While the development of rural tourism promotes the socio-economic development of the destination, it also stimulates contradictions and conflicts between different parties. To explore the strategy choices and action logic underlying the residents’ resistance in rural tourism development, this paper conducted a case study of Likeng village in Wuyuan county, Jiangxi province, China. It was found that although the resistance strategies of residents underwent a transformation from public resistance to sheltered resistance, the internal logic of the resistance behaviour is the capital-based game between community residents and tourism developers. Residents rely on their original cultural and social capital advantages to choose the most effective strategy to change their capital position and ultimately achieve an acceptable balance of interests in the rural tourism field. The outcome of such resistance is not the absolute obedience of one party, but a balance of interests and mutual compromise formed by the two parties in a continuous process of reconciliation.

T cell metabolic activation plays a crucial role in inflammation of atherosclerosis. Shikonin (SKN), a natural naphthoquinone with anti-inflammatory activity, has shown to exert cardioprotective effects, but the effect of SKN on atherosclerosis is unclear. In addition, SKN was found to inhibit glycolysis via targeting pyruvate kinase muscle isozyme 2 (PKM2). In the present study, we investigated the effects of SKN on hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy)-accelerated atherosclerosis and T cell inflammatory activation in ApoE−/−mice and the metabolic mechanisms in this process. Drinking water supplemented with Hcy (1.8 g/L) was administered to ApoE−/−mice for 2 weeks and the mice were injected with SKN (1.2 mg/kg, i.p.) or vehicle every 3 days. We showed that SKN treatment markedly attenuated HHcy-accelerated atherosclerosis in ApoE−/−mice and significantly decreased inflammatory activated CD4+T cells and proinflammatory macrophages in plaques. In splenic CD4+T cells isolated from HHcy-ApoE−/−mice, SKN treatment significantly inhibited HHcy-stimulated PKM2 activity, interferon-γ secretion and the capacity of these T cells to promote macrophage proinflammatory polarization. SKN treatment significantly inhibited HHcy-stimulated CD4+T cell glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation. Metabolic profiling analysis of CD4+T cells revealed that Hcy administration significantly increased various glucose metabolites as well as lipids and acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1, which were reversed by SKN treatment. In conclusion, our results suggest that SKN is effective to ameliorate atherosclerosis in HHcy-ApoE−/−mice and this is at least partly associated with the inhibition of SKN on CD4+T cell inflammatory activation via PKM2-dependent metabolic suppression.

Chemo-resistance is a huge obstacle encountered in the osteosarcoma (OS) treatment. Protein-coding mRNAs, as well as non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), including long ncRNA (lncRNA), circular RNA (circRNA), and microRNA (miRNA), have been demonstrated to play an essential role in the regulation of cancer biology. However, the comprehensive expression profile and competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) regulatory network between mRNAs and ncRNAs in the OS chemo-resistance still remain unclear. In the current study, we developed whole-transcriptome sequencing (RNA sequencing [RNA-seq]) in the three paired multi-drug chemo-resistant and chemo-sensitive OS cell lines to comprehensively identify differentially expressed lncRNAs, circRNAs, miRNAs, and mRNAs. Gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analyses were performed for mRNAs with significantly different expression. Then the ceRNA networks combining lncRNAs, circRNAs, miRNAs, and mRNAs were predicted and constructed on the basis of the authoritative miRanda and TargetScan databases combined with the widely accepted vital drug resistance-related genes and signal transduction pathways. In addition, two constructed ceRNA regulatory pathways, lncRNAMEG3/hsa-miR-200b-3p/AKT2 and hsa_circ_0001258/hsa-miR-744-3p/GSTM2, were randomly selected and validated by real-time qPCR, RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP), RNA pull-down assay, and dual luciferase reporter gene system. Taken together, our findings may provide new evidence for the underlying mechanism of OS chemo-resistance and uncover some novel targets for reversing it.

Rural revitalization has drawn increasing attention from the academia, public and industry. Using remote sensing imagery, semi-structured interviews and non-participant observation, this study explores the content and mechanism of rural spatial reconstruction driven by tourism development in a rural area of China through the lens of cultural connotations of rurality. Results indicate government-led tourism development has transformed the focal village from a traditional rural society based on kinship ties into a commercialized rural tourism community with economic interests at its core. The interplay of space, value, power and capital constitutes the mechanism of spatial reconstruction. Findings emphasize the importance of rurality for the sustainable development of rural tourism and have implications for both governments and developers.

Recent findings have shown that lncRNA dysregulation is involved in many cancers, including osteosarcoma (OS). In a previous study, we reported a novel lncRNA, ODRUL, that could promote doxorubicin resistance in OS. We now report the function and underlying mechanism of ODRUL in regulating OS progression. We show that ODRUL is upregulated in OS tissues and cell lines and correlates with poor prognosis. ODRUL knockdown significantly inhibits OS cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumor growth in vitro and in vivo by decreasing matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) expression. A microarray screen combined with online database analysis showed that miR-3182 is upregulated and MMP2 is downregulated in sh-ODRUL-expressing MG63 cells and that miR-3182 harbors potential binding sites for ODRUL and the 3′ UTR of MMP2 mRNA. In addition, miR-3182 expression and function are inversely correlated with ODRUL expression in vitro and in vivo. A luciferase reporter assay demonstrated that ODRUL could directly interact with miR-3182 and upregulate MMP2 expression via its competing endogenous RNA activity on miR-3182 at the posttranscriptional level. Taken together, our study has elucidated the role of oncogenic ODRUL in OS progression and may provide a new target in OS therapy.

Compared with conventional coronary artery bypass surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS) coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is characterized by minimal surgical trauma, less bleeding, rapid postoperative recovery and good thoracic integrity [1].

The surface nano-crystallization (SNC) of carbon steel was achieved via a high-speed rotating wire-brushing process. Microstructure characteristics of SNC steel were systematically studied. The SNC steel surface exhibited marked deformed plastic flows and high surface roughness. Due to the accumulated strains, a deformed gradient layer with thickness of 40–50 µm was produced, and the grain size of the topmost zone was about 50–100 nm. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis indicated that enhanced Fe oxides and Cr oxides were generated. Electrochemical corrosion tests, including open circuit potential (OCP), electrochemical impendence spectroscopy (EIS), potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) and potentiostatic polarization (PP) were conducted to study the corrosion behavior of SNC steel in 3.5 mass% NaCl solution, where an improved corrosion resistance was observed. The resulted improvement resulted from the dominated positive effects (the attached Cr alloying element and enhanced oxide film) against the negative effects (the higher roughness and the improved corrosion activity of surface microstructure).

As a newly developed engineering structure, bucket foundation breakwater is adapted to soft soil. In this paper, the general-purpose finite element analysis package ABAQUS is employed to conduct three-dimensional numerical analyses on bucket foundation breakwater. Then earth pressure variation on bucket foundation is carried out under different loads of horizontal displacement. Through analysis it obtains the laws of the earth pressure on the meeting-wave side and the back-wave side of bucket foundation breakwater. This will provide the reference and the evidence of preliminary theory for the stability research and practical engineering application of bucket foundation breakwater.

With the rapid advance of industrialization,the consumption of mineral resources is increasing.For open pit mine,many of them went into deep mining.The current,widespread adoption of open pit slope angle makes deep concave mining has a huge stripping ratio.So many mines in trouble,on the premise of guarantee the deep sunken open pit slope stability increase slope toe can bring huge economic benefits,and a lot of research work has been done.This paper describes the factors affecting the stability of open-pit mine slope,the slope rock mass stress analysis,to calculate the lower steep slope economic benefits,puts forward reasonable suggestions the future research direction of the slope stability of open-pit mine.

Abstract.Bucket foundation breakwater,which is a new port engineering structure, emerged in recent years, its simulation of stability in the use is a hot topic that many scholars have been working on. However, the affecting factors, different means of simulation and complex mechanism of contact between the foundation bucket and foundation soil leads to its associated stability simulation test data relative dispersion ,so it has not come to a united analysis and summary. This article mainly from centrifugal model test, finite element numerical simulation discussed briefly the simulation reserch status for the stability of bucket foundation breakwater respectively. It draws some valuable experience and the direction which is likely to continue to deepen research in the future.

In this paper, discusses the school bus problem, given the mathematical model of route optimization, put forward an improved cuckoo search algorithm. Finally, take school bus routes running problem of Gansu Normal College for Nationalities as an example, the algorithm was experimented and the experimental results show that the algorithm to be successful.

We fabricated new magnetic material CuFe2O4/Zn2Cr-LDH by the combination of CuFe2O4 and layered double hydroxide (LDH) through two steps. CuFe2O4 was prepared by sol-gel method with the assistant of citric acid, which was used in synthesis of the composite via microwave hydrothermal method subsequently. The physicochemical properties of the composite was characterized by several techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and Thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA). The magnetic composite reveals several advantage of LDH structure and spinel ferrite oxide and is potential for the application of heterogeneous catalysis.

The characteristics of a chiral negative refraction parallel-plate waveguide under PMC boundary are studied theoretically, and the corresponding dispersion relations, cut-off frequencies, propagating guided modes are obtained. Some novel features are found, such as fundamental mode will be not exist only if the chirality parameter κ>1, in addition, the cutoff frequency is no longer the conventionally defined frequency when propagation constant is zero, but the least frequency that guided mode can still propagate. According to the relations between propagation constant β and wavenumbers k+,k-, the dispersion curves are divided into three regions , and the electromagnetic field components in the regions are analyzed in detail.

According to Maxwell equations and constitutive relations in chiral medium, the dispersion characteristic of the symmetric slab waveguide with chiral negative refractive medium is studied. The dispersion equations expressed in the normalized parameter are deduced in the slab waveguide. The numerical results show that the chiral parameter has great influence on the dispersion characteristic of slab waveguide. When the relative chiral parameter is about 0.0477, the zero order mode of left-handed polarized wave disappears. While it is greater than 1, the core becomes chiral negative refractive medium and the zero order mode disappears. In addition, compared with the general chiral waveguide, the tendency of dispersion curves in slab waveguide with chiral negative refractive medium is also analyzed.

High-performance thermoplastic composites have been developed as significant structural materials for cutting-edge equipment in the aerospace and defence fields. However, the internal mechanism of processing parameters on mechanical properties in the manufacturing process of thermoplastic composite structures is still a serious challenge. The purpose of this study is to investigate the process/crystallization/property relationships for continuous carbon fiber (CF) reinforced polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) composites. The composite laminates are fabricated according to orthogonal experiments via the thermoforming method. The mechanical performance is investigated in terms of crystallization properties and fracture morphology characterizations. Experimental results show that the mechanical performance and crystallization properties of thermoplastic composites are significantly affected by the coupling of processing parameters. The increased molding temperature, pressure, and holding time improve the degree of fiber/matrix infiltration and affect the crystallinity and crystalline morphology of the matrix, which further influences the mechanical properties of the composites. This is reflected in the test results that crystallinity has an approximately linear effect on mode-I interlaminar fracture toughness and transverse flexural modulus. As well as the higher molding temperature can destroy the pre-existent crystals to improve the toughness of the matrix, and the well-defined crystalline structures can be observed when fabricated at higher temperatures and longer periods of holding time.

The reliability test of the overload relay is an important way to find out weak parts and improve the reliability of products. So reliability test technology is of great significance. The reliability test method of overload relay is studied on. By use of reliability tester, the reliability test for the typical productsJRS1D-25 is carried out. According to the test result, the reliability analysis is developed from two aspects of product structure and material characteristics. The failure reasons of the overload relay are found out and the improvement measures are put forward.

A new magnetic Fe3O4/MO-intercalated-LDH composite has been synthesized by combination of Fe3O4, layered double hydroxide (LDH) and methyl orange (MO). Fe3O4/Zn2CrLDH and Fe3O4/MO-intercalated-LDH were obtained via two-step microwave hydrothermal and anion exchange method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) were conducted to characterize the as-prepared samples. The latter exhibited that basal spacing of Zn2Cr-LDH is 1.18 nm. The value of saturation magnetization (Ms) is 20.5 emu/g. In addition, the amounts of adsorbed MO reached 1.54 mmol/g. Therefore, the material shows several advantages for the removal of pollutants.

The algorithm in this paper is based on the combination of Quantum Evolutionary algorithm (QEA) and Ant Colony System (ACS), a new algorithm, Quantum Ant Colony Algorithm (QACA) is proposed in this paper. The core is that Q-bit and quantum rotation gate adopted in QEA are introduced into ACS to represent and update the pheromone respectively, so it has better diversity and global search capacity. The experimental result demonstrates that QACA can get better solutions to some Traveling Salesman Problems (TSP) than the solutions given in TSPLIB

A two-dimensional chiral structure with an h-shape and H-shape on opposing sides of a dielectric layer is proposed that can realize simultaneously dual-band asymmetric transmission of linearly and circularly polarized waves in the near-infrared band. Meanwhile, the structure realizes a maximum asymmetric transmission of 0.56 and 0.30 for linearly and circularly polarized waves, respectively, at the resonant frequency. These results have been analyzed with simulations in detail. The physical mechanism of linearly and circularly polarized wave transmission and conversion based on current distribution and electric fields is also investigated.

A novel chiral metamaterial consisting of double L resonators on two sides of the dielectric substrate is proposed in this paper. The structure can realize broadband asymmetric transmission and polarization conversion of a linearly polarized wave in the terahertz band. The polarization conversion ratio of the linearly polarized wave is more than 80% across a wide frequency range from 2.65 THz to 5.58 THz. Furthermore, the structure realizes three bands polarization angle independent 90° polarization rotator. In addition, optical activity and chirality parameter changing with frequency are studied in detail. The physical mechanism of the polarization conversion is also analyzed by the electric field distributions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
