applications.
