A prospective cohort study conducted at a high-volume esophageal cancer center in Chongqing, China aimed to investigate the link between the length of the right gastroepiploic artery (RGEA) and anastomotic leakage (AL) rates following minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE). The study enrolled 516 cases and categorized them into two groups based on the length of RGEA. The study found that the incidence of AL was significantly different between the two groups, with shorter RGEA length being identified as an independent predictor of AL.
