The article reports on the shell wind musical instrument made by a member of the Paleolithic Magdalenian culture from a sea snail shell. Topics covered include the discovery of the musical instrument in Marsoulas Cave in France's Pyrenees Mountains in 1931, the findings in the reexamination of the shell by a team of researchers directed by Carole Fritz and the resonant notes produced by a musicologist using the instrument.
