Journalism in Hong Kong is faced with the problems of corruption and censorship despite of the confidence of many on the political and economic climate in the Special Administrative Region(SAR). Corruption is prevalent in mainland China and journalists feel that this could be carried over to Hong Kong and mar its economic growth. One of the main problems is the possibility of enforcing Article 23 of the Basic Law. This law states that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region can pass laws to prevent any act of treason and sedition against the Central Government.
