At this year's International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City, the Brooklyn, New York-based interior and product design firm twenty2 launched its first collection of hand-screened wallpapers. Created by Krya and Robertson Hartnett, the firm's founding principals, the contemporary patterns are named Maxwell Group, Acco Group, Columbia Heights, and Casa Mila. Each design is hand-screened on vinyl-coated paper or a grass cloth of woven jute and carries an ASTM-E84 Class A fire rating. The firm is currently developing a line of hand-printed fabrics to coordinate with the new wallpapers.

Today, there are 12 presidential libraries, 11 of which are run by the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Typically, a president sets up a private foundation that builds his library, then hands it over to NARA to operate.

This article presents information on wall panels, by Texas-based Durra Building Systems. To create their strawboard panels, Durra applies both high heat and extreme pressure to straw fibers, coaxing out resins that act as a permanent bonding agent. Panels are then dry-extruded and finished with a strong, water-resistant liner paper. The resulting panels are nontoxic and offer fire, impact, mold, and mildew resistance.

Architecture critic of the newspaper "The New York Times," Herbert Muschamp will be moving to a new beat, confirms a source within the paper. Culture Desk editor Jonathan Landman told that Muschamp decided "he's been doing it long enough, and he wants to do something else." Landman notes that Muschamp's move will be of his own volition, and says that he was not at all displeased with the critic's performance. Landman would not say when the move will take place. He added that Muschamp had been thinking of changing assignments for some time, although he could not remember when he and Muschamp had first discussed the topic.

Perhaps no other American city's identity is so entwined with the profession of architecture as buildings of Chicago, Illinois. On April 4, the Art Institute unveiled a hypothetical skyline for the Windy City, one recorded in pixels and on paper rather than in concrete, glass, or steel. Chicago architect Dan Wheeler, of the firm Wheeler Kearns, drew from the Institute's collection of more than 130,000 architectural objects to showcase some 90 drawings, renderings, and models of never-built projects dating from 1880 to the present.
