The environmental challenges caused by hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)] cannot be ignored. Here, a novel oxidized PASS (OPASS)/UiO-66-NH2nanofibrous membrane (OPASS/U NM) was successfully fabricated by electrospinning and an in situ growth process and applied for the removal of Cr(VI). It is found that the OPASS/U NM exhibits high adsorption performance due to its large surface area. Meanwhile, UiO-66-NH2particles are seamlessly and uniformly embedded on the surface of the OPASS fiber, which would endow the OPASS/U NM with photocatalysis reduction performance. Thus, under visible light, the OPASS/U NM could rapidly absorb Cr(VI) and reduce it to Cr(III), and the maximum removal capacity at pH 3.0 reached 20.10 mg/g. Furthermore, a possible photocatalytic reaction mechanism for removal of Cr(VI) is proposed. The OPASS/U NM also exhibits good stability, outstanding solvent resistance, and excellent recyclability. It retains a 92% reduction efficiency even after three cycles and shows a high recovery rate (>95%). More importantly, it can endure a series of strong polar solvents such as dimethylacetamide, N-methylpyrrolidone, and N,N-dimethylformamide. This research not only offers a strategy for enhancing the removal of Cr(VI) but also introduces a composite membrane suitable for wastewater containing aggressive solvents.

Transit-oriented development (TOD) is a sustainable land use planning tool based on land value-added capturing and urban quality improvements and has been vigorously promoted by Chinese city governments. However, few studies have been conducted on the role of the ‘land finance’ model and on people-oriented planning approach focusing on urban inclusive growth. This paper examines the current implementation of TOD in China and attempts to explore the approach to the paradigm transformation of urban development in China. Evidence from Hangzhou illustrates that the current land-centered and property-led urban rail transit construction, although contributing to the economic sustainability of ‘urban development strategy’, has led to unaffordable housing prices and failed to decentralize population away from downtown areas. This study highlights inclusive growth models which integrate TOD planning with affordable housing for the floating population, not only to ensure equity in housing affordability and space accessibility but also to promote polycentric urban development strategies. The locations of inclusive growth models include new towns/sub-cities, traditional cores and suburbs, which are all based on existing industrial cluster areas and promote the full utilization of existing public service facilities.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a palliative technique that can improve median survival with minimal invasion for cholangiocarcinoma (CC) patients. An ideal photosensitizer (PS) is critical to guarantee the efficacy of PDT. However, conventional PSs have some obvious drawbacks, such as lack of specificity and easy aggregation in aqueous media that limit their further application in the clinic. We herein fully take advantage of a red emissive aggregation-induced emission (AIE) PS to fabricate integrin ανβ3targeted organic AIE dots for image-guided PDT viaa simple and straightforward one-step strategy. The obtained AIE dots exhibit high specificity to CC as well as excellent antitumor effect both in vitroand in vivo. Different from conventional PSs and previously reported PS-loaded nanostructures, the AIE dots do not suffer from aggregation-caused fluorescence quenching and reduction in reactive oxygen species production when the AIE PS molecules are in an aggregated state. The significant antitumor effect, as well as good biocompatibility and negligible toxicity, makes the AIE dots promising for future translational research in CC diagnosis and therapy.

Industrial air pollutants have serious harmful effects on human health, as industry exhaust is among the main sources of air pollutants, particularly in developing countries. Thus, in this work, a novel material, oxidized poly(arylene sulfide sulfone)/UiO-66-NH2(OPASS/UiO-66-NH2) nanofibrous membrane, was developed for the removal of both volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and PM2.5via electrospinning, post-oxidation treatment, and in situ vertical growth. The result of scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy demonstrated that the OPASS/UiO-66-NH2nanofibrous membrane was successfully prepared. In addition, four kinds of OPASS/UiO-66-NH2nanofibrous membranes were systematically investigated to obtain the optimum one, which was treated for 15 min for UiO-66-NH2growth. It is found OPASS/UiO-66-NH2nanofibrous membrane has outstanding comprehensive performance, high filtration efficiency (99.98%), low pressure drop (120 Pa) for PM2.5removal, and high sorption capacity (30.3, 28.7, and 20.3 mg/g) to dichloromethane, toluene, and benzene. More importantly, the OPASS/UiO-66-NH2nanofibrous membrane could endure high temperatures (250 °C) and harsh environments (N-methylpyrrolidone) and still retain a stable morphology and excellent removal performance for PM2.5and VOCs. The outstanding performance of OPASS/UiO-66-NH2nanofibrous membrane shows potential for the application in high-temperature flue gas treatment.

Extensive use of industrial land has been typical for many cities in China since the end of the previous century. One of the most important reasons is the local governments’ strategy choice in land use. In this research, a governance structure from the view of the tax-sharing system and the performance appraisal system is constructed to explain the causes of extensive land use using game theory analysis. The key finding is that the governance structure in industrial land use is an organizational structure composed of the central government, local government and the market, and these three participants hold inter-conditioned relationships so as to form a closed loop. However, a bottom-up relationship chain from the market is absent in this structure, which makes it difficult to rely on local governments to implement intensive use of industrial land by themselves. Game equilibrium analysis shows that if a performance penalty coefficient is considered to refine the existing performance appraisal system to help produce a market feedback, the possibility of local governments adopting extensive land use strategies will be reduced.

Edge is one of the most important features of an image because it recognizes the world through images and understands the position and contour of objects in images through edges. Edge monitoring of depth image is the basis of object recognition and location. The contour curve calculates the feature points and maps them to the original contour space. The original contour is matched by a sequence of markers. At the initial stage of recognition, the dissimilar targets and different gestures are eliminated quickly. The candidate list of targets is generated for accurate matching to improve the recognition efficiency. The curve is a nonlinear extension of the first principal component, emphasizing the search for the "middle" through the distribution of data, starting from an arbitrary point of the image, estimating the pixel points near the point and obtaining the gradient value. If the point satisfies the characteristics of the edge point, then the point detour depth traverses to find edge points that are perpendicular to the direction of the gradient and marks the visited points. And satisfy the self-consistent smooth curve without parameters, these curves give an overview of the data. Determine the degree of approximation; when the judgment has converged to the target contour, continue to converge and penetrate the concave area of the target contour.
