An Ayurveda Bhasmais an inorganic medicine which is used since ancient time for treatment of different human diseases such as: sexual debility, Cancer, Leukemia, Diabetic, etc. However, the knowledge of Crystallite size, active ingredients contained in Bhasmais limited, which is restricting its use as nanomedicine in the modern era. Also the year 2015 nobel prize in medicine has motivated many researchers towards traditional medicines. Therefore, the different chemical and physical properties of Tamra Bhasmahas been studied by modern experimental tools (XRD, VSM, SEM, FTIR and PL spectrometer) and the preliminary testing of Tamra Bhasmananoparticles was examined on Staphylococcus aureusand Escherichia colibacteria. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the crystallite size of Bhasmapowder is less than 100 nm and found to be magnetic in nature, which is studied from Magnetization Hysteresis loop. Photoluminescence (PL) properties of nanocrystalline Bhasmapowder was investigated in UV–visible–NIR region upon excitation of laser source of 200 nm and 225 nm respectively. The present studies not only explore the use of the Bhasmaas nanomedicine but also opens a window to understand its possible use as a modern nanomedicine and foster glorious Indian wisdom.

Tamra Bhasmais derived from metallic copper that is recommended for different ailments of liver and spleen, dropsy, abdominal pain, heart disease, colitis, tumors, anemia, loss of appetite, tuberculosis, as well as eye problems.
