Abstract

The article focuses on the COORDINATE-Diabetes trial, which aimed to improve the prescribing of guideline-recommended treatments for individuals with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It discusses trial's intervention significantly increased the prescription of appropriate medications; high-intensity statins; angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin receptor blockers; and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors/glucagonlike peptide 1 receptor agonists.
