Flexible quantum spin electronic devices based on ferromagnetic insulators have attracted wide attention due to their outstanding advantages of low-power dissipation and noncontact sensing. However, ferromagnetic insulators, such as monocrystalline yttrium iron garnet (Y3Fe5O12, YIG), hve weak stress effects with a small magnetostrictive coefficient (λ110, 10 ppm), making it difficult to achieve a large magnetic tunable amplitude. In this paper, large-scale (with a diameter of 40 mm), flexible Pt/YIG heterojunctions were obtained by double-cavity magnetron sputtering technology, indicating typical soft magnetism and good bending fatigue characteristics. Here, the 3 nm thickness of the Pt layer triggers an obvious magnetic proximity effect, in which the in-plane ferromagnetic resonance field is decreased by 70 Oe compared to flexible Cu/YIG heterojunctions. Meanwhile, it shows a wide tunable amplitude of 110 Oe under the flexible bending stresses, which is induced by the sensitive interface effect of Pt (3 nm)/YIG heterojunctions. The saturation magnetization of Pt/YIG heterojunctions is negatively correlated with Pt thickness rather than the relative stability of Cu/YIG heterojunctions, depending on the magnetic proximity effect. It brings greater application possibilities for flexible stress-sensitive magnetic oxides in spin logic electronic devices.

The space charge dynamic characteristic is a critical factor in electrical treeing under ac voltage, especially in the initiation stage. This article explains a method to analyze the effect of space charge on tree initiation. Crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) composite samples with different contents of voltage stabilizer were prepared. The electrical tree inception voltage of each sample was measured with the needle-plate electrode. The space charge distribution characteristics of the composites were measured by a pulsed electroacoustic (PEA) system with an extremely fast pulse burst under ac. In addition, trap distribution characteristics were studied by the isothermal surface potential decay (ISPD) method. The results show that the voltage stabilizer inhibited tree initiation, and the optimum content was 0.5 wt%. The detected space charge near the electrodes decreased significantly from the voltage stabilizer, and the traps induced by the voltage stabilizer were inferred to be the main reason. In addition, it was confirmed that the calculated average bulk charge density had a negative correlation with the tree inception voltage, which could be a supporting datum for the ac tree initiation mechanism.

A high-performance InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well (MQW) p-i-n photodetector (PD) is fabricated on patterned sapphire substrates (PSSs). The fabricated PD exhibits a low dark current density of $ < 2.0\times 10^{-{10}}$ A/cm2 under a bias voltage of −2 V, with a high photocurrent to dark current contrast ratio of over $10^{{6}}$ . Furthermore, the peak responsivity at the wavelength of 395 nm reaches 0.18 A/W at −10 V, corresponding to a maximum quantum efficiency of approximately 56%. In addition, the noise equivalent power (NEP) and normalized detectivity were found to be $1.14\times 10^{-{11}}$ W and $2.77\times 10^{{11}}$ cm $\cdot $ Hz $^{{0.5}}\,\,\cdot \,\,\text{W}^{-{1}}$ , respectively. The high-performance PD achieved is believed to be related to the high crystalline quality of the InGaN epilayer.

Deep soil organic carbon (SOC) plays an important role in carbon cycling. Precisely predicting deep SOC at the regional scale is crucial for the accurate assessment of carbon sequestration potential in soils but has been challenging for a century. Herein, we developed a depth distribution function-based empirical approach to predict SOC in deep soils at the regional scale. We validated this approach with a dataset from four regions of the world and examined the application of this approach in China’s Loess Plateau. We found that among the reported depth distribution functions describing vertical patterns of SOC, the negative exponential function performed best in fitting SOC along the soil profile in various regions. Moreover, the parameters (i.e., Ceand k) of the negative exponential function were linearly correlated to surface SOC (0–20 cm) and the changing rates of SOC within the topsoil (0–40 cm). Based on the above relationships, the empirical equations for predicting the negative exponential parameters are established. The validation results from site-specific and regional dataset showed that combining the negative exponential function and such empirical equations can precisely predict SOC concentration in soils down to 500 cm depth. Our study provides a simple, rapid and accurate method for predicting deep soil SOC at the regional scale, which could simplify the assessment of deep soil SOC in various regions.

The biodiversity of the mycobiome, an important component of the oral microbial community, and the roles of fungal–bacterial and fungal–immune system interactions in the pathogenesis of oral lichen planus (OLP) remain largely uncharacterized. In this study, we sequenced the salivary mycobiome and bacteriome associated with OLP. First, we described the dysbiosis of the microbiome in OLP patients, which exhibits lower levels of fungi and higher levels of bacteria. Significantly higher abundances of the fungi Candidaand Aspergillusin patients with reticular OLP and of Alternariaand Sclerotiniaceae_unidentifiedin patients with erosive OLP were observed compared to the healthy controls. Aspergilluswas identified as an “OLP-associated” fungus because of its detection at a higher frequency than in the healthy controls. Second, the co-occurrence patterns of the salivary mycobiome–bacteriome demonstrated negative associations between specific fungal and bacterial taxa identified in the healthy controls, which diminished in the reticular OLP group and even became positive in the erosive OLP group. Moreover, the oral cavities of OLP patients were colonized by dysbiotic oral flora with lower ecological network complexity and decreased fungal–Firmicutes and increased fungal–Bacteroidetes sub-networks. Third, several keystone fungal genera (Bovista, Erysiphe, Psathyrella, etc.) demonstrated significant correlations with clinical scores and IL-17 levels. Thus, we established that fungal dysbiosis is associated with the aggravation of OLP. Fungal dysbiosis could alter the salivary bacteriome or may reflect a direct effect of host immunity, which participates in OLP pathogenesis. Imbalance in the oral fungal community could lead to the development of oral lichen planus (OLP), a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the mucous membranes in the mouth. The exact cause of OLP is uncertain, which is a major obstacle to therapeutic development. Using salivary samples, a team headed by Xuedong Zhou at Sichuan University in China investigated the composition and diversity of the fungal community in OLP patients and healthy individuals. The authors found that the oral fungal community was less diverse and that there were higher levels of bacteria in OLP patients. The team concluded that fungal community imbalance could affect the bacterial community in the saliva and the host immunity in the mucous membrane, thereby constituting a direct or indirect cause of the development of OLP.

Human body temperature not only reflects vital signs, but also affects the state of various organs through blood circulation, and even affects lifespan. Here a wireless body temperature detection scheme was presented that the temperature was extracted by investigating the out-of-plane (OP) ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) field of 10.2 nm thick La0.7Sr0.3MnO3(LSMO) film using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) technique. Within the range of 34–42 °C, the OP FMR field changes linearly with the increasing or decreasing temperature, and this variation comes from the linear responses of magnetization to the fluctuant temperature. Using this method, a tiny temperature change (< 0.1 °C) of organisms can be detected accurately and sensitively, which shows great potential in body temperature monitoring for humans and mammals.
