This paper addresses the challenges of data sparsity and personalization limitations inherent in current recommendation systems when processing extensive academic paper datasets. To overcome these issues, the present work introduces an innovative recommendation model that integrates the wealth of structured information from knowledge graphs and refines the amalgamation of temporal and relational data. By applying attention mechanisms and neural network technologies, the model thoroughly explores the text characteristics of papers and the evolving patterns of user behaviors. Additionally, the model elevates the accuracy and personalization of recommendations by meticulously examining citation patterns among papers and the networks of author collaboration. The experimental findings show that the present model surpasses baseline models on all evaluation metrics, thereby enhancing the precision and personalization of academic paper recommendations.

The aim of this research is to predict the mechanical properties along with the behaviors of standard insulating paper used in power transformers under thermal aging. This is conducted by applying an artificial neural network (ANN) trained with a multiple regression model and a particle swarm optimization (MR-PSO) model. The aging of the paper insulation is monitored directly by the tensile strength and the degree of polymerization of the solid insulation and indirectly by chemical markers using 2-furfuraldehyde compound content in oil (2-FAL). A mathematical model is then developed to simulate the mechanical properties (degree of polymerization (DPV) and tensile index (Tidx)) of the aged insulation paper. First, the datasets obtained from experimental results are used to create the MR model, and then the optimizer method PSO is used to optimize its coefficients in order to improve the MR model. Then, an ANN method is trained using the MR-PSO to create a nonlinear correlation between the DPV and the time, temperature, and 2-FAL values. The acquired results are assessed and compared with the experimental data. The model presents almost the same behavior. In particular, it has the capability to accurately simulate the nonlinear property behavior of insulation under thermal aging with an acceptable margin of error. ObjectiveTo identify and highlight research papers representing noteworthy developments in signals, sensors, and imaging informatics in 2020.MethodA broad literature search was conducted on PubMed and Scopus databases. We combined Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) terms and keywords to construct particular queries for sensors, signals, and image informatics. We only considered papers that have been published in journals providing at least three articles in the query response. Section editors then independently reviewed the titles and abstracts of preselected papers assessed on a three-point Likert scale. Papers were rated from 1 (do not include) to 3 (should be included) for each topical area (sensors, signals, and imaging informatics) and those with an average score of 2 or above were subsequently read and assessed again by two of the three co-editors. Finally, the top 14 papers with the highest combined scores were considered based on consensus.ResultsThe search for papers was executed in January 2021. After removing duplicates and conference proceedings, the query returned a set of 101, 193, and 529 papers for sensors, signals, and imaging informatics, respectively. We filtered out journals that had less than three papers in the query results, reducing the number of papers to 41, 117, and 333, respectively. From these, the co-editors identified 22 candidate papers with more than 2 Likert points on average, from which 14 candidate best papers were nominated after intensive discussion. At least five external reviewers then rated the remaining papers. The four finalist papers were found using the composite rating of all external reviewers. These best papers were approved by consensus of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) Yearbook editorial board.ConclusionsSensors, signals, and imaging informatics is a dynamic field of intense research. The four best papers represent advanced approaches for combining, processing, modeling, and analyzing heterogeneous sensor and imaging data. The selected papers demonstrate the combination and fusion of multiple sensors and sensor networks using electrocardiogram (ECG), electroencephalogram (EEG), or photoplethysmogram (PPG) with advanced data processing, deep and machine learning techniques, and present image processing modalities beyond state-of-the-art that significantly support and further improve medical decision making.

Participants were asked to sign specified names on various types of media and the signatures were scanned or saved digitally for subsequent analysis. In this study, using convolutional neural networks and Siamese neural networks as classifiers and comparators, the performance plunge is revealed and thus considerable dissimilarity between the signatures on different media is implied. To further explore this, cubic Bézier curves are fitted to the signatures using the least square method for quantitative statistical analysis. By analyzing the visual changes in the morphology of strokes, several features of signatures are selected and computed, and the paired t‐test and the Wilcoxon signed‐rank test are implemented, which provides a deeper substantiation and explanation of the findings.

The research groups in computer vision, graphics, and machine learning have dedicated a substantial amount of attention to the areas of 3D object reconstruction, augmentation, and registration. Deep learning is the predominant method used in artificial intelligence for addressing computer vision challenges. However, deep learning on three-dimensional data presents distinct obstacles and is now in its nascent phase. There have been significant advancements in deep learning specifically for three-dimensional data, offering a range of ways to address these issues. This study offers a comprehensive examination of the latest advancements in deep learning methodologies. We examine many benchmark models for the tasks of 3D object registration, augmentation, and reconstruction. We thoroughly analyse their architectures, advantages, and constraints. In summary, this report provides a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in three-dimensional deep learning and highlights unresolved research areas that will need to be addressed in the future. This paper considers the problem of target tracking in complex manoeuvering scenarios with a lack of relevant prior knowledge. This is a challenge for classical model‐based manoeuvering target tracking algorithms because they rely heavily on accurate domain and prior knowledge of target motion. To address this problem, we propose a hybrid‐driven continuous‐time filter algorithm in this paper, which combines the advantages of the model‐driven and data‐driven. We use the stochastic differential equation (SDE) with the acceleration model as the basic framework of the proposed algorithm. In order to deal with unpredictable manoeuvres and unknown perturbations, we adopt neural networks as data‐driven to estimate target accelerations and compensations of composite perturbations in real time using historical and current measurements. And the direction of gradient descent of the neural network is constrained by the motion model, thus the learning efficiency of the network and the interpretability of the proposed algorithm is improved. The proposed algorithm can simultaneously utilise historical trajectory information and domain knowledge as hybrid‐driven to achieve complex manoeuvering target tracking with little prior information. Machine learning (ML), a form of artificial intelligence (AI), is being increasingly employed in neurology. Reported performance metrics often match or exceed the efficiency of average clinicians. The neurologist is easily baffled by the underlying concepts and terminologies associated with ML studies. The superlative performance metrics of ML algorithms often hide the opaque nature of its inner workings. Questions regarding ML model's interpretability and reproducibility of its results in real-world scenarios, need emphasis. Given an abundance of time and information, the expert clinician should be able to deliver comparable predictions to ML models, a useful benchmark while evaluating its performance. Predictive performance metrics of ML models should not be confused with causal inference between its input and output. ML and clinical gestalt should compete in a randomized controlled trial before they can complement each other for screening, triaging, providing second opinions and modifying treatment. Aiming at the imbalance of industrial control system data and the poor detection effect of industrial control intrusion detection systems on network attack traffic problems, we propose an ETM-TBD model based on hybrid machine learning and neural network models. Aiming at the problem of high dimensionality and imbalance in the amount of sample data in the massive data of industrial control systems, this paper proposes an IG-based feature selection method and an oversampling method for SMOTE. In the ETM-TBD model, we propose a hyperparameter optimization method based on Bayesian optimization used to optimize the parameters of the four basic machine learners in the model. By introducing a multi-head-attention mechanism, the Transformer module increases the attention between local features and global features, enabling the discovery of the internal relationship between features. Additionally, the BiGRU is used to preserve the temporal features of the dataset, while the DNN is used to extract deeper features. Finally, the SoftMax classifier is used to classify the output. By analyzing the results of the comparison and ablation experiments, it can be concluded that the F1-score of the ETM-TBD model on a robotic arm dataset is 0.9665 and the model has very low FNR and FPR scores of 0.0263 and 0.0081, respectively. The classification of human face shapes, a pivotal aspect of one's appearance, plays a crucial role in diverse fields like beauty, cosmetics, healthcare, and security. In this paper, we present a multi-step methodology for face shape classification, harnessing the potential of transfer learning and a pretrained EfficientNetV2S neural network. Our approach comprises key phases, including preprocessing, augmentation, training, and testing, ensuring a comprehensive and reliable solution. The preprocessing step involves precise face detection, cropping, and image scaling, laying a solid foundation for accurate feature extraction. Our methodology utilizes a publicly available dataset of female celebrities, comprising five face shape classes: heart, oblong, oval, round, and square. By augmenting this dataset during training, we magnify its diversity, enabling better generalization and enhancing the model's robustness. With the EfficientNetV2S neural network, we employ transfer learning, leveraging pretrained weights to optimize accuracy, training speed, and parameter size. The result is a highly efficient and effective model, which outperforms state-of-the-art approaches on the same dataset, boasting an outstanding overall accuracy of 96.32%. Our findings demonstrate the efficiency of our approach, proving its potential in the field of face shape classification. ThisSpecial Issue presents the latest advances in research and novel applications of speech and language technologies based on the works presented at the sixth edition of the IberSPEECH conference held in Granada in 2022, paying special attention to those focused on Iberian languages. IberSPEECH is the international conference of the Special Interest Group on Iberian Languages (SIG-IL) of the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) and the Spanish Thematic Network on Speech Technologies (Red Temática en Tecnologías del Habla, or RTTH for short). Several researchers were invited to extend the contributions presented at IberSPEECH2022 due to their interest and quality. As a result, the Special Issue is composed of 11 papers that cover different research topics related to speech perception, speech analysis and enhancement, speaker verification and identification, speech production and synthesis, natural language processing, together with several applications and evaluation challenges. De-mining operations are of critical importance for humanitarian efforts and safety in conflict-affected regions. In this paper, we address the challenge of enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of mine detection systems. We present an innovative Deep Learning architecture tailored for pulse induction-based Metallic Mine Detectors (MMD), so called DL-MMD. Our methodology leverages deep neural networks to distinguish amongst nine distinct materials with an exceptional validation accuracy of 93.5%. This high level of precision enables us not only to differentiate between anti-personnel mines, without metal plates but also to detect minuscule 0.2-g vertical paper pins in both mineralized soil and non-mineralized environments. Moreover, through comparative analysis, we demonstrate a substantial 3% and 7% improvement (approx.) in accuracy performance compared to the traditional K-Nearest Neighbors and Support Vector Machine classifiers, respectively. The fusion of deep neural networks with the pulse induction-based MMD not only presents a cost-effective solution but also significantly expedites decision-making processes in de-mining operations, ultimately contributing to improved safety and effectiveness in these critical endeavors. The deep model is widely used and has been demonstrated to have more hidden security risks. An adversarial attack can bypass the traditional means of defense. By modifying the input data, the attack on the deep model is realized, and it is imperceptible to humans. The existing adversarial example generation methods mainly attack the whole image. The optimization iterative direction is easy to predict, and the attack flexibility is low. For more complex scenarios, this paper proposes an edge-restricted adversarial example generation algorithm (Re-AEG) based on semantic segmentation. The algorithm can attack one or more specific objects in the image so that the detector cannot detect the objects. First, the algorithm automatically locates the attack objects according to the application requirements. Through the semantic segmentation algorithm, the attacked object is separated and the mask matrix for the object is generated. The algorithm proposed in this paper can attack the object in the region, converge quickly and successfully deceive the deep detection model. The algorithm only hides some sensitive objects in the image, rather than completely invalidating the detection model and causing reported errors, so it has higher concealment than the previous adversarial example generation algorithms.
