The article reports that the personal papers of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. will remain in Atlanta, Georgia. The papers were slated to be auctioned; however a civic coalition raised $32 million to keep the collection in King's hometown. Critics of the decision cite the stipulations on use of the collection imposed by King's heirs, and state that donating the materials would have been more in line with King's philosophy and legacy.
