The replacement of WC-Co cermet coating partially or entirely has evolved as one of the most promising research hotspots in terms of coating properties as well as economic reasons. In this study, the TiC reinforced AlCoCrFeNi high entropy alloy (HEA) composite coating based on new sintering method was explored. Firstly, the combination of spray drying and plasma spheroidization is proposed to fabricate TiC/HEA composite powder for thermal spraying application. After that, the corresponding composite coating was deposited by high velocity air-fuel (HVAF) process. The results show that the developed TiC/HEA powder has a more compact structure and higher sphericity, which helps to improve powder fluidity, meanwhile, with 50 wt% TiC incorporation, the porosity、hardness、bonding strength and fracture toughness of TiC/HEA composite coating are 0.8 % 765.2 HV0.3,68.1 Mpa and 2.7 MPa m−1/2, respectively, showing simultaneous hardening, densifying and toughening effects after introducing dual-sized TiC particles. Besides, the good wear performances of TiC/HEA composite coating including low wear rate (4.2 × 10−5 mm3 N−1 m−1) and coefficient of friction (0.34) are obtained，indicating a valuable application prospect. In addition, the wear mechanisms of TiC/HEA composite coating are determined by abrasive and oxidation wears and that of grinding ball is abrasive wear and adhesive wears.

Seeking a straightforward, cost-effective, and convenient method to fabricate multicomponent alloy powders holds great significance for their potential applications in industry. In this work, we successfully synthesized multicomponent alloy powders of CoCrFeNi and AlFeNiV via a molten salt method. Compared with traditional methods reported previously, such as mechanical alloying and gas atomization, the molten salt method demonstrates several advantages, including a simpler synthesis process, cost-effective, higher purity, lower reaction temperatures, and ease of large-scale production. Moreover, we further synthesized a P-doped multicomponent alloy catalyst (CoCrFeNi-P) through gas phosphorization and proved that it shows enhanced electrocatalytic performance in seawater electrolysis, which can achieve a current density of 100 mA cm–2at an overpotential of 462 mV. The CoCrFeNi-P catalyst maintained its catalytic activity for seawater electrolysis over a continuous period of 100 h. The multicomponent alloy powders reported herein hold great promise for applications in catalysis fields.

The amorphous latent tracks in b-Ga2O3 single crystal irradiated with [?]5-10 MeV u[?]1 181Ta and 86Kr ions were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). TEM images showed that the mean diameter of latent tracks increased from 2.2 to 8.8 nm with electronic energy loss (S e) values increasing from 18.3 to 41.5 keV nm[?]1. Moreover, the inelastic thermal spike model was used to predict the latent track size. The calculation results agreed well with the experimental results and the predicted S e threshold of latent track formation in b-Ga2O3 was about 17 keV nm[?]1 for 5-10 MeV u[?]1 heavy ions.
