An attempt has been made to synthesize Ni1-xCoxFe2O4 by a simple technique of thermal evaporation with the help of egg white. The use of egg white (ovalbumin) in the synthesis process mainly helps to shape the particle during the reaction. The X-ray diffraction patterns reveal that the synthesized Ni1-XCoxFe2O4 ferrites are in nanocrystalline phase. The transmission electron microscopy observation confirmed that the average particle size of Ni1-xCoxFe2O4 has been varied from 7 nm to 30 nm. EDX spectrum gives account of the percentage composition of the products such as nickel, cobalt, Fe and O. Vibrating Samples Magnetometer (VSM) have been sued to study the saturation magnetization for variation of Ni substitution over CoFe2O4 and the influence of particle size in magnetic properties. Its analysis is based on the aspect of variation in coercivity with temperature. The FTIR spectra of the sample in the range 400 – 4000 cm-1 reveals the common feature of ferrites like high frequency band to the tetrahedral and low frequency band to the octahedral stretching vibrations.

Tin oxide nanoparticle was successfully prepared by the chemical digestion method from the starting material as SnCl2. The SnO2 material was characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) and Selected Area Electron Diffraction (SAED). The SnO2 was an n-type material preferred to humidity sensing property towards the moisture. The response and recovery time of sensor was calculated as 129sec and 206sec respectively. It has exhibited better efficiency compared with the bulk SnO2 material. Additional Weight loss, EDS, FT-IR and resistivity measurements were also presented.

The effect of high energy (85 MeV) nickel ions on diamond-like carbon thin films, deposited by microwave discharge of acetylene and methane gases mixed with hydrogen, has been investigated. IR, Raman and spectroscopic ellipsometry studies of irradiated and as-deposited films show large changes in their microstructural features. The effects of irradiation on films prepared from acetylene-hydrogen and methane-hydrogen gas mixtures are very different. Such a behaviour is proposed to be due to the microstructural variations in the as-deposited films.

In the present studies, CdxZn(1−xx)S nanoparticles have been prepared by chemical capping method. Optical absorption, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy studies have been carried out. Size of the nano particles have been calculated from the XRD and optical absorption data. These studies indicate towards a kinetically controlled growth of nano particles. The growth of the CdxZn(1−xx)S nano particles is also affected by the action of the capping agent.

Diamond thin films were deposited using a cyclic growth/etch oxy-acetylene process on tungsten substrates. Growth of 8H polytype of diamond was observed in the diamond thin films. Deposition of 8H polytype of diamond was found to be strongly dependent on the process parameters. Two different phases of tungsten carbide which were formed at the substrate/film interface were also identified by X-ray diffraction. Raman spectrum of these samples confirmed the presence of 8H polytype.

This report deals with 53 patients in whom pregnancy and active tuberculosis coexisted compared with 53 non-pregnant patients with active tuberculosis who were of the same age group and disease status.

The rapidly increasing population, industrial emissions, vehicle exhaust and open burning of garbage waste are the main cause of pollutants which regularly deteriorate the natural environmental conditions. The continuous monitoring of these pollutants is necessary to prevent environmental deterioration. Various types of instruments are available to monitor the pollutes and harmful gases, which are time consuming, expensive and rarely used for in real-time areas. In recent years, scientific community has carried out extensive research on ideal environmental sensor from theory to practice. There are different types of materials such as carbon nanotubes (CNTs), Graphene (G), metal/metal oxide nanoparticles, two dimensional (2D) nanomaterials and hybrid nanostructures, which have been widely investigated as sensing materials for environmental gas sensors. So keeping aforesaid in mind, this review article focuses on the emerging materials and technologies that can identify for environmental monitoring applications.
