One new sesquiterpene, (4S,7R,10S)‐2‐oxo‐4,10,11‐trihydroxyguaia‐1(5)‐ene (1), and five lignans, kadsuralignan J (2), isovaleroylbinankadsurin A (3), schizandrin O (4), futokakadsurin C (5), and arisantetralone (6) were isolated from the roots of Kadsura induta. Their chemical structures were revealed by MS, 1D and 2D NMR spectra in comparison with the reported data. The absolute configuration of compound 1was determined by calculation of its theoretical ECD spectra and compared with the experimental results.

In this work, we propose a self-adaptive projection method for solving variational inequalities with Lipschitz continuous and quasimonotone mapping (or Lipschitz continuous mapping without monotonicity) in real Hilbert space. Using the technique of double inertial steps into a single projection method, we give weak and strong convergence theorems of the proposed algorithm. The results obtained in this paper extend some recent results in the literature.

The projection technique is a very important method and efficient for solving variational inequality problems. In this study, we developed the subgradient extragradient method for solving pseudomonotone variational inequality in real Hilbert spaces. Our first algorithm requires only computing one projection onto the feasible set per iteration and the strong convergence is proved without the prior knowledge of the Lipschitz constant as well as the sequentially weak continuity of the associated mapping. The second algorithm uses the linesearch procedure such that its convergence does not require the Lipschitz continuous condition of the variational inequality mapping. Finally, some numerical experiments are provided to demonstrate the advantages and efficiency of the proposed methods.

ABSTRACTBackground: Under the WHO’s Global Action Plan for influenza vaccines, we conducted a phase 2–3 study of IVACFLU-S, a trivalent, seasonal inactivated influenza vaccine candidate.Methods: In the phase 2 portion of the study, 252 participants received one dose of 15 mcg hemagglutinin (HA) vaccine per strain or placebo. Following determination of safety, 636 additional participants were randomized in phase 3 to receive vaccine or placebo. Immunogenicity was assessed in a subset of the participants in the phase 3 study.Results: Higher proportion (70%) of participants in the IVACFLU-S arm reported solicited local adverse events (AEs) (p< .0001) as compared to placebo (25%). Mild injection site pain and tenderness were most common AEs seen in 55% and 60% of participants in the vaccine group. The solicited systemic AEs were comparable (p= .4149). The majority of solicited and unsolicited AEs were mild to moderate in severity. In the vaccine arm for the combined age group of 18–60 years of age, seroconversion against antigens A/H1N1, A/H3N2, and B was achieved in 70.3%, 76.1%, and 54.1% of participants respectively; seroprotection against antigens A/H1N1, A/H3N2, and B was achieved in 83.3%, 86.6%, and 60.3% of participants respectively; and the geometric mean fold rise for the hemagglutinin-inhibition (HI) antibody titers against antigen A/H1N1, A/H3N2, and B were 13.15, 11.85, and 5.87, respectively.Conclusion: This study demonstrates the local reactogenicity, other safety, and immunogenicity of IVACFLU-S, first domestically produced influenza vaccine in Vietnam.ClinicalTrials.gov numberNCT03095599 (March 29, 2017)

In this paper, we propose a new version of the extragradient method for solving non-Lipschitzian and pseudo-monotone variational inequalities in real Hilbert spaces. First, we show that the proposed method converges strongly to the minimum-norm solution of a variational inequality under mild assumptions. Second, we obtain a linear convergence rate of this algorithm under strong pseudo-monotonicity and Lipschitz continuity assumptions. Our results improve some recent contributions in the literature on the extragradient method. Finally, we illustrate the performance of proposed algorithm by some numerical results.

Fall injury is one of the biggest risks to health and well-being of the elderly especially in independent living because falling accidents may cause instant death. There are many research interests aimed to detect fall incidents. Fall detection is envisioned critical on ICT-assisted healthcare future. In addition, mobile battery is currently another serious problem in which performance feasibility is considered as a standard to verify an effective method. In this paper, the authors study forward fall detection method from mobile phone perspective using accelerometer only without sacrificing accuracy to save energy. Using peak threshold algorithm in axes of mobile accelerometer, transition from activity of daily living (ADL) to forward fall event is recognized. In collected templates, Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) was applied to compute difference among them with new unlabeled samples. Results implemented on mobile phone easily show the feasibility of the method hence contribute significantly to fall detection in healthcare.

In this Part 2 of the present work, the diffusivities of n-heptane, cumene, and mesitylene in the SBA-16 silica samples described in Part 1 have been measured by the zero length column (ZLC) method. A comparison is made between the diffusivities and diffusion apparent activation energies in these materials and in a series of SBA-15 samples of similar pore size and pore volume. The latter series was discussed in a previous work. Clear differences are indeed observed and rationalized in terms of differences in the pore structure of the two series of solids.

This study was conducted at the Acacia and Eucalyptus plantations and an unplanted area in Vietnam to firstly compare the appearance of native tree species between different plantations and an unplanted area, and secondly to examine the effect of planting densities and distances from the natural forest to plantations on the appearance and successful growth of native tree species. The area had previously suffered from many forest fires, grazing activity and shifting cultivation until 1990, and consequently had become degraded with low species diversity, low vegetation cover and low soil fertility. Circular plots of 200 m2 were used to collect data from January to April, 2004. Several diversity indices were recorded to evaluate the species diversity in the plantations and unplanted area. A total of 22 regenerated native tree species were found in the plantation of Acacia auriculiformis with a density of 860 trees per ha. In this plantation, the best planting density was 1,660 trees per ha. The lowest density was 467 trees per ha for a plantation of Eucalyptus camaldulensis with 12 regenerated native tree species. The number of regenerated native tree species and their density abundance in plantations at 300 m away from the natural forest were half of those at a distance of 50 m away.

Vitamin A deficiency is one of the major nutritional deficiencies in Vietnam. the first survey, conducted in 1985–1988 showed that the prevalence of severe xerophthalmia was seven times higher than the cutoff point established by the World Health Organization (WHO) to define vitamin A deficiency as a public health problem. the result of this survey strongly convinced the government to launch a program to control vitamin A deficiency, which started in 1988. the program strategies included nutrition education, universal distribution of high-dose vitamin A capsules to children aged 6 to 36 months in combination with national immunization days, and promotion of production and consumption of vitamin A–rich foods at the family level. the implementation network was set up based on the existing preventive health structure at all administrative levels. Organizations such as the women's union and other social sectors have participated actively in the program. Surveys conducted in 1994 and 1998 showed that the prevalence of clinical xerophthalmia was significantly lower than that identified in the baseline survey and below the WHO criteria for a public health problem. the achievements of our program have demonstrated that an effective vitamin A supplementation program can be implemented successfully by the preventive health network with active community participation. in the coming years, it will be important for our program to develop approaches other than vitamin A supplementation in order to maintain the past achievements.
