• A MOFs-derived bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst was prepared. • The electron transfer from Ru to Co/Fe could improve the OER performance. • The porous carbon structure caused by Zn evaporation could promote both the ORR and OER activity. • A quasi in-situ electrochemical test in the battery cell was used to observe the surface passivation of transition metal nanoparticles. Prolonging the lifespan of oxygen catalysts in Zn-air batteries was urgently required for the potential commercialization. Herein, two interactional active species were integrated into porous N-doped carbon microspheres (Co-Fe-Ru/PNCS) to act as bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts. Due to the electron transfer from Ru to Co/Fe element, the high value state of Ru could promote OER performance and reduce the charge voltage of the battery. An extended cycle stability of 200 h was achieved in Co-Fe-Ru/PNCS-based battery. Moreover, the quasi in-situ potentiodynamic sweep of air-electrode in battery cell confirmed it was the incorporation of Ru that avoided the passivation of Co/Fe-based nanoparticles. Accordingly, this novel electrocatalyst may provide a new strategy of designing durable bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst for Zn-air batteries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Smooth and compact Cu(In, Ga)Se2(CIGSe) thin film is critical to prepare high-quality solar cells. However, the ”dendritic” morphology of Cu tends to form on Mo leading to a nonuniform Cu distribution during the electrodeposition process, which affects the uniformity of CIGSe and device performance. In this work, Ag was used as the underlying buffer layer and Cu was electrodeposited on Ag film instead of Mo film. By adjusting deposition parameters, smooth and compact Ag layer was obtained on the Mo surface. With the Ag buffer layer, the ”dendritic” Cu on Mo was successfully eliminated. The electrodeposited Ag/Cu/In/Ga metal precursors were annealed in Se-containing atmosphere at 450 °C∼550 °C for 15min to prepare (Ag, Cu)(In, Ga)Se2(ACIGSe) absorbers. Compared with the CIGSe absorber, the crystallinity of the ACIGSe absorber was improved. The VOC, JSC, FFand efficiency of ACIGSe solar cells were improved compared with CIGSe solar cells. Ultimately, an 11.73% efficiency of ACIGSe thin-film solar cells was obtained.

- Abstract
A core–shell molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticle with biological enzyme functional characteristics was developed by oxidative polymerization of template protein and polydopamine on the surface of protease–copper phosphate hybrid nanoflowers by molecular imprinting technology and enzyme immobilization technology. The obtained molecularly imprinted polymer showed specific binding characteristics with the template protein. It recognized and enriched the target molecules through the surface molecularly imprinted sites of the shell structure. In addition, the bound target molecules were further degraded into fragments by nanozymes with biological enzyme characteristics in the core. In this study, molecular imprinting technology and biotechnology were combined to obtain bifunctional molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles that can not only enrich template molecules but also degrade them into fragments. Herein, we selected interleukin 6 (IL-6), the target molecule of cytokine release syndrome (CRS), as a template molecule, and reported a molecularly imprinted polymer with degrading enzyme properties that can rapidly reduce IL-6 levels in vivo, including a molecularly imprinted layer that can recognize and bind IL-6 and nanozymes that can degrade IL-6 and deactivate it. It is used to clear the excessive secretion of IL-6 in CRS and reduce the level of IL-6 in the body to achieve the purpose of adjuvant treatment of CRS.

- Abstract
The integration of reactive oxygen species (ROS)-involved molecular dynamic therapy (MDT) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) holds great promise for enhanced anticancer effects. Herein, we report a biodegradable tumor microenvironment-responsive nanoplatform composed of sinoporphyrin sodium (SPS) photosensitizer-loaded zinc peroxide nanoparticles (SPS@ZnO2NPs), which can enhance the action of ROS through the production of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and singlet oxygen (1O2) for MDT and PDT, respectively, and the depletion of glutathione (GSH). Under these conditions, SPS@ZnO2NPs show excellent MDT/PDT synergistic therapeutic effects. We demonstrate that the SPS@ZnO2NPs quickly degrade to H2O2and endogenous Zn2+in an acidic tumor environment and produce toxic 1O2with 630 nm laser irradiation both in vitroand in vivo. Anticancer mechanistic studies show that excessive production of ROS damages lysosomes and mitochondria and induces cellular apoptosis. We show that SPS@ZnO2NPs increase the uptake and penetration depth of photosensitizers in cells. In addition, the fluorescence of SPS is a powerful diagnostic tool for the treatment of tumors. The depletion of intracellular GSH through H2O2production and the release of cathepsin B enhance the effectiveness of PDT. This theranostic nanoplatform provides a new avenue for tumor microenvironment-responsive and ROS-involved therapeutic strategies with synergistic enhancement of antitumor activity.

- Abstract
Combinational administration of photothermal therapy (PTT) and chemotherapy (CT) shows great potential in improving the efficiency of tumor treatment. Herein, we designed a novel nanocomposite Pt@Bi2Te3composed of bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3) nanoparticles and platinum(IV) prodrugs (Pt) for PTT–CT combination therapy. The obtained Bi2Te3was synthesized by a simple solvothermal method and modified by polyethylene glycol, which exhibited excellent photothermal (PT) efficiency and stability and could also serve as a bimodal bioimaging contrast agent in PT and photoacoustic (PA) imaging. In vitroexperiment results showed that the nanocomposite Pt@Bi2Te3could effectively increase the uptake of platinum in cancer cells, which could kill tumor cells through the combined effect of PTT and CT. Furthermore, combination therapy of cancer in vivowas achieved with obvious tumor-growth inhibition without inducing observed side effects. We revealed the great potential of Bi2Te3nanocomposites in increasing therapeutic efficiency by PTT–CT therapy and PA–PT imaging.

- Abstract
To explore the inhibitory effect of moxibustion on tumor growth and metastasis, and also its possible mechanism, in gastric tumor-bearing rats by investigating the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and epidermal growth factor (EGF). Fifty healthy Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats (half male and half female) were routinely housed for 1 week. A total of 20 rats were randomly divided into a blank group and a sham operation group, with 10 rats in each group. The remaining 30 rats were used to make gastric cancer models by implantation of ascites-type Walker-256 cancer cells. After successful modeling, rats were randomly divided into a model group, a moxibustion group and an infrared group, with 10 rats in each group. From the day of modeling, the body weight of each group was weighed every 4 days. Warm moxibustion was alternately performed at two-group acupoints [Zhongwan (CV 12), Guanyuan (CV 4) and bilateral Zusanli (ST 36) in one group, and bilateral Pishu (BL 20) and Weishu (BL 21) in another group] in the moxibustion group. The body surface projection area of the stomach was irradiated with short-wave infrared rays in the infrared group, once a day, 20 min per time for 21 d. At the end of the treatment, the gastric tumor was completely dissected, and the tumor volume and tumor growth inhibition rate were calculated. Then the gastric tumor cell metastasis was recorded. The levels of VEGF and EGF in rat gastric tumor tissues were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Compared with the blank group, the body weight of the model group decreased significantly after modeling (P<0.05); compared with the model group, the rats in the moxibustion group had increased body weight during the middle and late stages (both P<0.05). The tumor volumes of rats in the moxibustion group and the infrared group were smaller than the volume in the model group (both P<0.05). The tumor growth inhibition rate in the moxibustion group was significantly higher than that in the infrared group (P<0.05). The case number of tumor metastasis in the moxibustion group was smaller than that in the model group and the infrared group. The VEGF level in the tumor tissues of the model group was statistically significantly higher than that in the blank group (P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the VEGF levels in the moxibustion group and the infrared group were statistically significantly lower (both P<0.05). The EGF levels in the tumor tissues of the model group was statistically significantly lower than that in the blank group (P<0.05); compared with the model group, the EGF levels in the moxibustion group and the infrared group were statistically significantly increased (both P<0.05). Moxibustion can increase the body weight, inhibit the tumor growth, invasion and metastasis in gastric tumor-bearing rats, which may be related to the regulation of VEGF and EGF expressions in tumor tissues.

- Abstract
We herein report a novel type of chiral carbon nanotube nanomaterial (MCNTs–PNG–CD) based on smart polymer brush grafted magnetic carbon nanotubes (MCNTs) for highly efficient chiral recognition and separation of tryptophan enantiomers (dl-Trp). The grafted PNG–CD smart polymer brushes are composed of thermosensitive poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide-co-glycidyl methacrylate) (PNG) copolymer chains with numerous appended beta-cyclodextrin (β-CD) units, which play a crucial role in efficient chiral discrimination and separation of dl-Trp. PNG–CD was fabricated on Fe3O4nanoparticle-loaded carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by combining surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI-ATRP) with a ring opening reaction. MCNTs–PNG–CD was systematically characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) and elemental analysis (EA). The prepared MCNTs–PNG–CD demonstrates highly thermosensitive chiral recognition and enantioselectivity toward dl-Trp, which is based on host–guest interactions between β-CD units and l-tryptophan (l-Trp) and the thermosensitive volume phase transition of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) chains. The operating temperature and initial concentrations of AAs are two significant factors that affect the chiral recognition and separation of dl-Trp. Furthermore, the obtained MCNTs–PNG–CD also exhibits satisfactory reusability and excellent magnetic separability from enantiomeric solutions. Such a multifunctional CNT nanomaterial can serve as a high-performance nanoselector for direct enantioseparation of various chiral compounds.

- Abstract
Due to the large reserves, low cost, high security and high energy density, rechargeable multivalent batteries have attracted extensive research enthusiasm for a long time. Multivalent batteries are also supposed as the potential candidates to Li-ion batteries in portable electronic devices and large-scale energy storage units. Unfortunately, most commercial cathode materials in Li-ion batteries cannot be applied in multivalent batteries because of the intensive polarization problem of multivalent intercalated ions (Mg2+, Zn2+, Al3+). Choosing and synthesizing the appropriate cathode materials are the main issues in overcoming the intensive polarization problem. Vanadium-based materials often possess many kinds of oxidation states because of the mutable vanadium element, which can facilitate achieving local electroneutrality and relieve the polarization problem of multivalent ions. In this review, we summarize the researches about the vanadium-based cathode materials for multivalent batteries and highlight the intercalation mechanism of multivalent ions to vanadium-based materials. In addition, different kinds of optimizing strategies are extracted from the literatures. On the basis of our review, progresses and future challenges of vanadium-based cathode materials in rechargeable multivalent batteries are more explicit.

- Abstract
Pseudocapacitive charge storage has been regarded as a promising mechanism to achieve both high specific energy and power energy storage devices. Some pseudocapacitive anode materials show great high-rate performance, however, it remains a significant challenge to develop the cathode ones. Herein, for the first time, we report a layered iron vanadate (Fe5V15O39(OH)9⋅9H2O, named as kazakhstanite) nanosheets (FeVO NSs) with featuring ultrathin layer thickness (< 10 nm). The FeVO NSs are synthesized by a facile wet-chemical approach with a high yield. Compared to the FeVO nanoparticles, the crystalline layered FeVO NSs have additional interlayered Li+storage sites, leading to the enhanced capacity. Ex-situX-ray diffraction results demonstrate a non-phase change process and there is only ~ 1.1% layer expansion/shrinkage during lithiation and delithiation process. Based on detail kinetics analysis and ex-situX-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results, it is found that over 70% of total capacity is pseudocapacitive contribution, which contributes to the ultrahigh-rate capability (a high capacity of 350, 273 and 90 mAh g−1is achieved at 0.1, 1 and 20 A g−1, respectively) and excellent cycling stability over thousands of cycles. This work presents the high performance vanadate material that delivers highly pseudocapacitive behavior, and provides a promising direction to realize both high energy and high power lithium storage.

- Abstract
To adapt the contradiction between the increasing information quantity of highway traffic network monitoring and the limited network bandwidth resources, this paper proposes an object detection algorithm based on Bayesian compressed sensing. Video are sparse in a wavelet base, and a partial Hadamard measurement matrix is adopted to compress the video. The object detection method combines background difference and Bayesian compressed sensing of wavelet tree structure. To get more accurate foreground, an adaptive background model is proposed. Experiments results show the accuracy and effectiveness of the method, and can robustly detect the targets under changing light and reduce the price of video transmission.

- Abstract
As the tool magazine and automatic tool changer (ATC) are the important function units to reserve and change tools for the machining center, the tool-changing rate affects their reliability life which directly influences the performance level of the machining center. However, the reliability of the tool magazine and ATC has not yet got a reasonable evaluation index. Directing at the features of the tool magazine and ATC system, the mean tool change numbers between failures evaluation index is proposed, which is used to calculate the mean time to repair and estimate the collected failure data of the chain-type tool magazine and ATC. It can be seen that the tool magazine with continuous tool-changing adopts the mean tool change numbers between failures as the reliability evaluation index.

- Abstract
Tripartite motif 8 (TRIM8) is a member of the TRIM protein family that has been found to be implicated in cardiovascular disease. However, the role of TRIM8 in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) has not been investigated. We aimed to explore the effect of TRIM8 on cardiomyocyte H9c2 cells exposed to hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R). We found that TRIM8 expression was markedly upregulated in H9c2 cells after stimulation with H/R. Gain- and loss-of-function assays proved that TRIM8 knockdown improved cell viability of H/R-stimulated H9c2 cells. In addition, TRIM8 knockdown suppressed reactive oxygen species production and elevated the levels of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase. Knockdown of TRIM8 suppressed the caspase-3 activity, as well as caused significant increase in bcl-2 expression and decrease in bax expression. Furthermore, TRIM8 overexpression exhibited apposite effects with knockdown of TRIM8. Finally, knockdown of TRIM8 enhanced the activation of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in H/R-stimulated H9c2 cells. Inhibition of PI3K/Akt by LY294002 reversed the effects of TRIM8 knockdown on cell viability, oxidative stress, and apoptosis of H9c2 cells. These present findings defined TRIM8 as a therapeutic target for attenuating and preventing myocardial I/R injury.

- Abstract
Myocardial infarction (MI) is one of the most serious cardiovascular diseases associated with myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Glaucocalyxin A (GLA) is a biologically active ent-kauranoid diterpenoid that has been found to ameliorate myocardial I/R injury in mice. However, the mechanism has not been fully investigated. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the effect of GLA on rat cardiomyocytes H9c2 cells exposed to hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R). The results showed that GLA treatment improved cell viability of H/R-stimulated H9c2 cells. Administration with GLA suppressed the H/R-stimulated reactive oxygen species (ROS) production in H9c2 cells. GLA also elevated the activities of antioxidant enzymes, including superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase in H/R-stimulated H9c2 cells. Moreover, GLA prevented H/R-stimulated cell apoptosis in H9c2 cells, as evidenced by increased bcl-2 expression, decreased bax expression, as well as reduced caspase-3 activity. Furthermore, GLA enhanced the activation of protein kinase B (Akt)/nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2)/heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) signaling pathway in H9c2 cells exposed to H/R. Additionally, treatment with LY294002 reserved the protective effects of GLA on H/R-stimulated oxidative injury in H9c2 cells. In conclusion, these findings suggested that GLA protected H9c2 cells from H/R-stimulated oxidative damage, which was mediated by the Akt/Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway. Thus, GLA might be a promising therapeutic agent for the prevention and treatment of myocardial I/R.
