Mn3O4/MnSnO3nanocomposites have been successfully synthesized via solvothermal method by using the mixed solution consisting of manganese chloride and tin chloride salt dissolved in the mixture of ethanol and deionized water in 50:50 ratio at the processing temperature of 180 °C by adapting different capping agents such as PVP, PVA and ethylene glycol. The synthesized Mn3O4/MnSnO3nanocomposites were characterized by employing X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectra and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies. The obtained XRD spectra confirmed the formations of Mn3O4/MnSnO3nanocomposite illustrated by the sharp predominant diffraction peak observed at 34.2° corresponding to the (021) lattice planes of Mn3O4. The SEM images supply the information about the morphology of synthesized Mn3O4/MnSnO3nanocomposites. The sharp peaks observed at 483 cm−1further characterize the presence of Mn–O stretching vibration bond in Mn3O4/MnSnO3nanocomposite by employing Raman spectra. The PL result revealed the emissive nature of the sample. FTIR spectra observed at 625 cm−1attributed to the characteristic peaks of Mn3O4/MnSnO3nanocomposite. The Mn3O4/MnSnO3nanocomposite synthesized by the assistance of PVP surfactant exhibits the high specific capacitance of 178.2 F g−1at 0.5 Ag−1current density which can be considered as potential candidate and excellent electrode for pseudocapacitors applications.

On neutralization of Aminoguanidine bicarbonate (H2Agun)with 1,1 -cyclobutane dicarboxylic acid (H2CBD)resulted aminoguanidinium salt, [(HAgun)+(HCBD)-].Using FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and analytical spectroscopy, the compound was identified and characterized. Furthermore, single X-ray diffraction experiment confirms the molecular structure of the salt. The molecular docking approach has been employed to investigate the inhibitory properties of aminoguanidinium hydrogen 1,1-cyclobutane dicarboxylate on three key cancer protein receptors: 3WZE (VEGFR kinase), 5ZMA (crystal structure of an allosteric Eya2 phosphates inhibitor lung cancer protein), and 1JNX (BRCT repeat region from the breast cancer associated protein). Observation of lower binding energy of −4.67 kcal/mol for 3WZE, −4.57 kcal/mol for 5ZMA and 1.7 kcal/mol for 1JNX, respectively, indicating high stability with the protein molecule.

The progress of effective electrode materials for high-performance supercapacitors is one of the most cutting-edge fields of study in the search for alternative and renewable energy uses. 2D MXenes, with their distinctive physiochemical features, have successfully improved the electrode materials by imparting superior energy storage, thus distinguishing themselves among electrode materials. A new class of cobalt ferrite nanoparticles embedded Cr2CTxMXene sheets have been fabricated and tested for supercapacitor applications. Notably, the cobalt ferrite acts as interlayer spacers between Cr2CTxMXene layers. The Cobalt ferrite/Cr2CTxMXene composite offers enhanced supercapacitive features compared to pristine cobalt ferrite or Cr2CTxMXene sheets. The cobalt ferrite/Cr2CTxMXene nanocomposite shows a maximal specific capacity of 763.83C g−1(1909.6 F g−1) at 1 A g−1. The fabricated device using the prepared material exhibited a capacitance retention of 99 % up to 2500 cycles. Also, this attractive nanocomposite displays a charge transfer resistance of only 0.25 Ω, which is highly beneficial to charge-discharge at higher current rates.

ABSTRACTThis paper is aimed at enhancing the heat exchange rate in the thermal energy storage system with dissimilar fins and encapsulation materials. Experimentation is done with d-sorbitol as phase change material with different encapsulating materials, copper, stainless steel (SS) and brass, in pin fin, annular fin and rectangular fin. The results are analysed for their thermal performance characteristics during both the charging and discharging processes. During charging, copper encapsulation showed a higher heat energy transfer rate around 2340 kJ. During discharging, a loss of 22% in heat extraction is seen in copper encapsulations, 6% and 19% in brass and SS encapsulations, respectively. These results show that the usage of annular fins is a valuable practice to increase the heat stored and recovered, in a latent heat storage system. The most cost-effective encapsulation is SS balls with annular fins as compared with copper and brass encapsulations.

Ferrimagnetic cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanoparticles were synthesized by employing co-precipitation method. Product physico-chemical and magnetic properties with respect to cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), hexamethylenetetramine (HMT) and polyethylene glycol (PEG-400) surfactants were investigated. XRD pattern and Raman characteristic active modes revealed the cubic cobalt ferrite structure formation. SEM images explored spherical shaped product with different particle size. Identified strong PL emission peaks confirmed the product quality. IR metal oxygen vibration at 615 and 426 cm−1revealed tetrahedral and octahedral site of cobalt ferrite system. Product electrochemical behavior was found to be size dependent and high specific capacitance was observed using CTAB. Room temperature ferrimagnetic behavior was confirmed through VSM studies. High saturation value as 66 emu/g was found using PEG. Particles with larger crystallite and particle size exhibited improved magnetic behavior.

BiPO4nanomaterial was synthesized using EDTA (ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid) as the surfactant via a simple microwave method. The structure and morphology of BiPO4were systematically characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) studies. The obtained BiPO4nanoparticles were, on average, 150–300nm. The electrochemical results showed that the specific capacitance of BiPO4obtained using the microwave route was up to 104Fg−1at a current density of 1Ag−1with a large potential window of 1.7V. The material showed excellent cycling stability (92% capacitance retention) after 500 cycles at a current density of 1Ag−1.

In recent years, metal organic frameworks (MOFs) with porous carbon materials have significantly improved the design and engineering of high performance electrode materials and have found applications in energy storage devices. This study explores the supercapacitor and electrocatalytic water splitting applications of Mn-MOF/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) composite synthesized via a hydrothermal technique using pyridine 2,6 dicarboxylic acid as a linker. Mn-MOF/rGO exhibits a specific capacitance of 428.28 F g−1with a rate capability of 83.7% and high cyclic stability. The oxygen evolution reaction of the composite is evaluated using linear sweep voltammetry, and the overpotential is calculated to be 400 mV. Our primary goal is to investigate the effect of rGO on the electrochemical response of MOF. The dielectrode (Mn-MOF/rGO) electrolysis system exhibits long-run stability with a low cell potential of 1.8 V, indicating its prospective application as an excellent water electrolyzer. The combination of Mn-MOF with rGO helps in increasing the number of active sites, thereby improving its electronic conductivity by enhancing the electron transfer rate. The outstanding electrochemical behaviour of Mn-MOF/rGO paves the way for the use of rGO-incorporated Mn-MOF in bifunctional applications as energy-generating and storage devices.

Vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) has attracted attention for supercapcitor applications because of its extensive multifunctional properties. In the present study, V2O5nanoporous network was synthesized via simple capping-agent-assisted precipitation technique and it is further annealed at different temperatures. The effect of annealing temperature on the morphology, electrochemical and structural properties, and stability upon oxidation–reduction cycling has been analyzed for supercapacitor application. We achieved highest specific capacitance of 316 F g–1for interconnected V2O5nanoporous network. This interconnected nanoporous network creates facile nanochannels for ion diffusion and facilitates the easy accessibility of ions. Moreover, after six hundred consecutive cycling processes the specific capacitance has changed only by 24%. A simple cost-effective preparation technique of V2O5nanoporous network with excellent capacitive behavior, energy density, and stability encourages its possible commercial exploitation for the development of high-performance supercapacitors.

In this work, the role of different solvent in the synthesis of Mo9O26 nanoparticles was examined through hydrothermal method at optimized experimental conditions. The precursor solutions consists of sodium molybdate salts was dissolved respectively in deionized water, ethanol and mixture of ethanol and deionized water in a separate beaker and labeled as RSF1, RSF2 and RSF3. The obtained Mo9O26 nanoparticles were examined by employing fundamental studies such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Photoluminescence (PL) analysis. The obtained XRD spectra revealed the formations of Mo9O26 nanoparticles employing the sharp diffraction peak appeared at 26.5º corresponding to the lattice planes of (−2 0 5) belongs to the space group P1¯(2). FESEM analysis discloses the different configuration of Mo9O26nanoparticles such as truncated nanorods, fine agglomerated nanorods and half edge hexagonal structure for different solvents. Further, the electrochemical studies have been carried out employing cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanstatic charging–discharging studies. From CV studies, the active material as electrode (RSF1) delivers the high specific capacitance value of 672 Fg−1at the low scan rate of 10 mV. The high specific capacitance of 623 Fg−1at a current density 0.5 Ag−1demonstrated by RSF1 is primarily due to the interconnected truncated nanorods which enhances the charge storage capacity by nearly 2 fold when compared to RSF2 and RSF3.

This paper is intended to improve the heat transfer rate of thermal energy storage system with copper oxide (CuO) as nano-additivesin heat transfer fluid (HTF) by varying encapsulation materials. The experimentation is done with different encapsulating materials like copper, brass and aluminium. The results are analysed for their thermal performance characteristics during charging and discharging processes. D-Sorbitol and therminol-66 with CuO is used as PCM and HTF respectively. A comparison was made between the different encapsulations and it was found that copper encapsulation has higher efficient, storing and recovering energy. However, its high thermal conductivity promotes larger heat losses and its cost is also high on other side. So the economical use of encapsulation material is aluminium compared to other two materials.
