The live-attenuated influenza virus vector-based intranasal SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (dNS1-RBD, Pneucolin; Beijing Wantai Biological Pharmacy Enterprise, Beijing, China) confers long-lasting and broad protection in animal models and is, to our knowledge, the first COVID-19 mucosal vaccine to enter into human trials, but its efficacy is still unknown. We aimed to assess the safety and efficacy (but not the immunogenicity) of dNS1-RBD against COVID-19.

Because the accurate and rapid detection of antibiotics and pH plays an important role in biological systems and environmental fields, developing suitable and efficient sensors that can simultaneously detect antibiotics and pH has become important. In this work, we successfully designed and synthesized two new one-dimensional coordination polymers based on the mixed ligands L [N,N′-bis(4-methylpyridin-4-yl)-2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylamide] and H2CPG [3-(4-chlorophenyl)glutaric acid], [M(L)(HCPG)2(H2O)2] (M = Co for CP 1, and M = Ni for CP 2), which were structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis. CP 1and CP 2can be used as ultraversatile fluorescent sensors, which can sense erythromycin (ERY) and oxacillin (OXC) by turn-on fluorescent enhancement and detect furaltadone (FTD) via the turn-off fluorescent quenching effect, separately. The concentration ranges of different analytes sensed by CPs 1and 2were 0–0.046 and 0–0.069 mM for ERY, 0–0.04 and 0–0.028 mM for OXC, and 0–0.155 and 0–0.019 mM for FTD, respectively. Moreover, CP 2can effectively sense pH, in both a wide pH range and the fine physiological range. The sensors have a rapid luminescence response, good recyclability, and excellent fluorescence stability. More importantly, they not only represent the first example of detecting ERY or OXC based on fluorescent CPs but also are the very rare ultraversatile fluorescent sensors. The fluorescent sensing mechanism for antibiotics and pH was discussed in detail.

ABSTRACTBackgroundThere are minimal data on the relationship between DII and MCI in an elderly Chinese population and no research has assessed the potential effect of LTL.ObjectiveWe investigated the association between DII and MCI while taking into account the potential effect of LTL.MethodsThis cross-sectional study included 3,386 participants aged ≥ 60 years of age from the Tianjin Elderly Nutrition and Cognition Cohort study. DII score was constructed based on a validated self-administered food frequency questionnaire was calculated based on the method developed by Shivappa et al. LTL was measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the association between DII, LTL and MCI. Moreover, mediation analysis was employed to test the mediation effect of LTL on the total effect of DII on MCI.ResultsCompared with the participants in the lowest tertiles of LTL and DII score, the odds ratios (ORs) of MCI in the highest tertiles were 0.386(95% CI: 0.281-0.529) and 1.650 (95% CI: 1.232-2.209), respectively. The significant association between DII score and MCI persisted after further adjusting for LTL (OR: 1.595; 95% CI: 1.189-2.140). The link between DII score and MCI was mediated partially by LTL (βindirect effect= -0.008, P<0.05).ConclusionHigh DII score was positively associated with MCI prevalence in an elderly Chinese population and the link between DII scores and MCI seemed to be mediated partially by LTL.

In this paper, three new polyoxometalates (POM)-based metal–organic complexes constructed from a new semi-rigid organic ligand N,N'-bis(4-pyrimidinecarboxamido)-1,2-cyclohexane (4-bpmah) H2[Cu(4-bpmah)2(SiMo12O40)(H2O)2]·2H2O (1), H[Cu(4-bpmah)2(PMo12O40)(H2O)2]·2H2O (2) and [Cu(4-bpmah)(H2O)2]·[Cu2(TeMo6O24)(H2O)10]·4H2O (3) were synthesized by hydrothermal method. Single crystal X-ray analyses showed that complexes 1and 2were isostructural, in which the isolated Keggin-type [SiMo12O40]4–/[PMo12O40]3–anions and [Cu(4-bpmah)2(H2O)2]2n+units were expanded into 3D supramolecular structures through hydrogen bond interactions. In complex 3, the 1D [Cu(4-bpmah)(H2O)2]2n+metal–organic chains and isolated [Cu2(TeMo6O24)(H2O)10]2n–units were expanded into a 3D supramolecular framework by the hydrogen bond interactions. In this paper, carbon cloth working electrodes composited by the title complexes (1/CC, 2/CC and 3/CC) were prepared and used as electrodes for supercapacitors. The performance of supercapacitors as well as the influence of electrolyte solution and title complexes quality load on the performance of supercapacitors were studied. Furthermore, the electrochemistry and electrocatalytic behaviors of complexes 1–3bulk-modified carbon paste electrodes (1-CPE, 2-CPE and 3-CPE) toward the reduction of KBrO3, KNO2, Cr(VI), as well as their sensing behaviors on Cr(VI) were investigated.

ABSTRACTBackgroundHomocysteine (Hcy) and folate, involved in a common metabolic pathway supplying essential methyl groups for DNA and protein synthesis, have been found to be associated with cognitive function. Moreover, diet may influence methionine cycle metabolites (MCM) as well as mild cognitive impairment (MCI), but MCM-related dietary patterns are unclear in an older population.ObjectiveThe study aimed to identify MCM-related dietary patterns of older Chinese adults, and examine their association with the prevalence of MCI in a large population-based study.MethodsThis study included 4457 participants ≥ 60 years of age from the Tianjin Elderly Nutrition and Cognition Cohort study. Dietary data were collected using a valid self-administered food frequency questionnaire, and factor analysis was used to identify major dietary patterns in the population. MCM-based dietary patterns were derived using reduced rank regression (RRR) based on serum folate and Hcy as response variables.ResultsCompared with the participants in the lowest quartile of vegetarian pattern and processed foods pattern, the odds ratios (ORs) of MCI in the highest quartile were 0.72 (95% CI 0.53–0.98) and 1.39 (95% CI 1.03–1.88), respectively. In the MCM-based dietary patterns derived using RRR, the ORs for MCI for the highest quartile of MCM patterns I and II were 0.58 (95% CI 0.44–0.78) and 1.38 (95% CI 1.04–1.83), respectively, compared with participants in the lower quartile.ConclusionsFindings from this large population-based study suggested that adopting an MCM-related dietary pattern, especially avoiding processed foods, can decrease the occurrence of MCI.

The low phosphorus (P) availability of acidic soils severely limits leguminous plant growth and productivity. Improving the soil P nutritional status can be achieved by increasing the P-content through P-fertilization or stimulating the mineralization of organic P via arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) application; however, their corresponding impacts on plant and soil microbiome still remain to be explored. Here, we examined the effects of AMF-inoculation and P-fertilization on the growth of soybean with different P-efficiencies, as well as the composition of rhizo-microbiome in an acidic soil. The growth of recipient soybean NY-1001, which has a lower P-efficiency, was not significantly enhanced by AMF-inoculation or P-fertilization. However, the plant biomass of higher P-efficiency transgenic soybean PT6 was significantly increased by 46.74%–65.22% through AMF-inoculation. Although there was no discernible difference in plant biomass between PT6 and NY-1001 in the absence of AMF-inoculation and P-fertilization, PT6 had approximately 1.9–2.5 times the plant biomass of NY-1001 after AMF-inoculation. Therefore, the growth advantage of higher P-efficiency soybean was achieved through the assistance of AMF rather than P-fertilization in available P-deficient acidic soil. Most nitrogen (N)-fixing bacteria and some functional genes related to N-fixation were abundant in endospheric layer, as were the P-solubilizing Pseudomonas plecoglossicida, and annotated P-metabolism genes. These N-fixing and P-solubilizing bacteria were positive correlated with each other. Lastly, the two most abundant phytopathogenic fungi species accumulated in endospheric layer, they exhibited positive correlations with N-fixing bacteria, but displayed negative interactions with the majority of the other dominant non-pathogenic genera with potential antagonistic activity.

Two novel polyoxometalates (POMs)-based metal–organic complexes (MOCs) [Co3(4-H2dpye)(MnMo9O32)(H2O)10]·H2O (1) and [Co3(4-H2dpyb)(MnMo9O32)(H2O)12]·4H2O (2) have been designed and synthesized under hydrothermal conditions by introducing the chiral Waugh-type [MnMo9O32]6–into the transition metal cobalt–bis(pyrimidine)–bis(amide) systems. Single crystal X-ray diffraction shows that 1and 2are racemic complexes containing both left-handed and right-handed [MnMo9O32]6–polyoxometalate anions. In complex 1, the chiral [MnMo9O32]6–anions are coordinated to the [Co3(4-H2dpye)(H2O)10]n6n+metal–organic units to build a 2D layered structure containing the left- and right-handed [MnMo9O32]6–-based chains. While complex 2consists of a 1D metal–organic chain [Co3(4-H2dpyb)(H2O)12]n6n+and the isolated [MnMo9O32]6–anions. Complexes 1and 2can be expanded into the racemic 3D supramolecular frameworks through extensive hydrogen bonding interactions. Complexes 1and 2can be used as high-efficiency heterogeneous catalysts for the oxidation of methyl phenyl sulfide (MBT). The effects of reaction solvent, temperature, amount of catalysts, and oxidant on the catalytic performance of MBT oxidation reaction were investigated. In addition, complexes 1and 2can be used as versatile and efficient catalysts for thioether oxidation. Importantly, Waugh-type [MnMo9O32]6–-based MOCs as oxidative desulfurization catalysts have rarely been reported.

Mobile marketing has become an effective medium for advertisers. Effective mobile advertising could greatly improve customers purchase intention in this context. This study focuses on the prevailing form of mobile advertising, i.e., SMS advertising. Based on the theory of planned behavior, the authors explore the influence of SMS advertising on the consumer behavior in China. Participants are Chinese students and office workers. The results indicate that (a) the perceived infotainment and credibility have a positive significant effect on consumer attitudes, whereas irritation has a negative significant effect on consumer attitudes; (b) attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control have significant effects on the intention to use; (c) attitudes also mediate the relationship between subjective norms and intention to use; and (d) men and women pursue different paths to influence the intention to use. Background: Recent findings suggest a possible role of diet, particularly nutrient intakes and dietary patterns, in the prevalence of mild cognitive impairment (MCI); few studies, however, have been explicitly devoted to the relationship between dietary habits and MCI. Objectives: We aimed to explore the association between dietary habits, including meal timing, and MCI among older Chinese adults. Methods: This cross-sectional study involved data collected at the baseline of the Tianjin Elderly Nutrition and Cognition Cohort (TENCC) study, in which 3,111 community-dwelling older adults (326 MCI patients and 2,785 non-MCIs) from a rural area of Tianjin, China, were recruited. In March 2018 to June 2019, all participants underwent a detailed neuropsychological evaluation that allowed for psychometric MCI classification. Information on self-reported dietary behaviors was gathered via face-to-face interviews. Crude and multivariable-adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated using logistic regression models. Results: In the multivariable-adjusted models, eating breakfast 4 to 6 times per week (vs. ≤3 times per week, OR: 0.45; 95% CI: 0.26, 0.75), drinking water before breakfast (yes vs. no, OR: 0.64; 95% CI: 0.51, 0.82), consuming water ≥1.5L per day (vs. <1.5L per day, OR: 0.64; 95% CI: 0.51, 0.82), and having lunch after 12:00 (vs. before 12:00, OR: 0.59; 95% CI: 0.47, 0.75) were associated with decreased risk of MCI. Participants who consumed higher amounts of cooking oil were at a higher risk of MCI (moderate vs. low, OR: 1.42; 95% CI: 1.04, 1.92; high vs. low, OR: 1.40; 95% CI: 1.07-1.83). Conclusion : This study suggests that dietary habits, including breakfast frequency, daily water consumption, cooking oil consumption, and meal timing, may be associated with the risk of MCI. If replicated, these findings would open new possibilities of dietary interventions for MCI.

Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified numerous genetic variants that are associated with lung cancer risk, but the biological mechanisms underlying these associations remain largely unknown. Here we investigated the functional relevance of a genetic region in 6q22.2 which was identified to be associated with lung cancer risk in our previous GWAS. We performed linkage disequilibrium (LD) analysis and bioinformatic prediction to screen functional SNPs linked to a tagSNP in 6q22.2 loci, followed by two case-control studies and a meta-analysis with 4403 cases and 5336 controls to identify if these functional SNPs were associated with lung cancer risk. A novel SNP rs17079281 in the DCBLD1promoter was identified to be associated with lung cancer risk in Chinese populations. Compared with those with C allele, patients with T allele had lower risk of adenocarcinoma (adjusted OR = 0.86; 95% CI: 0.80–0.92), but not squamous cell carcinoma (adjusted OR = 0.99; 95% CI: 0.91–1.10), and patients with the C/T or T/T genotype had lower levels of DCBLD1expression than those with C/C genotype in lung adenocarcinoma tissues. We performed functional assays to characterize its biological relevance. The results showed that the T allele of rs17079281 had higher binding affinity to transcription factor YY1 than the C allele, which suppressed DCBLD1 expression. DCBLD1 behaved like an oncogene, promoting tumor growth by influencing cell cycle progression. These findings suggest that the functional variant rs17079281C>T decreased lung adenocarcinoma risk by creating an YY1-binding site to suppress DCBLD1 expression, which may serve as a biomarker for assessing lung cancer susceptibility.

Background: β-Site APP-cleaving enzyme 1 (BACE1) is a key enzyme involved in the pathophysiology of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). We aimed to investigate the potential associations of plasma BACE1 levels and BACE1 gene polymorphism with different cognitive performances in T2DM patients with MCI. Methods: The recruited 186 T2DM subjects were divided into 92 MCI group and 94 healthy-cognition controls, according to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) scores. Sociodemographic characteristics, clinical parameters and neuropsychological tests were assessed. BACE1 C786G gene polymorphism and plasma BACE1 level were determined. Results: Compared to controls, MCI patients exhibited higher plasma BACE1 levels. Plasma BACE1 levels were negatively associated with MoCA, Clock Drawing Test and Logical Memory Test scores, whereas positively associated with Trail Making Test-B time in the MCI group (all p<0.05), after adjusting fasting blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance by C-peptide. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed a significant trend towards increased MCI risk with high plasma BACE1 level in T2DM patients (OR = 1.492, p = 0.027). The plasma BACE1 levels of GG and GC genotypes were obviously higher than that of CC genotype in T2DM-MCI patients (p = 0.035; p = 0.026, respectively). Conclusion: Increased plasma BACE1 levels were associated with poor overall cognition functions, especially visuospatial abilities, visual/logical memory and executive functions in T2DM-MCI patients. Additionally, elevated plasma BACE1 level was a risk factor for MCI in T2DM patients, and might be influenced by BACE1 C786G gene mutations.

We synthesized three new Ni(II) coordination polymers [Ni(L)(HIP)(H2O)2]H2O(CP1), [Ni(L)(NIP)]·2H2O(CP2) and [Ni(L)(NDC)(H2O)2](CP3)[L=N,N'-bis(pyridine-3-yl)thiophene-2,5-dicarboxamide, H2HIP=5-hydroxyisophthalic acid, H2NIP=5-nitroisophthalic acid, H2NDC=2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid] by hydrothermal method, which were characterized by means of infrared spectra(IR), TG analyses, PXRD and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The CP1is a 1D tubular structure based on [Ni-HIP]2loops and pairs of L ligands. CP2is a 2D 3,5-connected architecture, which consists of Ni-L linear chains and (Ni-NIP)2double chains. CP3is a 2D network, which features 4-connected topology. Solid-state luminescent behaviours of CP1—CP3were investigated. The CP1can detect Fe3+ions through luminescence quenching. The electrochemical properties of CP1buk-modified carbon paste electrode(CP1-CPE) has also been investigated, which has bifunctional electrocatalytic activity for oxidation of ascorbic acid and reduction of NO2−.

Background and Objective: D-dimer prompts fibrinolysis system, which is involved in Alzheimer’s disease and the complications of type 2 diabetic patients, especially among those with carotid artery plaques. Hence, this study aims to investigate the role of D-dimer in early cognitive impairment among type 2 diabetic patients with carotid artery plaques. Methods: A total of 175 Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes were recruited and divided into two groups according to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment score. Demographic data were collected, plasma D-dimer was tested through VIDAS D-dimer New, neuropsychological tests were examined, and carotid artery plaques were detected by ultrasound and further stratified by vulnerability and level. Results: A total of 67 types 2 diabetic patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) displayed significantly increased plasma D-dimer levels compared with their health-cognition controls (p = 0.011). Plasma D-dimer concentration was negatively related with Digit Span Test scores in diabetic patients with vulnerable plaques (r=-0.471, p=0.023) and Stroop Color Word Test C (number) in diabetic patients with stable plaques (r=-0.482, p<0.001). Multivariable regression analysis further showed that D-dimer concentration was an independent factor of diabetic MCI with carotid artery plaque (p=0.005), and D-dimer concentration especially contributed to the high risk of MCI with vulnerable plaques (p=0.028) or high levels of carotid plaque (p=0.023). Conclusion: Elevated D-dimer level predicts the high risk of early cognitive impairment in type 2 diabetic patients with carotid artery plaques, especially vulnerable plaques or high levels of carotid plaques.

The dioxygen activation catalyzed by 4-hydorxylphenyl pyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) were reinvestigated by using hybrid quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) approaches at the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p):AMBER level. These studies showed that this reaction consisted of two steps including the dioxygen addition/decarboxylation and hetero OO bond cleavage, where the first step was found to be rate-determining. The former step initially runs on a septet potential energy surface (PES), then switches to a quintet PES after crossing a septet/quintet minimum energy crossing point (MECP) 5-7M2, whereas the rest step runs on the quintet PES. The reliability of our theoretical predictions is supported by the excellent agreement of the calculated free-energy barrier value of 16.9 kcal/mol with available experimental value of 16–17 kcal/mol. The present study challenges the widely accepted view which holds that the O2activation catalyzed by α-keto glutamate (α-KG) dioxygenase mainly runs on the quintet PES and provides new insight into the catalytic mechanism of α-KG dioxygenase and/or other related Fe(II)-dependent oxygenase.

A novel polyoxometalate-based hybrid modified by 3d-4d/2-ptz heterometallic organic chains[n-ptz= 5-(n-pyridyl)-tetrazolate], Ag2[Cu(2-ptz)2][β-Mo8O26]0.5·H2O(1)[2-ptz=5-(2-pyridyl)-tetrazolate], was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The 3D framework structure of compound 1was constructed from 1D novel 3d-4dheterometallic organic chains [CuAg2(2-ptz)2]2+as cationic complexes and [β-Mo8O26]4–polyoxoanions viaCu―O and Ag―O bonds, in which each [β-Mo8O26]4–polyoxoanion was surrounded by six such chains. The electrochemical and photocatalytic properties of compound 1 were investigated.

Cancer is a major disease threatening human health worldwide, among which non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most deadly. Clinically, almost all anticancer drugs eventually fail to consistently benefit patients due to serious drug resistance. AKT is a key effector of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, which is closely related to the occurrence, development, and drug resistance of tumors. Herein, we first designed and synthesized 20 kinds of novel hybrid molecules targeting both tubulin and AKT based on a podophyllotoxin (PPT) skeleton through computer-aided drug design. By CCK8 assay, we screened the compound D1-1(IC50= 0.10 μM) with the strongest inhibitory activity against H1975 cells, and its activity was 100 times higher than PPT (IC50= 12.56 μM) and 300 times higher than gefitinib (IC50= 32.15 μM). Affinity analysis results showed that D1-1not only retained the tubulin targeting of PPT but also showed strong AKT targeting. Subsequent pharmacological experiments showed that D1-1significantly inhibited the proliferation and metastasis of H1975 cells and slightly induced their apoptosis by inhibiting both tubulin polymerization and the AKT pathway activation. Collectively, these data demonstrate that the novel hybrid molecule D1-1may be an excellent lead compound for the treatment of human NSCLC as a dual inhibitor of tubulin and AKT.

Three different dimensional Ni(II) coordination polymers, [Ni(3-pna)(HIP)(H2O)3]·H2O(1), [Ni(3-pna)· (1,3,5-HBTC)](2) and [Ni2(H2O)(3-pna)2(1,4-CHDC)2]4(3)(3-pna=3-pyridylnicotinamide, H2HIP=5-hydroxyisophthalic acid, 1,3,5-H3BTC=1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid, 1,4-H2CHDC=1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid), were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by means of infrared spectra(IR), thermal gravimetric (TG) analyses, powder X-ray diffraction(PXRD) and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1has a structure of 1D single-stranded chain, which is further stretched by hydrogen-bond interactions to form a 2D supramolecular sheet. Complex 2shows a 2D network, which is stretched to 3D supramolecular frameworks through hydrogen-bond interactions. Complex 3 reveals a 3D skeleton with a (3,3,6,6)-connected {3·72}{32·4}{33·42·5·73·85·9}{33·45·52·72·82·9} topology. The effects of different polycarboxylates on the ultimate architectures of the complexes 1—3were discussed. Furthermore, the fluorescent and photocatalytic properties of the title complexes were also investigated.

Three Cd(II) metal-organic complexes, namely [Cd(phen)2Cl2](1), [Cd(phen)Cl2](2) and [Cd(phen)(cam)]· H2O(3)(phen=1,10-phenanthroline, H2cam=camphoric acid), were hydrothermally synthesized using Cd2+, phen and H2cam as raw materials under different conditions of pH values, reaction temperatures or reactant ratios. The prepared complexes were structurally characterized by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and the results show that complex 1is a 2D supramolecular complex, which consists of [Cd(phen)2Cl2] mononuclear subunits, while complex 2shows a 1D chain structure, in which Cd(II) ions are connected by chloride(Cl–) bridges, with phen hanging on both sides of the chain. No cam anions have been observed in the structures of complexes 1and 2. In complex 3, cam connects Cd(II) ions to construct a 2D network, in which phen acts as terminal ligands. The adjacent 1D chains for complex 2and the adjacent 2D layers for complex 3are further linked by hydrogen bonding interactions or π-π intermolecular interactions to form 3D supramolecular networks, respectively. The effects of reaction conditions on the assembly and structures of the complexes have been discussed. The fluorescent and photocatalytic properties of complexes 1―3and the fluorescent sensing behaviors of complexes 2and 3have also been investigated.

Two new polyoxometalate(POM)-based hybrid compounds, [Cu(en)][H4Mo4O16]0.5(1)(en=ethylenediamine) and [Ag(3-C5H6N2)2][H2PMo12O40](2)(3-C5H6N2=3-aminopyridine), containing different transition metalamine subunits were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. For compound 1, each [H4Mo4O16]4(Mo4O16) cluster was linked to four neighboring Mo4O16clusters through four [Cu(en)]2+subunits to yield a (2,4)-connected 2D layer, which was further extended to a 3D supramolecular network via hydrogen bonding interactions. For compound 2, the adjacent [H2PMo12O40]–clusters were bridged by [Ag(3-C5H6N2)2]+subunits to generate a 1D chain. The electrochemical behaviors and the photocatalytic activities of compounds 1 and 2 were studied in detail.

Four coordination polymers based on two bis-pyridyl-bis-amide ligands and three aromatic dicarboxylates with different substituent groups, namely, [Co(3-bpcb)1.5(NPH)(H2O)]·4H2O (1), [Co(3-bpcb)(NIPH)] (2), [Co(3-bpcb)0.5(5-H2AIP)]·2H2O (3), [Co(3-bpcd)0.5(5-H2AIP)(H2O)]·2H2O (4) [3-bpcb =N,N′-bis(3-pyridinecarboxamide)-1,4-benzene, 3-bpcd= N,N′-bis(3 pyridine)cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxamide, H2NPH = 3-nitrophthalic acid, H2NIPH = 5-nitroisophthalic acid, 5-H4AIP = 5-aminoisophthalic acid] have been synthetized under hydrothermal conditions. Complex 1displays a one dimensional (1D) chain based on the binuclear [Co2(NPH)2] units and 3-bpcbligands, which is extended into a three dimensional (3D) supramolecular framework through hydrogen bonding and π-π stacking interactions. In complex 2, the (3,5)-connected two dimensional (2D) layers are constructed from 1D Co-NIPH chains and bidentate-bridging 3-bpcbligands. Complex 3is a 2D double layer based on Co-5-H2AIP 2D layers and 3-bpcbpillars. Complex 4also displays a 2D network, which is constructed from the Co-5-H2AIP 1D double chains and 3-bpcdligands. Finally, complexes 2-4are extended into 3D supramolecular frameworks by hydrogen bonding or π-π stacking interactions. The substituent groups of dicarboxylates play an important role in the assembly and structures of the title complexes. Two new inorganic–organic vanadate hybrid compounds [Mn(Hbbi)2(V4O12)] (1) and [Cd(Hbbi)2(V4O12)] (2) (bbi = 1,1’‐(1,4‐butanediyl)bis(imidazole)) were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectroscopy, TG and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The two compounds crystallize in monoclinic system, P21/cspace group with a= 8.556(5) Å, b= 10.761(5) Å, c= 16.917(5) Å, β= 93.032(5) o, V= 1555.4(12) Å3, Z= 2, R= 0.0390 for 1and a= 8.657(5) Å, b= 10.743 (5) Å, c= 16.864 (5) Å, β= 93.81(5)o, V= 1564.9 (12) Å3, Z= 2, R= 0.0717 for 2. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis reveals that the two compounds are isostructural and both consist of one‐dimensional (1D) chains, which are constructed from vanadate anion clusters and [M(Hbbi)2]4+cation groups [M = MnII(1), CdII(2)]. Moreover, the polymeric chains are ultimately packed into a three‐dimensional (3D) supramolecular framework through C–H···O and N–H···O hydrogen bonding interactions.

A conductive carbon paste electrode (CPE) comprised of a new copper‐complex of [Cu2(Dpq)2(Ac)2(H2O)2](ClO4)2⋅H2O (Dpq=dipyrido[3,2‐d : 2′,3′‐f]quinoxaline, Ac=acetate) and carbon powder, was fabricated by the direct mixing method. The electrochemical behavior and electrocatalysis of the new copper‐complex modified CPE (Cu‐CPE) have been studied in detail. Cyclic voltammograms showed that the Cu‐CPE had a favorable electrochemical response of a reversible redox couple of Cu(II)/Cu(I). The Cu‐CPE showed good electrocatalytic activity toward the reduction of the bromate, nitrite and hydrogen peroxide. The electrocatalytic reduction peak current of KBrO3, KNO2and H2O2showed a linear dependent on their concentrations. All of the results revealed that the Cu‐CPE had a good reproducibility, remarkable long term stability and especially good surface renewability by simple mechanical polishing in the event of surface fouling, which is important for practical application.
