The current method of Vcom adjustment in VR products is to start with the smallest Vcom and increase the voltage with a larger adjustment step while testing the change in flicker value, the flicker value will slowly decrease and when the flicker value starts to get bigger, reduce the adjustment step and adjust the Vcom in the opposite direction until the second flicker gets bigger and meets the specification, then the optimum Vcom will be found (quotes) [1].There are obvious drawbacks to this current approach: 1. Dueto the different optimal Vcom of different modules, the time to find the optimal Vcom is long and not fixed;2. Vcom will drift with time (Vcom Drift), the problem of irregular time will lead to increased risk of Flicker NG. In order to solve the shortcomings of the current Vcom adjustment methods, we introduced the mathematical theory and deduced the Vcom calculation process to establish the deterministic‐Vcom (D‐Vcom) algorithm. After experiments, the DVcom algorithm can effectively reduce the Vcom adjustment time and has the advantage of fixed adjustment time. This is very helpful for the actual production efficiency and optical stability of the products.

As the market for near‐eye display devices and other similar devices expands, these devices and their display performance are receiving more and more attention and challenges. Therefore, this paper reports a display module consisting of a high PPI fast LCD based on LTPS backplane paired with an ultra‐multi‐partition Mini‐LED backlight. The display adopts a new pixel structure and is able to achieve a transmission rate of 1.8% and a high contrast ratio of 500:1 on 1411 PPI. Besides, the multi‐partition Mini‐LED backlight unit is able to achieve 1728 partitions of local dimming and high dynamic contrast ratio of the display module, meanwhile the brightness of the backlight is increased by 4.9% with the same power consumption, making the overall display module brighter.

With the expansion of the markets about near‐eye display devices and other similar consumer devices, the highly optical efficiency and display performance of these devices have also received more and more attention and challenge. So in this paper, a novel backlight unit for liquid crystal display (LCD) is reported. The angle of the radiation can change with the position of the active area (AA) in two directions. The change range of the chief radiation angle can vary more than ±20°. In the meanwhile, with the same power consumption, the brightness of the backlight can achieve or exceed the existing brightness level of the backlight.

In this study, the non-fragile asynchronous reliable sampled-data control for uncertain Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems with Bernoulli distribution is addressed. The system involves both the randomly occurring uncertainties of parameters in the fuzzy system model and randomly occurring gain perturbations of the controller. By introducing three stochastic variables, a new model structure satisfying Bernoulli distribution is formulated to describe the system and the controller. The main purpose of this study is to design the non-fragile asynchronous reliable sampled-data controller such that the considered system is finite-time bounded and possesses finite-time mixed H ∞ and passive performance. Based on an improved Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, newly bounding inequalities and stochastic processing method, new conditions satisfying the required result are derived for the uncertain fuzzy systems in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Moreover, a modified non-fragile asynchronous reliable sampled-data controller is designed. Finally, two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented results. With the expansion of the markets about near‐eye display devices and other similar consumer devices, the security of display devices has also received more and more attention. So in this paper, a novel low blue light backlight unit for eye‐protective liquid crystal display is reported. The low blue light characteristic is achieved by a LED with long wavelength (>457nm) chip and K2SiF6:Mn4+phosphors or Red/Green phosphors. The screen with this backlight unit can realize 86% NTSC color gamut with a slight decrease in brightness, 8% or so. In addition, the ratio of toxic blue light region (wavelength ranges from 415nm to 450nm) to the whole blue light region (wavelength ranges from 400nm to 500nm) is less than 40%. Especially, the ratio can be less than 15% if using the chip with longer wavelength (>460nm) and Red/Green phosphors. The screen also reaches the TÜV Rheinland low blue light display certification standard.

This study constructs and investigates the non-fragile asynchronous event-triggered control for uncertain switched neural networks with communication delays and Bernoulli distribution. The system involves both the randomly occurring uncertainties of all parameters (ROUAPs) in the switched system model and randomly gain perturbations of the controller. By introducing several stochastic variables, a new model structure obeying Bernoulli distribution is formulated to describe the uncertainties of system and the controller. In addition, an improved non-fragile asynchronous event-triggered control scheme is proposed and a modified Lyapunov–Krasovskii function (LKF) is chosen via flexible terminal method (FTM) to deal with such uncertain switched systems with delays. By combining newly bounding inequalities and convex combination method, new results are presented for the uncertain delayed switched error systems in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI). Furthermore, the non-fragile asynchronous event-triggered controller is designed with less communication burden. Finally, a numerical example is provided to verify the merits of the proposed results.

Many Task Computing (MTC) is a new class of computing paradigm in which the aggregate number of tasks, quantity of computing, and volumes of data may be extremely large. With the advent of Cloud computing and big data era, scheduling and executing large-scale computing tasks efficiently and allocating resources to tasks reasonably are becoming a quite challenging problem. To improve both task execution and resource utilization efficiency, we present a task scheduling algorithm with resource attribute selection, which can select the optimal node to execute a task according to its resource requirements and the fitness between the resource node and the task. Experiment results show that there is significant improvement in execution throughput and resource utilization compared with the other three algorithms and four scheduling frameworks. In the scheduling algorithm comparison, the throughput is 77% higher than Min-Min algorithm and the resource utilization can reach 91%. In the scheduling framework comparison, the throughput (with work-stealing) is at least 30% higher than the other frameworks and the resource utilization reaches 94%. The scheduling algorithm can make a good model for practical MTC applications.

Cloud computing is very attractive for schools, research institutions and enterprises which need reducing IT costs, improving computing platform sharing and meeting license constraints. Sharing, management and on-demand allocation of network resources are particularly important in Cloud computing. However, nearly all-current available cloud computing platforms are either proprietary or their software infrastructure is invisible to the research community except for a few open-source platforms. For universities and research institutes, more open and testable experimental platforms are needed in a lab-level with PCs. In this paper, a platform of infrastructure resource sharing system (Platform as a Service (PaaS)) is developed in virtual Cloud computing environment. Its architecture, core modules, main functions, design and operational environment and applications are introduced in detail. It has good expandability and can improve resource sharing and utilization and is applied to regular computer science teaching and research process.

Technology for monitoring in vivomicroRNA (miRNA) activity is extremely important for elucidating miRNA biology. However, in vivostudies of miRNA have been hampered by the lack of a convenient approach to reliably reflect real-time functional changes in miRNAs. Sensors for miRNA were developed by adding miRNA target sequences to the 3′-untranslated region of Gaussia princepsluciferase (Gluc) mRNA. These sensors were then evaluated in vitroand in vivoby measuring Gluc activity in cell supernatants and in peripheral blood. Sensors driven by the CMV promoter were effective for monitoring miR-122 in living cells, but not for the long-term monitoring of miR-122 or miR-142 in mouse liver because of CMV-promoter silencing. Replacing the CMV promoter with a CAG promoter rendered these sensors effective for the long-term monitoring of relevant liver miRNA activities. We subsequently used the CAG-promoter-based sensor for the long-term monitoring of endogenous liver miR-122, miR142 and miR-34a activities, as well as for exogenous miR-34a activity. Our study demonstrates that real-time in vivoactivities of miRNAs can be continuously and conveniently detected in mouse liver using the sensors that we have developed.

Unlike stationary behavior, time-dependent blocking probabilities for loss networks are not well understood and little work has been done except for the single service center case. We propose novel closed-form transient analysis methods for single Erlang loss system and networks, to the best of our knowledge, these are the most efficient ways to analyze the transient behavior of Erlang loss system and networks. Applying this model, time-dependent provisioning can satisfy dynamically changed traffic demands and avoid overprovisioning problem in connection-oriented loss networks.

Brightness adjustment is an essential part during the production of OLED (Organic Light‐emitting Diode) module. To acquire the highest brightness, it usually takes one or more tests without the guidance of valid methods or theories. Based on the OLED light‐emitting principles, this paper sets out to investigate into the brightness adjustment process and calculate the maximum brightness of module in theory [Equation (4−6)] on the premise of the fixated white point. With the comparison of OLED module experimental results (Table 2), it shows that calculated values are well compatible with module maximum brightness test values, which is instructive and meaningful in the adjustment of OLED module.

We have developed a unique method to improve brightness homogeneity of VR display. Through this method, not only we can decrease the difference in brightness of two displays modules significantly, but also can improve the max brightness and decrease the back‐light‐unit (BLU) loss which is very expansive device.

Cinnamaldehyde- (CMA-) modified coal tar pitches (CTPs) are prepared in the presence of acids. In this paper, the effect of boric acid and p-toluene sulfonic acid on the pyrolysis and graphitization process of CMA-modified CTP was studied. The pyrolysis process was studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and derivative thermogravimetry, and polarized-light microscopy. In addition, the graphitization process was studied by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. The results indicate the carbon yield of CMA-modified CTP with boric acid as catalyst (B7C10) is higher than that of CMA-modified CTP with p-toluene sulfonic acid as a catalyst (P7C10). In addition, under the same experimental condition (heated at 400°C and held for 1 h), the mesophase spheres of B7C10 are more regular than those of P7C10 and the largest diameter of the mesophase spheres can reach to 40 um. Further, after the graphitization process, the graphitization degree of B7C10 is higher than that of P7C10. So, it is more effective to modify CTP with boric acid as a catalyst.

This study focuses on the stabilization analysis for fuzzy systems with the switched sampled-data control. By utilizing the information of the membership functions, an improved time-dependent and fuzzy-membership-function-dependent Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional (LKF) is constructed to commendably capture the available information related to the real sampling pattern. Together with a switching idea and newly inequalities, further results with less conservativeness are established to ensure that the switched sampled-data control stabilizes the fuzzy systems. Moreover, the switched sampled-data controllers are devised with a larger sampling interval. Finally, the effectiveness of the presented criteria is verified by two examples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
