Abstract
The article reports that E.W. Scripps will shut down its Rocky Mountain News (RMN) newspaper after having failed to find a buyer for the financially struggling publication. Scripps noted that the newspaper lost $16 million in 2008. A competing paper, the Denver Post, indicated it would begin publishing on Saturdays and make efforts to hire some of RMN's writers.
