Fresh-air-fired heat-recovery steam generators (HRSGs) provide an effective and economical means of ensuring continuous steam supply required by the different processes involved in electric-power generation. The HRSGs are equipped with forced- or induced-draft fans which enable them to rapidly convert to fully fired operation when there is no exhaust gas coming from the gas turbines. This significantly increase the plant's efficiency as the changeover to the fresh-air-fired mode is achieved with only a slight change in the operating temperature.
