Today it is a refuge for people escaping the big cities such as Rome, Milan or Florence. In the south of Maremma there are beaches of the Argentario and Apalbio where people like to party. In the north there are beaches with winding wine routes that cut through small old villages. Included are names of hotels, restaurants and directions on how to get there.

The article focuses on the excavation of an Etruscan tomb in Casenovole in Tuscany, Italy by several archaeology students. The tomb was found by archaeology student Andrea Marcocci. Marcocci and other students found many ceramic and bronze funerary objects in it in August 2007. The objects included cremation urns for more than 24 people. The urns were found by Giacomo Ghini, a student.

The article discusses the genetic studies being conducted in Italy, which link the ancient DNA of the Etruscans to the people of the Near East. This is making geneticists believe that the Etruscans, people whose civilization dominated northwest Italy for centuries until the rise of the Roman power in 510 B.C., had originally migrated to Italy from the Near East, bringing their art with them. Another explanation is that people in Etruria had imported cattle from the Near East at some time.
