Abstract

The article discusses papers focusing on research in counselling and psychotherapy with students. Topics discussed include impact of technological challenges on the therapeutic process, issues associated with national database for student counselling and recent longitudinal study of 5,915 US college students found that around one in five reported non-suicidal self-injury.

Abstract

Information about several papers discussed at the annual conference of the American Counseling Association (ACA) in San Francisco, America is presented. The ACA conference has nearly 4000 counselors, trainers and students from all over the U.S. and 30 other countries, thus offering huge diversity. Counselors in the U.S. have been observed to have a much higher status than those in Great Britain; however, the concerns expressed by all appear to be quite similar.
