The author discusses two cases involving crimes against humanity under French law, In re Javor and In re Munyeshyaka. In the first case, the Cour de cassation found that there was no universal jurisdiction under the law to deal with Serbian war crimes charges; in the second case, the court ruled that it lacked jurisdiction over a case involving charges of war crimes in Rwanda.
