A plethora of scientific evidence has pinpointed that teaching English as a foreign or second language (EFL) is difficult, challenging, and emotionally burdensome. Nevertheless, most English language teachers remain committed to the teaching profession and actively engage in the instructional environment. This has inspired several scholars worldwide to explore what personal, emotional, and psychological factors motivate English language teachers to engage enthusiastically in their workplace. While a large body of studies have to date examined the personal, emotional, and psychological predictors of English language teachers’ work engagement, to our knowledge, no inquiry has investigated the role of academic buoyancy and self-efficacy in predicting EFL teachers’ work engagement. Furthermore, the potential impact of demographic variables on the interplay between EFL teachers’ academic buoyancy, self-efficacy, and work engagement has been disregarded. To bridge this gap, we examined the interplay of these three constructs among Chinese EFL teachers. To do so, we administered three pre-designed questionnaires to 242 EFL teachers working in Chinese schools and universities. The collected data were then analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The outcomes of SEM divulged positive and strong relationships between Chinese EFL teachers’ academic buoyancy, self-efficacy, and work engagement. The SEM results also indicated that academic buoyancy and self-efficacy could strongly and favorably predict Chinese EFL teachers’ work engagement. Additionally, the study outcomes disclosed that demographic variables, including gender, educational degree, and teaching experience, directly impacted the interplay between Chinese EFL teachers’ academic buoyancy, self-efficacy, and work engagement. These results may have significant implications for English teachers, teacher trainers, and educational principals.

The adoption of technology in second language (L2) classrooms has been found a complicated process depending on several factors, two of which may play a crucial role in teachers’ technology adoption are emotional intelligence (EI) and self-efficacy beliefs. To date, however, there exists little empirical evidence regarding their interaction to predict L2 teachers’ technology adoption in Asian countries. To bridge this gap, this quantitative study collected data through three questionnaires from a sample of 214 Chinese English as foreign language (EFL) teachers. The results of structural equation modeling (SEM) and regression analysis revealed that both EI and self-efficacy could, respectively, predict 89% and 63% of variances in Chinese EFL teachers’ technology adoption. Drawing on the obtained results, some conclusions, implications, and directions for future research are presented to avid researchers and educators to heighten their knowledge of educational technology and emotions. Bacillus subtilisis a typical strain to bio-stimulate the bioactivity of microorganisms. This paper employed Bacillus subtilisto stimulate lab-cultivated photosynthetic bacteria consortium to treat high COD wastewater under light-aerobic condition. The effluent of sucrose wastewater had COD and NH3-N of 66.22 and 7.65 mg/L, which satisfied the national discharge standard. Thus, a one-step wastewater treatment was realized. Further, with optimum inoculating ratio of 1/50 Bacillus subtilis, the biomass reached 3247 mg/L. Especially, the protein content, carotenoids and bacteriochlorophyll of biomass was 30 %, 50 %, 75 % higher than that of control. Thus, excellent resource recovery was achieved. Further analysis showed that the catalase activity decreased with the increase of inoculation rate of Bacillus subtilis. As for the bacterial composition, the proportion of Ectothiorhodospiraceae, an identified Aerobic Anoxygenic Phototrophic Bacteria (AAPB), increased to 42 %. This paper provides a novel way to achieve one-step purification and resource recovery for concentrated wastewater.

Although multivalent glycosidase inhibitors have shown enhanced glycosidase inhibition activities, further applications and research directions need to be developed in the future. In this paper, two positional isomeric perylene bisimide derivatives (PBI-4DNJ-1and PBI-4DNJ-2) with 1-deoxynojirimycin conjugated were synthesized. Furthermore, PBI-4DNJ-1and PBI-4DNJ-2showed positional isomeric effects on the optical properties, self-assembly behaviors, glycosidase inhibition activities, and hypoglycemic effects. Importantly, PBI-4DNJ-1exhibited potent hypoglycemic effects in mice with 41.33 ± 2.84 and 37.45 ± 3.94% decreases in blood glucose at 15 and 30 min, respectively. The molecular docking results showed that the active fragment of PBI-4DNJ-1has the highest binding energy (9.649 kcal/mol) and the highest total hydrogen bond energy (62.83 kJ/mol), which were related to the positional isomeric effect on the hypoglycemic effect in mice. This work introduced a new means to develop antihyperglycemic agents in the field of multivalent glycomimetics.

The phenomenology involved in severe accidents in nuclear reactors is highly complex. Currently, integrated analysis programs used for severe accident analysis heavily rely on custom empirical parameters, which introduce considerable uncertainty. Therefore, in recent years, the field of severe accidents has shifted its focus toward applying uncertainty analysis methods to quantify uncertainty in safety assessment programs, known as “best estimate plus uncertainty (BEPU).” This approach aids in enhancing our comprehension of these programs and their further development and improvement. This study concentrates on a third-generation pressurized water reactor equipped with advanced active and passive mitigation strategies. Through an Integrated Severe Accident Analysis Program (ISAA), numerical modeling and uncertainty analysis were conducted on severe accidents resulting from large break loss of coolant accidents. Seventeen uncertainty parameters of the ISAA program were meticulously screened. Using Wilks' formula, the developed uncertainty program code, SAUP, was employed to carry out Latin hypercube sampling, while ISAA was employed to execute batch calculations. Statistical analysis was then conducted on two figures of merit, namely hydrogen generation and the release of fission products within the pressure vessel. Uncertainty calculations revealed that hydrogen production and the fraction of fission product released exhibited a normal distribution, ranging from 182.784 to 330.664 kg and from 15.6 to 84.3%, respectively. The ratio of hydrogen production to reactor thermal power fell within the range of 0.0578–0.105. A sensitivity analysis was performed for uncertain input parameters, revealing significant correlations between the failure temperature of the cladding oxide layer, maximum melt flow rate, size of the particulate debris, and porosity of the debris with both hydrogen generation and the release of fission products.

Neonicotinoids are the most widely used insecticides in modern agriculture, and their residues have been found in the environment and food. Previous studies reported that neonicotinoids exert toxic effects in various tissues, but whether they interfered with the female reproductive process remains unknown. In our present research, thiamethoxam was selected as a representative neonicotinoid to establish a mouse toxicity model with gavage. We found that thiamethoxam decreased the ovarian coefficient and disrupted the expression of female hormone receptors, subsequently affecting follicle development. Ovarian granulosa cells from the thiamethoxam exposure group underwent a high level of apoptosis. Using transcriptome analysis, we showed that thiamethoxam exposure altered the expression of multiple oocyte genes related to inflammation, apoptosis, and endoplasmic reticulum stress. Thiamethoxam also adversely affected oocyte and embryo development. Western blotting and fluorescence staining results confirmed that thiamethoxam affected the integrity of DNA, triggered apoptosis, promoted oxidative stress and endoplasmic reticulum stress, and impaired mitochondrial function. Collectively, our results indicated that thiamethoxam exposure disrupts ovarian homeostasis and decreases oocyte quality via endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis induction.

In this paper, based on the model test，numerous deductions and calculations have been done, which was about the settlement of single pile and pile group in homogeneous foundation. With minimum complementary energy of elastic mechanics on the basis of the ritz variational method, through the MATLAB programming, theoretical calculation results were obtained, then comparison and analysis with the model test results were made to verify the feasibility of theoretical calculation.

The article mainly studies the micro electric vehicles shock absorbing coil spring. For its actual working conditions, the finite element analysis software ANSYS is used to analyze the nonlinear of the spring. The large deformation and the contact between flexible surface and flexible surface should be considered in the nonlinear analysis. And we get the spring stress, displacement etc. Then the results are reprocessed. For the shock absorbing coil spring used in the micro electric vehicles, there are no improved research methods and theoretical support, this study provides the basis for optimization design and selection of the shock absorbing coil spring.

Organic intermediate di (chloroethyl) phosphite was synthesized in this work. The influence of reaction temperature, reaction time and solvent on the yield of product was investigated with orthogonal method. The experiment results show that the optimal conditions were molar ration of 2-chloroethannol / phosphorus trichloride 4.0:1, reaction temperature 65~75 °C, reaction time 4h, solvent 60 mL, and the yield of the product reached 89.5%. The asprepared di (chloroethyl) phosphite samples were further characterized by FT-IR and NMR.

An improved control strategy for harmonics restraint of doubly fed wind power system is studied in this paper. Considered low order current harmonics (5th, 7th and so on) caused by the distortion or unbalanced grid voltage conditions and the variations of generator itself parameters, an improved control strategy is proposed. In this control strategy, a proportional integral (PI) regulator paralleled with a harmonic resonant (R) controller in the synchronous reference frame is proposed for restraining the stator current harmonics. The control strategy presented in this paper has not effect on the control of fundamental current, and need not the harmonic separation filter and the sequence decomposition in multi reference frames. To verify the effectiveness of this control strategy, simulation model of DFIG system is developed in Matlab/Simulink, and experiments are implemented on the doubly fed experiment platform. The results of both simulations and experiments show that the control strategy proposed in this paper could restrain harmonic currents effectively and it is easy to implement digital control.

Conductive hydrogels are promising in the flexible wearable electronic applications due to their unique feature of intrinsic stretchability, reversible flexibility, and high electrical conductivity. However, severely poor adaptability under cold or hot environmental conditions along with inferior adhesiveness to various substrates greatly hinders the potential applications in such emerging field. Herein, we describe a mechanically flexible and electrically conductive nanocomposite hydrogel composed of polyacrylamide-co-acrylic acid/chitosan covalent-network reinforced by Ti3C2TxMXene nanosheets within water-glycerol binary solvent via a simple one-pot free radical polymerization. Notably, incorporation of a low content (0.1–0.3 wt%) of MXene promotes the rapid gelation of the polymer molecules in only 10 min. The optimized hydrogel containing 0.2 wt% MXene not only possesses excellent mechanical performance (e.g., tensile elongation of ~1000%) and improved electrical conductivity (~1.34 S/m), but also shows stable temperature tolerance from − 20 to 80 °C and self-adhesion with various substrates (e.g., steel, glass, rubber, plastics and skin) as well as a rapid self-healable feature (~1.3 s). Further, such hybrid MXene hydrogel exhibits dual sensations under different strain (1–600%) and stress (80–3200 Pa) ranges, good applicability for various deformation conditions (tension/bend/compression), and wide temperature adoptability with stable repeatability. Clearly, this versatile MXene nanocomposite hydrogel developed may provide a new route for the rational design and development of advanced skin-like sensor for complex environmental application.
