Identificar las unidades multidisciplinares de uveítis en las que participan servicios de medicina interna en colaboración con los servicios de oftalmología en España.

Los anticuerpos anti-NOR90 fueron descritos inicialmente en pacientes con enfermedades autoinmunes basándose en la tinción de una región nucleolar conocida como región organizadora nucleolar (NOR). Este estudio tiene como objetivo explorar los aspectos clínicos de los anticuerpos anti-NOR90 en pacientes con enfermedades autoinmunes sistémicas.

Describir las características de las uveítis inmunomediadas y sus complicaciones en un hospital de tercer nivel. Identificar los factores de riesgo para desarrollar una complicación ocular.

Abstract: Physicochemical and structural properties of grapefruit juice powder were investigated as affected by the addition of maltodextrins of two dextrose equivalent (DE) and gum arabic. Freeze-dried powdered juices were equilibrated at different vapor pressure atmospheres, giving samples with water activity between zero and 0.84. The mechanical properties of the powders were assessed by confined compression, and the compressed samples were subjected to color analysis. The maximum force attained during the compression and the color coordinates were related to water activity and glass transition temperature, and a single value of ΔT = T − T g could be taken as the critical limit to the safe storage of the powders, regardless of their composition. The results indicated that from the perspective of the time at which deleterious changes would take place in powders stored at certain ambient conditions and exposed to certain rate of water uptake, the collapse of the powder would precede browning development.

Cod (Gadus morhua) has a great importance in some European countries, either due to fish production and exportation volume or because of its high consumption. Desalted cod (3.94 ± 0.04% salt content and 73.49 ± 0.06% water content) has a limited shelf‐life due to the microbial activity and the autolytic proteolysis affecting product texture. Thermal treatments can be used to preserve the cod, but these can cause changes in color, fish muscle tenderization through protein denaturation and collagen breakdown. In this research, steam blanching (5 min), water blanching (1 min) and microwave heating (5 W/g, 2 min) were applied to desalted cod. The effect of these treatments on color (CIEL*a*b* coordinates), mechanical properties (shear and TPA tests) and microstructure of cod were analyzed. Thermally treated cod were lighter, slightly yellowed and softer. From color data and microstructural observations, heat induced changes in cod were a little smaller than in microwave heated cod.

A study of the influence of raw materials and processing conditions on the hydration kinetic during cooking and overcooking of spaghetti is presented. Water sorption tests on commercially available spaghetti and on three different types of homemade spaghetti were run at 100°C. In particular, the weight, diameter, and length of spaghetti strands were monitored over time for ˜200 min. The spaghetti hydration process was quantitatively resolved into the controlling phenomena (i.e., water diffusion, macromolecular matrix relaxation kinetic, and residual deformation release kinetic) by fitting a novel mathematical model to the experimental data. The different behavior of spaghetti was analyzed for each of the phenomena involved during hydration. Results suggest that processing conditions highly influence the quality of spaghetti with respect to raw materials.

This work studies the influence of the roasting process on sorption isotherms of almond, hazelnut and peanut over the normal range of storage temperatures (5, 25 and 45 °C) The results obtained showed that water sorption properties of unroasted nuts are affected by fat content. The mono layer moisture content and water affinity (sorption heat, Qs) increased when the nut fat content decreased. After roasting, a more homogeneous water affinity was observed for the different products, although fat content still affected the monolayer capacity. Also, roasting reduced mono layer moisture content and Qsvalues in each sample and made the moisturizing process less spontaneous (decreasing the thermodynamic driving force). These results are consistent with an increase of the hydrophobicity of the cellular components of nuts due to the enhancement of lipid interactions. The water binding properties of active points in the roasted products were reduced and, hence, some water sorption active points disappeared.

To compare 24-hour ambulatory BP monitoring (ABPM) values and patterns from women with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with those of a matched control group and their relationship with the presence of subclinical atherosclerosis.

We present the case of a patient with an infection by Nocardia which manifested itself with monocular endophthalmitis. Nocardia infection is not common and ocular involvement is one of the most uncommon presentations. In these cases it is very important to make an early diagnosis and intensive treatment to prevent the visual prognosis.
