The article presents information on a student according to whom one can pursue career in environmental chemistry in Canada easily. Rhian Salmon has gone to the ends of the Earth for her job, spending 18 months in the remote British Antarctic Survey base Halley to study chemicals in the environment. After finishing her degree in chemistry at the University of Leeds in 1997, sheved to Canada for a PhD. in atmospheric chemistry at York University in Toronto. They are part of a project called Chablis, which stands for chemistry of the Antarctic boundary layer and the interface with snow. Surf the web, contact your national Antarctic programme, look for job ads in magazines or papers. Most jobs are for recent graduates and technical staff ∓ a lot of practical jobs like plumbers, electricians, carpenters and mechanics.
