Metal-ceramic materials based on NiFe2O4and Fe2O3with additions of copper oxide and transition metals Cu, Ni, Co, and Fe were obtained. Changes in the phase content of materials based on iron oxide were shown, and the electrical conductivity of the obtained composites was studied. Samples of inert anodes were tested in an electrolytic cell; high resistance of cermets NiFe2O4+ Cu, Ni against alumina-cryolite melts and stability of aluminum electrolysis were established.

The synthesis of crystalline complexes of trivalent lanthanides and americium with N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAA) and PW12O403–anions was described. Their IR and electronic absorption spectra were studied. The structure of the neodymium complex [Nd(DMAA)6PW12O40] was determined using X-ray diffraction analysis. The thermal behavior of the lanthanide complexes was studied. In the 300–400°C temperature interval, even in air, intramolecular partial reduction of the anion occurs to form products which can be characterized as tungsten bronzes.

T-REX (tree and reticulogram reconstruction) is an application to reconstruct phylogenetic trees and reticulation networks from distance matrices. The application includes a number of tree fitting methods like NJ, UNJ or ADDTREE which have been very popular in phylogenetic analysis. At the same time, the software comprises several new methods of phylogenetic analysis such as: tree reconstruction using weights, tree inference from incomplete distance matrices or modeling a reticulation network for a collection of objects or species. T-REX also allows the user to visualize obtained tree or network structures using Hierarchical, Radial or Axial types of tree drawing and manipulate them interactively.

The formation of gas bubbles in supersaturated fuel is considered. A formula is obtained for the critical bubble radius.

1.The self-ignition temperature of petroleum products depends considerably on the reaction vessel volume.2.The basic thermophysical conditions which are characteristic of large-volume vessels have been stimulated in the laboratory setup which is described.3.The results obtained by the method described make it possible to determine the minimum self-ignition temperature values and can serve as a reliable criterion of the explosion hazard of petroleum products.

Conclusions 1.Measurements have been made of the coefficients of solubility of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and helium in TS-1, T-1, T-6 fuels and MK-8 oil.2.The solubility of nitrogen and oxygen in hydrocarbon fuels depends very little on the temperature, although the solubility of carbon dioxide increases considerably with reduction in temperature.3.Solubility of gases in petroleum products increases in the following order: He-N2-CO2.

1.Preliminary tests have shown that the source of hardening of industrial rubber goods at elevated temperatures in hydrotreated fuels that are free of sulfur compounds is apparently the oxygen-containing products formed during thermal oxidation of the fuels.2.The introduction of either synthetic or natural oxidation inhibitors into hydrotreated fuel will improve the service properties of this fuel and will reduce its tendency to attack rubber parts.
