Next-generation wireless networks are expected to develop a novel paradigm of integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) to enable both the high-accuracy sensing and high-speed communications. However, conventional mono-static ISAC systems, which simultaneously transmit and receive at the same equipment, may suffer from severe self-interference, and thus significantly degrade the system performance.To address this issue, this paper studies a multi-static ISAC system for cooperative target localization and communications, where the transmitter transmits ISAC signal to multiple receivers (REs) deployed at different positions. We derive the closed-form Cram\'{e}r-Rao bound (CRB) on the joint estimations of both the transmission delay and Doppler shift for cooperative target localization, and the CRB minimization problem is formulated by considering the cooperative cost and communication rate requirements for the REs. To solve this problem, we first decouple it into two subproblems for RE selection and transmit beamforming, respectively. Then, a minimax linkage-based method is proposed to solve the RE selection subproblem, and a successive convex approximation algorithm is adopted to deal with the transmit beamforming subproblem with non-convex constraints. Finally, numerical results validate our analysis and reveal that our proposed multi-static ISAC scheme achieves better ISAC performance than the conventional mono-static ones when the number of cooperative REs is large.

Using comprehensive exact diagonalization calculations on $\theta \approx 3.7 ^{\circ}$ twisted bilayer MoTe$_2$ ($t$MoTe$_2$), as well as idealized Landau level models also relevant for lower $\theta$, we extract general principles for engineering fractional topological insulators (FTIs) in realistic situations. First, in a Landau level setup at $\nu=1/3+1/3$, we investigate what features of the interaction destroy an FTI. For both pseudopotential interactions and realistic screened Coulomb interactions, we find that sufficient suppression of the short-range repulsion is needed for stabilizing an FTI. We then study $\theta \approx 3.7 ^{\circ}$ $t$MoTe$_2$ with realistic band-mixing and anisotropic non-local dielectric screening. Our finite-size calculations only find an FTI phase at $\nu=-4/3$ in the presence of a significant additional short-range attraction $g$ that acts to counter the Coulomb repulsion at short distances. We discuss how further finite-size drifts, dielectric engineering, Landau level character, and band-mixing effects may reduce the required value of $g$ closer towards the experimentally relevant conditions of $t$MoTe$_2$. Projective calculations into the $n=1$ Landau level, which resembles the second valence band of $\theta\simeq 2.1^\circ$ $t$MoTe$_2$, do not yield FTIs for any $g$, suggesting that FTIs at low-angle $t$MoTe$_2$ for $\nu=-8/3$ and $-10/3$ may be unlikely. While our study highlights the challenges, at least for the fillings considered, to obtaining an FTI with transport plateaus, even in large-angle $t$MoTe$_2$ where fractional Chern insulators are experimentally established, we also provide potential sample-engineering routes to improve the stability of FTI phases., Comment: 6+36 pages

Cleavable metallic antiferromagnets may be of use for low-dissipation spintronic devices; however, few are currently known. Here we present orthorhombic MnRhBi3 as one such compound and present a thorough study of its physical properties. Exfoliation is demonstrated experimentally, and the cleavage energy and electronic structure are examined by density functional theory calculations. It is concluded that MnRhBi3 is a van der Waals layered material that cleaves easily between neighboring Bi layers, and that the Bi atoms have lone pairs extending into the van der Waals gaps. A series of four phase transitions are observed below room temperature, and neutron diffraction shows that at least two of the transitions involve the formation of antiferromagnetic order. Anomalous thermal expansion points to a crystallographic phase transition and/or strong magnetoelastic coupling. This work reveals a complex phase evolution in MnRhBi3 and establishes this cleavable antiferromagnetic metal as an interesting material for studying the interplay of structure, magnetism, and transport in the bulk and ultrathin limits as well as the role of lone pair electrons in interface chemistry and proximity effects in van der Waals heterostructures.

Plasmon polaritons are formed by coupling light with delocalized electrons. The half-light and half-matter nature of plasmon polaritons endows them with unparalleled tunability via a range of parameters, such as dielectric environments and carrier density. Therefore, plasmon polaritons are expected to be tuned when in proximity to polar materials since the carrier density is tuned by an electrostatic potential; conversely, the plasmon polariton response might enable the sensing of polarization. Here, we use infrared nano-imaging and nano-photocurrent measurements to investigate heterostructures composed of graphene and twisted hexagonal boron nitride (t-BN), with alternating polarization in a triangular network of moir\'e stacking domains. We observe that the carrier density and the corresponding plasmonic response of graphene are modulated by polar domains in t-BN. In addition, we demonstrate that the nanometer-wide domain walls of graphene moir\'es superlattices, created by the polar domains of t-BN, provide momenta to assist the plasmonic excitations. Furthermore, our studies establish that the plasmon of graphene could function as a delicate sensor for polarization textures. The evolution of polarization textures in t-BN under uniform electric fields is tomographically examined via plasmonic imaging. Strikingly, no noticeable polarization switching is observed under applied electric fields up to 0.23 V/nm, at variance with transport reports. Among expanding discoveries of quantum phases in moir\'e superlattices, correlated insulators stand out as both the most stable and most commonly observed. Despite the central importance of these states in moir\'e physics, little is known about their underlying nature. Here, we use pump-probe spectroscopy to show distinct time-domain signatures of correlated insulators at fillings of one (v = -1) and two (v = -2) holes per moir\'e unit cell in the angle-aligned WSe2/WS2 system. Following photo-doping, we find that the disordering time of the v = -1 state is independent of excitation density (n_ex), as expected from the characteristic phonon response time associated with a polaronic state. In contrast, the disordering time of the v = -2 state scales with (n_ex)^-0.5, in agreement with plasmonic screening from free holons and doublons. These states display disparate reordering behavior dominated either by first order (v = -1) or second order (v = -2) recombination, suggesting the presence of Hubbard excitons and free carrier-like holons/doublons, respectively. The recent observation of the fractional quantum anomalous Hall effect in moir\'e fractional Chern insulators (FCI) provides opportunities for investigating zero magnetic field anyons. So far, both experimental and theoretical results suggest that filling > 1/3 FCI states in the first Chern band share features with those of the lowest Landau level (LL). To create the possibility of realizing non-Abelian anyons, one route is to engineer higher flat Chern bands that mimic higher LLs. Here, we investigate the interaction, topology, and ferromagnetism of the second moir\'e miniband in twisted MoTe2 bilayer (tMoTe2). Around filling factor v = -3, i.e., half-filling of the second miniband, we uncover spontaneous ferromagnetism and an incipient Chern insulator state. By measuring the anomalous Hall effect as a function of twist angle, we find that the Chern numbers (C) of the top two moir\'e flat bands have opposite sign (C = -+1) at twist angles above 3.1{\deg} but the same sign (C = -1) around 2.6{\deg}. This observation is consistent with the recently predicted twist-angle dependent band topology, resulting from the competition between moir\'e ferroelectricity and piezoelectricity. As we increase the magnetic field, only the small twist-angle device (2.6{\deg}) experiences a topological phase transition with an emergent C = -2 state. This is attributed to a Zeeman field-induced band crossing between opposite valleys, with the determined C = -1 for the top two bands. In this letter, we design a federated contrastive learning (FedCL) framework aimed at supporting personalized semantic communication. Our FedCL enables collaborative training of local semantic encoders across multiple clients and a global semantic decoder owned by the base station. This framework supports heterogeneous semantic encoders since it does not require client-side model aggregation. Furthermore, to tackle the semantic imbalance issue arising from heterogeneous datasets across distributed clients, we employ contrastive learning to train a semantic centroid generator (SCG). This generator obtains representative global semantic centroids that exhibit intra-semantic compactness and inter-semantic separability. Consequently, it provides superior supervision for learning discriminative local semantic features. Additionally, we conduct theoretical analysis to quantify the convergence performance of FedCL. Simulation results verify the superiority of the proposed FedCL framework compared to other distributed learning benchmarks in terms of task performance and robustness under different numbers of clients and channel conditions, especially in low signal-to-noise ratio and highly heterogeneous data scenarios., Comment: IEEE Communications Letters

Semantic communication, as a revolutionary communication architecture, is considered a promising novel communication paradigm. Unlike traditional symbol-based error-free communication systems, semantic-based visual communication systems extract, compress, transmit, and reconstruct images at the semantic level. However, widely used image similarity evaluation metrics, whether pixel-based MSE or PSNR or structure-based MS-SSIM, struggle to accurately measure the loss of semantic-level information of the source during system transmission. This presents challenges in evaluating the performance of visual semantic communication systems, especially when comparing them with traditional communication systems. To address this, we propose a semantic evaluation metric -- SeSS (Semantic Similarity Score), based on Scene Graph Generation and graph matching, which shifts the similarity scores between images into semantic-level graph matching scores. Meanwhile, semantic similarity scores for tens of thousands of image pairs are manually annotated to fine-tune the hyperparameters in the graph matching algorithm, aligning the metric more closely with human semantic perception. The performance of the SeSS is tested on different datasets, including (1)images transmitted by traditional and semantic communication systems at different compression rates, (2)images transmitted by traditional and semantic communication systems at different signal-to-noise ratios, (3)images generated by large-scale model with different noise levels introduced, and (4)cases of images subjected to certain special transformations. The experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of SeSS, indicating that the metric can measure the semantic-level differences in semantic-level information of images and can be used for evaluation in visual semantic communication systems.

In moir\'e materials with flat electronic bands and suitable quantum geometry, strong correlations can give rise to novel topological states of matter. The nontrivial band topology of twisted molybdenum ditelluride (tMoTe$_2$) -- responsible for its fractional quantum anomalous Hall (FQAH) states -- is predicted to arise from a layer-pseudospin skyrmion lattice. Tracing the layer polarization of wavefunctions within the moir\'e unit cell can thus offer crucial insights into the band topology. Here, we use scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM/S) to probe the layer-pseudospin skyrmion textures of tMoTe$_2$. We do this by simultaneously visualizing the moir\'e lattice structure and the spatial localization of its electronic states. We find that the wavefunctions associated with the topological flat bands exhibit a spatially-dependent layer polarization within the moir\'e unit cell. This is in excellent agreement with our theoretical modeling, thereby revealing a direct microscopic connection between the structural properties of tMoTe$_2$ and its band topology. In the absence of time reversal symmetry, orbital magnetization provides a sensitive probe of topology and interactions, with particularly rich phenomenology in Chern insulators where topological edge states carry large equilibrium currents. Here, we use a nanoscale superconducting sensor to map the magnetic fringe fields in twisted bilayers of MoTe$_2$, where transport and optical sensing experiments have revealed the formation of fractional Chern insulator (FCI) states at zero magnetic field. At a temperature of 1.6K, we observe oscillations in the local magnetic field associated with fillings $\nu=-1,-2/3,-3/5,-4/7$ and $-5/9$ of the first moir\'e hole band, consistent with the formation of FCIs at these fillings. By quantitatively reconstructing the magnetization, we determine the local thermodynamic gaps of the most robust FCI state at $\nu=-2/3$, finding $^{-2/3}\Delta$ as large as 7 meV. Spatial mapping of the charge density- and displacement field-tuned magnetic phase diagram further allows us to characterize sample disorder, which we find to be dominated by both inhomogeneity in the effective unit cell area as well as inhomogeneity in the band edge offset and bound dipole moment. Our results highlight both the challenges posed by structural disorder in the study of twisted homobilayer moir\'e systems and the opportunities afforded by the remarkably robust nature of the underlying correlated topological states.

Fine-tuning large-scale pre-trained models via transfer learning is an emerging important paradigm for a wide range of downstream tasks, with performance heavily reliant on extensive data. Federated learning (FL), as a distributed framework, provides a secure solution to train models on local datasets while safeguarding raw sensitive data. However, FL networks encounter high communication costs due to the massive parameters of large-scale pre-trained models, necessitating parameter-efficient methods. Notably, parameter efficient fine tuning, such as Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA), has shown remarkable success in fine-tuning pre-trained models. However, prior research indicates that the fixed parameter budget may be prone to the overfitting or slower convergence. To address this challenge, we propose a Simulated Annealing-based Federated Learning with LoRA tuning (SA-FedLoRA) approach by reducing trainable parameters. Specifically, SA-FedLoRA comprises two stages: initiating and annealing. (1) In the initiating stage, we implement a parameter regularization approach during the early rounds of aggregation, aiming to mitigate client drift and accelerate the convergence for the subsequent tuning. (2) In the annealing stage, we allocate higher parameter budget during the early 'heating' phase and then gradually shrink the budget until the 'cooling' phase. This strategy not only facilitates convergence to the global optimum but also reduces communication costs. Experimental results demonstrate that SA-FedLoRA is an efficient FL, achieving superior performance to FedAvg and significantly reducing communication parameters by up to 93.62%.

Semantic communication has drawn substantial attention as a promising paradigm to achieve effective and intelligent communications. However, efficient image semantic communication encounters challenges with a lower testing compression ratio (CR) compared to the training phase. To tackle this issue, we propose an innovative semantic knowledge base (SKB)-enabled generative semantic communication system for image classification and image generation tasks. Specifically, a lightweight SKB, comprising class-level information, is exploited to guide the semantic communication process, which enables us to transmit only the relevant indices. This approach promotes the completion of the image classification task at the source end and significantly reduces the transmission load. Meanwhile, the category-level knowledge in the SKB facilitates the image generation task by allowing controllable generation, making it possible to generate favorable images in resource-constrained scenarios. Additionally, semantic accuracy is introduced as a new metric to validate the performance of semantic transmission powered by the SKB. Evaluation results indicate that the proposed method outperforms the benchmarks and achieves superior performance with minimal transmission overhead, especially in the low SNR regime., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures

Moir\'e materials host a wealth of intertwined correlated and topological states of matter, all arising from flat electronic bands with nontrivial quantum geometry. A prominent example is the family of alternating-twist magic-angle graphene stacks, which exhibit symmetry-broken states at rational fillings of the moir\'e band and superconductivity close to half filling. Here, we introduce a second family of twisted graphene multilayers made up of twisted sheets of $M$- and $N$-layer Bernal-stacked graphene flakes. Calculations indicate that applying an electric displacement field isolates a flat and topological moir\'e conduction band that is primarily localized to a single graphene sheet below the moir\'e interface. Phenomenologically, the result is a striking similarity in the hierarchies of symmetry-broken phases across this family of twisted graphene multilayers. Large Language Models (LLMs) have achieved significant success in various natural language processing tasks, but how wireless communications can support LLMs has not been extensively studied. In this paper, we propose a wireless distributed LLMs paradigm based on Mixture of Experts (MoE), named WDMoE, deploying LLMs collaboratively across edge servers of base station (BS) and mobile devices in the wireless communications system. Specifically, we decompose the MoE layer in LLMs by deploying the gating network and the preceding neural network layer at BS, while distributing the expert networks across the devices. This arrangement leverages the parallel capabilities of expert networks on distributed devices. Moreover, to overcome the instability of wireless communications, we design an expert selection policy by taking into account both the performance of the model and the end-to-end latency, which includes both transmission delay and inference delay. Evaluations conducted across various LLMs and multiple datasets demonstrate that WDMoE not only outperforms existing models, such as Llama 2 with 70 billion parameters, but also significantly reduces end-to-end latency., Comment: submitted to IEEE conference

Lightweight and efficient deep joint source-channel coding (JSCC) is a key technology for semantic communications. In this paper, we design a novel JSCC scheme named MambaJSCC, which utilizes a visual state space model with channel adaptation (VSSM-CA) block as its backbone for transmitting images over wireless channels. The VSSM-CA block utilizes VSSM to integrate two-dimensional images with the state space, enabling feature extraction and encoding processes to operate with linear complexity. It also incorporates channel state information (CSI) via a newly proposed CSI embedding method. This method deploys a shared CSI encoding module within both the encoder and decoder to encode and inject the CSI into each VSSM-CA block, improving the adaptability of a single model to varying channel conditions. Experimental results show that MambaJSCC not only outperforms Swin Transformer based JSCC (SwinJSCC) but also significantly reduces parameter size, computational overhead, and inference delay (ID). For example, with employing an equal number of the VSSM-CA blocks and the Swin Transformer blocks, MambaJSCC achieves a 0.48 dB gain in peak-signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) over SwinJSCC while requiring only 53.3% multiply-accumulate operations, 53.8% of the parameters, and 44.9% of ID., Comment: submitted to IEEE conference

In this paper, we propose a novel semantic digital analog converter (sDAC) for the compatibility of semantic communications and digital communications. Most of the current semantic communication systems are based on the analog modulations, ignoring their incorporation with digital communication systems, which are more common in practice. In fact, quantization methods in traditional communication systems are not appropriate for use in the era of semantic communication as these methods do not consider the semantic information inside symbols. In this case, any bit flip caused by channel noise can lead to a great performance drop. To address this challenge, sDAC is proposed. It is a simple yet efficient and generative module used to realize digital and analog bi-directional conversion. On the transmitter side, continuous values from the encoder are converted to binary bits and then can be modulated by any existing methods. After transmitting through the noisy channel, these bits get demodulated by paired methods and converted back to continuous values for further semantic decoding. The whole progress does not depend on any specific semantic model, modulation methods, or channel conditions. In the experiment section, the performance of sDAC is tested across different semantic models, semantic tasks, modulation methods, channel conditions and quantization orders. Test results show that the proposed sDAC has great generative properties and channel robustness.

Fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE) is a prime example of topological quantum many-body phenomena, arising from the interplay between strong electron correlation, topological order, and time reversal symmetry breaking. Recently, a lattice analog of FQHE at zero magnetic field has been observed, confirming the existence of a zero-field fractional Chern insulator (FCI). Despite this, the bulk-edge correspondence -- a hallmark of FCI featuring an insulating bulk with conductive edges -- has not been directly observed. In fact, this correspondence has not been visualized in any system for fractional states due to experimental challenges. Here we report the imaging of FCI edge states in twisted MoTe2 by employing a newly developed modality of microwave-impedance microscopy. By tuning the carrier density, we observe the system evolving between metallic and FCI states, the latter of which exhibits insulating bulk and conductive edges as expected from bulk-boundary correspondence. We also observe the evolution of edge states across the topological phase transition from an incompressible Chern insulator state to a metal and finally to a putative charge ordered insulating state as a function of interlayer electric field. The local measurement further reveals tantalizing prospects of neighboring domains with different fractional orders. These findings pave the way for research into topologically protected 1D interfaces between various anyonic states at zero magnetic field, such as topological entanglement entropy, Halperin-Laughlin interfaces, and the creation of non-abelian anyons.

Uniaxial strain has been widely used as a powerful tool for investigating and controlling the properties of quantum materials. However, existing strain techniques have so far mostly been limited to use with bulk crystals. Although recent progress has been made in extending the application of strain to two-dimensional van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures, these techniques have been limited to optical characterization and extremely simple electrical device geometries. Here, we report a piezoelectric-based \textit{in situ} uniaxial strain technique enabling simultaneous electrical transport and optical spectroscopy characterization of dual-gated vdW heterostructure devices. Critically, our technique remains compatible with vdW heterostructure devices of arbitrary complexity fabricated on conventional silicon/silicon dioxide wafer substrates. We demonstrate a large and continuously tunable strain of up to $-0.15\%$ at millikelvin temperatures, with larger strain values also likely achievable. We quantify the strain transmission from the silicon wafer to the vdW heterostructure, and further demonstrate the ability of strain to modify the electronic properties of twisted bilayer graphene. Van der Waals (vdW) structures of two-dimensional materials host a broad range of physical phenomena. New opportunities arise if different functional layers may be remotely modulated or coupled in a device structure. Here we demonstrate the in-situ coherent modulation of moir\'e excitons and correlated Mott insulators in transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) homo- or hetero-bilayers with on-chip terahertz (THz) waves. Using common dual-gated device structures, each consisting of a TMD moir\'e bilayer sandwiched between two few-layer graphene (fl-Gr) gates with hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) spacers, we launch coherent phonon wavepackets at ~0.4-1 THz from the fl-Gr gates by femtosecond laser excitation. The waves travel through the h-BN spacer, arrive at the TMD bilayer with precise timing, and coherently modulate the moir\'e excitons or the Mott states. These results demonstrate that the fl-Gr gates, often used for electrical control of the material properties, can serve as effective on-chip opto-elastic transducers to generate THz waves for the coherent control and vibrational entanglement of functional layers in commonly used moir\'e devices., Comment: 11 pages, 4 figures, 12 pages SI. arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:2307.16563

In this paper, we propose an adaptive panoramic video semantic transmission (APVST) framework enabled by rate splitting multiple access (RSMA). The APVST framework consists of a semantic transmitter and receiver, utilizing a deep joint source-channel coding structure to adaptively extract and encode semantic features from panoramic frames. To achieve higher spectral efficiency and conserve bandwidth, APVST employs an entropy model and a dimension-adaptive module to control the transmission rate. Additionally, we take weighted-to-spherically-uniform peak signal-to-noise ratio (WS-PSNR) and weighted-to-spherically-uniform structural similarity (WS-SSIM) as distortion evaluation metrics for panoramic videos and design a weighted self-attention module for APVST. This module integrates weights and feature maps to enhance the quality of the immersive experience. Considering the overlap in the field of view when users watch panoramic videos, we further utilize RSMA to split the required panoramic video semantic streams into common and private messages for transmission. We propose an RSMA-enabled semantic stream transmission scheme and formulate a joint problem of latency and immersive experience quality by optimizing the allocation ratios of power, common rate, and channel bandwidth, aiming to maximize the quality of service (QoS) scores for users. To address the above problem, we propose a deep reinforcement learning algorithm based on proximal policy optimization (PPO) with high efficiency to handle dynamically changing environments. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed APVST framework saves up to 20% and 50% of channel bandwidth compared to other semantic and traditional video transmission schemes, respectively. Moreover, our study confirms the efficiency of RSMA in panoramic video transmission, achieving performance gains of 13% and 20% compared to NOMA and OFDMA.

Multi-stable mechanical structures find cutting-edge applications across various domains due to their reconfigurability, which offers innovative possibilities for engineering and technology advancements. This study explores the emergence of topological states in a one-dimensional chain-like multi-stable mechanical metamaterial composed of bistable units through a combination of mechanical and optical experiments. Drawing inspiration from the SSH (Su-Schrieffer-Heeger) model in condensed matter physics, we leverage the unique mechanical properties of the reconfigurable ligament-oscillator metamaterial to engineer a system with coexisting topological phases. Based on the one-dimensional periodic bistable chain, there is an exponential decay diffusion of elastic energy from both end boundaries towards the interior of the body. Experimental characterizations demonstrate the existence of stable topological phases within the reconfigurable multi-stable mechanical metamaterial. The findings underscore the potential of reconfigurable mechanical metamaterials as versatile platforms for flexibly exploring and manipulating topological phenomena, with applications ranging from impact resistance to energy harvesting and information processing.

Cross-technology communication (CTC) is a promising technique that enables direct communications among incompatible wireless technologies without needing hardware modification. However, it has not been widely adopted in real-world applications due to its inefficiency and unreliability. To address this issue, this paper proposes a deep joint source-channel coding (DJSCC) scheme to enable efficient and reliable CTC. The proposed scheme builds a neural-network-based encoder and decoder at the sender side and the receiver side, respectively, to achieve two critical tasks simultaneously: 1) compressing the messages to the point where only their essential semantic meanings are preserved; 2) ensuring the robustness of the semantic meanings when they are transmitted across incompatible technologies. The scheme incorporates existing CTC coding algorithms as domain knowledge to guide the encoder-decoder pair to learn the characteristics of CTC links better. Moreover, the scheme constructs shared semantic knowledge for the encoder and decoder, allowing semantic meanings to be converted into very few bits for cross-technology transmissions, thus further improving the efficiency of CTC. Extensive simulations verify that the proposed scheme can reduce the transmission overhead by up to 97.63\% and increase the structural similarity index measure by up to 734.78%, compared with the state-of-the-art CTC scheme.

Codebook-based generative semantic communication attracts increasing attention, since only indices are required to be transmitted when the codebook is shared between transmitter and receiver. However, due to the fact that the semantic relations among code vectors are not necessarily related to the distance of the corresponding code indices, the performance of the codebook-enabled semantic communication system is susceptible to the channel noise. Thus, how to improve the system robustness against the noise requires careful design. This paper proposes a robust codebook-assisted image semantic communication system, where semantic codec and codebook are first jointly constructed, and then vector-to-index transformer is designed guided by the codebook to eliminate the effects of channel noise, and achieve image generation. Thanks to the assistance of the high-quality codebook to the Transformer, the generated images at the receiver outperform those of the compared methods in terms of visual perception. Vector quantization-based image semantic communication systems have successfully boosted transmission efficiency, but face a challenge with conflicting requirements between codebook design and digital constellation modulation. Traditional codebooks need a wide index range, while modulation favors few discrete states. To address this, we propose a multilevel generative semantic communication system with a two-stage training framework. In the first stage, we train a high-quality codebook, using a multi-head octonary codebook (MOC) to compress the index range. We also integrate a residual vector quantization (RVQ) mechanism for effective multilevel communication. In the second stage, a noise reduction block (NRB) based on Swin Transformer is introduced, coupled with the multilevel codebook from the first stage, serving as a high-quality semantic knowledge base (SKB) for generative feature restoration. The antiferromagnetic layered compound EuCd$_2$As$_2$ is widely considered as a leading candidate of ideal Weyl semimetal, featuring a single pair of Weyl nodes in its field-induced ferromagnetic (FM) state. Nevertheless, this view has recently been challenged by an optical spectroscopy study, which suggests that it is a magnetic semiconductor. In this study, we have successfully synthesized highly insulating EuCd$_2$As$_2$ crystals with carrier density reaching as low as $2\times 10^{15}$ $\text{cm}^{-3}$. The magneto-transport measurements revealed a progressive decrease of the anomalous Hall conductivity (AHC) by several orders of magnitude as the carrier density decreases. This behavior contradicts with what is expected from the intrinsic AHC generated by the Weyl points, which is independent of carrier density as the Fermi level approaches the charge neutrality point. In contrast, the scaling relationship between AHC and longitudinal conductivity aligns with the characteristics of variable range hopping insulators. Our results suggest that EuCd$_2$As$_2$ is a magnetic semiconductor rather than a topological Weyl semimetal.

Semantic communication, as a novel communication paradigm, has attracted the interest of many scholars, with multi-user, multi-input multi-output (MIMO) scenarios being one of the critical contexts. This paper presents a semantic importance-aware based communication system (SIA-SC) over MIMO Rayleigh fading channels. Combining the semantic symbols' inequality and the equivalent subchannels of MIMO channels based on Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) maximizes the end-to-end semantic performance through the new layer mapping method. For multi-user scenarios, a method of semantic interference cancellation is proposed. Furthermore, a new metric, namely semantic information distortion (SID), is established to unify the expressions of semantic performance, which is affected by channel bandwidth ratio (CBR) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). With the help of the proposed metric, we derived performance expressions and Semantic Outage Probability (SOP) of SIA-SC for Single-User Single-Input Single-Output (SU-SISO), Single-User MIMO (SU-MIMO), Multi-Users SISO (MU-MIMO) and Multi-Users MIMO (MU-MIMO) scenarios. Numerical experiments show that SIA-SC can significantly improve semantic performance across various scenarios.

When two different electronic materials are brought together, the resultant interface often shows unexpected quantum phenomena, including interfacial superconductivity and Fu-Kane topological superconductivity (TSC). Here, we use molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) to synthesize heterostructures formed by stacking together two magnetic materials, a ferromagnetic topological insulator (TI) and an antiferromagnetic iron chalcogenide (FeTe). We discover emergent interface-induced superconductivity in these heterostructures and demonstrate the trifecta occurrence of superconductivity, ferromagnetism, and topological band structure in the magnetic TI layer, the three essential ingredients of chiral TSC. The unusual coexistence of ferromagnetism and superconductivity can be attributed to the high upper critical magnetic field that exceeds the Pauli paramagnetic limit for conventional superconductors at low temperatures. The magnetic TI/FeTe heterostructures with robust superconductivity and atomically sharp interfaces provide an ideal wafer-scale platform for the exploration of chiral TSC and Majorana physics, constituting an important step toward scalable topological quantum computation., Comment: 14 pages, 4 figures. As a new communication paradigm, semantic communication has received widespread attention in communication fields. However, since the decoding of semantic signals relies on contextual knowledge, misalignment between the starting position of the semantic signal and the AI-based semantic decoder would prevent source signal recovery and reconstruction. To achieve more precise semantic communication, this study proposes an image-based semantic synchronization method leveraging intrinsic semantic features of image content. Specifically, a shared synchronized image (SyncImg) is encoded into a synchronization vector header at the transmitter and sent to the receiver. The receiver adopts a sliding window semantic decoder combined with classification and template matching methods to locate the synchronization point. Experimental results demonstrate that compared with traditional methods, the proposed method achieves a lower miss detected ratio (MDR) and root-mean-square error (RMSE) under low signal-to-noise ratios, realizing accurate synchronization of semantic signals across different devices.

In this paper, a cooperative communication network based on energy-harvesting (EH) decode-and-forward (DF) relays is proposed. For relay nodes, there is harvest-storage-use (HSU) structure in this system. And energy can be obtained from the surrounding environment through energy buffering. In order to improve the performance of the communication system, the opportunistic routing algorithm and the generalized selection combining (GSC) algorithm are adopted in this communication system. In addition, from discrete-time continuous-state space Markov chain model (DCSMC), a theoretical expression of the energy limiting distribution stored in infinite buffers is derived. Through using the probability distribution and state transition matrix, the theoretical expressions of system outage probability, throughput and time cost of per packet are obtained. Through the simulation verification, the theoretical results are in good agreement with the simulation results.

Downlink reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) systems are considered with far-field, near-field, and hybrid-far-near-field channels. According to the angular or distance information contained in the received signals, 1) a distance-based codebook is designed for near-field MIMO channels, based on which a hierarchical beam training scheme is proposed to reduce the training overhead; 2) a combined angular-distance codebook is designed for mixed-far-near-field MIMO channels, based on which a two-stage beam training scheme is proposed to achieve alignment in the angular and distance domains separately. For maximizing the achievable rate while reducing the complexity, an alternating optimization algorithm is proposed to carry out the joint optimization iteratively. Specifically, the RIS coefficient matrix is optimized through the beam training process, the optimal combining matrix is obtained from the closed-form solution for the mean square error (MSE) minimization problem, and the active beamforming matrix is optimized by exploiting the relationship between the achievable rate and MSE. Numerical results reveal that: 1) the proposed beam training schemes achieve near-optimal performance with a significantly decreased training overhead; 2) compared to the angular-only far-field channel model, taking the additional distance information into consideration will effectively improve the achievable rate when carrying out beam design for near-field communications., Comment: 13 pages, 11 figures

Mobile edge computing (MEC) networks bring computing and storage capabilities closer to edge devices, which reduces latency and improves network performance. However, to further reduce transmission and computation costs while satisfying user-perceived quality of experience, a joint optimization in computing, pushing, and caching is needed. In this paper, we formulate the joint-design problem in MEC networks as an infinite-horizon discounted-cost Markov decision process and solve it using a deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-based framework that enables the dynamic orchestration of computing, pushing, and caching. Through the deep networks embedded in the DRL structure, our framework can implicitly predict user future requests and push or cache the appropriate content to effectively enhance system performance. One issue we encountered when considering three functions collectively is the curse of dimensionality for the action space. To address it, we relaxed the discrete action space into a continuous space and then adopted soft actor-critic learning to solve the optimization problem, followed by utilizing a vector quantization method to obtain the desired discrete action. Additionally, an action correction method was proposed to compress the action space further and accelerate the convergence. Our simulations under the setting of a general single-user, single-server MEC network with dynamic transmission link quality demonstrate that the proposed framework effectively decreases transmission bandwidth and computing cost by proactively pushing data on future demand to users and jointly optimizing the three functions. Ever since the discovery of the charge density wave (CDW) transition in the kagome metal CsV$_3$Sb$_5$, the nature of its symmetry breaking is under intense debate. While evidence suggests that the rotational symmetry is already broken at the CDW transition temperature ($T_{\rm CDW}$), an additional electronic nematic instability well below $T_{\rm CDW}$ has been reported based on the diverging elastoresistivity coefficient in the anisotropic channel ($m_{E_{2g}}$). Verifying the existence of a nematic transition below $T_{\rm CDW}$ is not only critical for establishing the correct description of the CDW order parameter, but also important for understanding low-temperature superconductivity. Here, we report elastoresistivity measurements of CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ using three different techniques probing both isotropic and anisotropic symmetry channels. Contrary to previous reports, we find the anisotropic elastoresistivity coefficient $m_{E_{2g}}$ is temperature-independent, except for a step jump at $T_{\rm CDW}$. The absence of nematic fluctuations is further substantiated by measurements of the elastocaloric effect, which show no enhancement associated with nematic susceptibility. On the other hand, the symmetric elastoresistivity coefficient $m_{A_{1g}}$ increases below $T_{\rm CDW}$, reaching a peak value of 90 at $T^* = 20$ K. Stacking monolayer semiconductors results in moir\'e patterns that host many correlated and topological electronic phenomena, but measurements of the basic electronic structure underpinning these phenomena are scarce. Here, we investigate the properties of the conduction band in moir\'e heterobilayers using submicron angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy with electrostatic gating, focusing on the example of WS2/WSe2. We find that at all twist angles the conduction band edge is the K-point valley of the WS2, with a band gap of 1.58 +- 0.03 eV. By resolving the conduction band dispersion, we observe an unexpectedly small effective mass of 0.15 +- 0.02 m_e. In addition, we observe replicas of the conduction band displaced by reciprocal lattice vectors of the moir\'e superlattice. We present arguments and evidence that the replicas are due to modification of the conduction band states by the moir\'e potential rather than to final-state diffraction. Interestingly, the replicas display an intensity pattern with reduced, 3-fold symmetry, which we show implicates the pseudo vector potential associated with in-plane strain in moir\'e band formation., Comment: Main text: 12 pages, 4 figures. Topological properties in quantum materials are often governed by symmetry and tuned by crystal structure and external fields, and hence symmetry-sensitive nonlinear optical measurements in a magnetic field are a valuable probe. Here we report nonlinear magneto-optical second harmonic generation (SHG) studies of non-magnetic topological materials including bilayer WTe2, monolayer WSe2 and bulk TaAs. The polarization-resolved patterns of optical SHG under magnetic field show nonlinear Kerr rotation in these time-reversal symmetric materials. For materials with three-fold rotational symmetric lattice structure, the SHG polarization pattern rotates just slightly in a magnetic field, whereas in those with mirror or two-fold rotational symmetry the SHG polarization pattern rotates greatly and distorts. These different magneto-SHG characters can be understood by considering the superposition of the magnetic field-induced time-noninvariant nonlinear optical tensor and the crystal-structure-based time-invariant counterpart. The situation is further clarified by scrutinizing the Faraday rotation, whose subtle interplay with crystal symmetry accounts for the diverse behavior of the extrinsic nonlinear Kerr rotation in different materials. Ferroelectricity, a spontaneous and reversible electric polarization, is found in certain classes of van der Waals (vdW) material heterostructures. The discovery of ferroelectricity in twisted vdW layers provides new opportunities to engineer spatially dependent electric and optical properties associated with the configuration of moir\'e superlattice domains and the network of domain walls. Here, we employ near-field infrared nano-imaging and nano-photocurrent measurements to study ferroelectricity in minimally twisted WSe2. The ferroelectric domains are visualized through the imaging of the plasmonic response in a graphene monolayer adjacent to the moir\'e WSe2 bilayers. Specifically, we find that the ferroelectric polarization in moir\'e domains is imprinted on the plasmonic response of the graphene. Complementary nano-photocurrent measurements demonstrate that the optoelectronic properties of graphene are also modulated by the proximal ferroelectric domains. Our approach represents an alternative strategy for studying moir\'e ferroelectricity at native length scales and opens promising prospects for (opto)electronic devices., Comment: 19 pages, 3 figures

Niobium halides, Nb3X8 (X = Cl,Br,I), which are predicted two-dimensional magnets, have recently gotten attention due to their breathing kagome geometry. Here, we have studied the electronic structure of Nb3Br8 by using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and first-principles calculations. ARPES results depict the presence of multiple flat and weakly dispersing bands. These bands are well explained by the theoretical calculations, which show they have Nb d character indicating their origination from the Nb atoms forming the breathing kagome plane. This van der Waals material can be easily thinned down via mechanical exfoliation to the ultrathin limit and such ultrathin samples are stable as depicted from the time-dependent Raman spectroscopy measurements at room temperature. This paper develops a Decentralized Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (Dec-MARL) method to solve the SoC balancing problem in the distributed energy storage system (DESS). First, the SoC balancing problem is formulated into a finite Markov decision process with action constraints derived from demand balance, which can be solved by Dec-MARL. Specifically, the first-order average consensus algorithm is utilized to expand the observations of the DESS state in a fully-decentralized way, and the initial actions (i.e., output power) are decided by the agents (i.e., energy storage units) according to these observations. In order to get the final actions in the allowable range, a counterfactual demand balance algorithm is proposed to balance the total demand and the initial actions. Next, the agents execute the final actions and get local rewards from the environment, and the DESS steps into the next state. Finally, through the first-order average consensus algorithm, the agents get the average reward and the expended observation of the next state for later training. By the above procedure, Dec-MARL reveals outstanding performance in a fully-decentralized system without any expert experience or constructing any complicated model. Besides, it is flexible and can be extended to other decentralized multi-agent systems straightforwardly. Extensive simulations have validated the effectiveness and efficiency of Dec-MARL.

Electronic nematicity, a state in which rotational symmetry is spontaneously broken, has become a familiar characteristic of many strongly correlated materials. One widely studied example is the discovered Ising-nematicity and its interplay with superconductivity in tetragonal iron pnictides. Since nematic directors in crystalline solids are restricted by the underlying crystal symmetry, recently identified quantum material systems with three-fold rotational (C$_3$) symmetry offer a new platform to investigate nematic order with three-state Potts character. Here, we report reversible strain control of the three-state Potts nematicity in a zigzag antiferromagnetic insulator, FePSe$_3$. Probing the nematicity via optical linear dichroism, we demonstrate either $2{\pi}/3$ or ${\pi}/2$ rotation of nematic director by uniaxial strain. The nature of the nematic phase transition can also be controlled such that it undergoes a smooth crossover transition, a Potts nematic transition, or a Ising nematic flop transition. Further elastocaloric measurements demonstrate signatures of two coupled phase transitions, indicating that the nematic phase is a vestigial order arose from the antiferromagnetism. The ability to tune the nematic order with in-situ strain further enables the extraction of nematic susceptibility, which exhibits a divergent behavior near the magnetic ordering temperature that is corroborated with both linear dichroism and elastocaloric measurements. This paper introduces a novel method for transmitting video data over noisy wireless channels with high efficiency and controllability. The method derivates from model division multiple access (MDMA) to extract common semantic features from video frames. It also uses deep joint source-channel coding (JSCC) as the main framework to establish communication links and deal with channel noise. An entropy-based variable length coding scheme is developed to adjust the data amount accurately and explicitly. We name our method as model division video semantic communication (MDVSC). The main steps of our approach are as follows: first, video frames are transformed into a latent space to reduce computational complexity and redistribute data. Then, common features and individual features are extracted, and variable length coding is applied to further eliminate redundant semantic information under the communication bandwidth constraint. We evaluate our method on standard video test sequences and compare it with traditional wireless video coding methods. The results show that MDVSC generally surpasses the conventional methods in terms of quality metrics and has the capability to control code length precisely. The integer quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) effect is a lattice analog of the quantum Hall effect at zero magnetic field. This striking transport phenomenon occurs in electronic systems with topologically nontrivial bands and spontaneous time-reversal symmetry breaking. Discovery of its putative fractional counterpart in the presence of strong electron correlations, i.e., the fractional quantum anomalous Hall (FQAH) effect, would open a new chapter in condensed matter physics. Here, we report the direct observation of both integer and fractional QAH effects in electrical measurements on twisted bilayer MoTe$_2$. At zero magnetic field, near filling factor $\nu = -1$ (one hole per moir\'e unit cell) we see an extended integer QAH plateau in the Hall resistance $R_\text{xy}$ that is quantized to $h/e^2 \pm 0.1 \%$ while the longitudinal resistance $R_\text{xx}$ vanishes. Remarkably, at $\nu=-2/3$ and $-3/5$ we see plateau features in $R_\text{xy}$ at $3h/2e^2 \pm 1\%$ and $5h/3e^2 \pm 3\%$, respectively, while $R_\text{xx}$ remains small. All these features shift linearly in an applied magnetic field with slopes matching the corresponding Chern numbers $-1$, $-2/3$, and $-3/5$, precisely as expected for integer and fractional QAH states. In addition, at zero magnetic field, $R_\text{xy}$ is approximately $2h/e^2$ near half filling ($\nu = -1/2$) and varies linearly as $\nu$ is tuned. This behavior resembles that of the composite Fermi liquid in the half-filled lowest Landau level of a two-dimensional electron gas at high magnetic field. Two-dimensional moir\'e materials have emerged as the most versatile platforms for realizing quantum phases of electrons. Here, we explore the stability origins of correlated states in WSe2/WS2 moir\'e superlattices. We find that ultrafast electronic excitation leads to melting of the Mott states on time scales five times longer than predictions from the charge hopping integrals and the melting rates are thermally activated, with activation energies of 18 and 13 meV for the one- and two-hole Mott states, respectively, suggesting significant electron-phonon coupling. DFT calculation of the one-hole Mott state confirms polaron formation and yields a hole-polaron binding energy of 16 meV. Physical-Layer Authentication (PLA) has been recently believed as an endogenous-secure and energy-efficient technique to recognize IoT terminals. However, the major challenge of applying the state-of-the-art PLA schemes directly to 6G-enabled IoT is the inaccurate channel fingerprint estimation in low Signal-Noise Ratio (SNR) environments, which will greatly influence the reliability and robustness of PLA. To tackle this issue, we propose a configurable-fingerprint-based PLA architecture through Intelligent Reflecting Surface (IRS) that helps create an alternative wireless transmission path to provide more accurate fingerprints. According to Baye's theorem, we propose a Gaussian Process Classification (GPC)-based PLA scheme, which utilizes the Expectation Propagation (EP) method to obtain the identities of unknown fingerprints. Considering that obtaining sufficient labeled fingerprint samples to train the GPC-based authentication model is challenging for future 6G systems, we further extend the GPC-based PLA to the Efficient-GPC (EGPC)-based PLA through active learning, which requires fewer labeled fingerprints and is more feasible. We also propose three fingerprint selecting algorithms to choose fingerprints, whose identities are queried to the upper-layers authentication mechanisms. For this reason, the proposed EGPC-based scheme is also a lightweight cross-layer authentication method to offer a superior security level. The simulations conducted on synthetic datasets demonstrate that the IRS-assisted scheme reduces the authentication error rate by 98.69% compared to the non-IRS-based scheme. Additionally, the proposed fingerprint selection algorithms reduce the authentication error rate by 65.96% to 86.93% and 45.45% to 70.00% under perfect and imperfect channel estimation conditions, respectively, when compared with baseline algorithms., Comment: 12 pages, 9 figures

Point cloud, as a 3D representation, is widely used in autonomous driving, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR). However, traditional communication systems think that the point cloud's semantic information is irrelevant to communication, which hinders the efficient transmission of point clouds in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). This paper proposes a point cloud based semantic communication system (PCSC), which uses AI-based encoding techniques to extract the semantic information of the point cloud and joint source-channel coding (JSCC) technology to overcome the distortion caused by noise channels and solve the "cliff effect" in traditional communication. In addition, the system realizes the controllable coding rate without fine-tuning the network. The method analyzes the coded semantic vector's importance and discards semantically-unimportant information, thereby improving the transmission efficiency. Besides, PCSC and the recently proposed non-orthogonal model division multiple access (MDMA) technology are combined to design a point cloud MDMA transmission system (M-PCSC) for multi-user transmission. Relevant experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the traditional method 10dB in the same channel bandwidth ratio under the PSNR D1 and PSNR D2 metrics. In terms of transmission, the proposed method can effectively solve the "cliff effect" in the traditional methods.

The ability to reversibly toggle between two distinct states in a non-volatile method is important for information storage applications. Such devices have been realized for phase-change materials, which utilizes local heating methods to toggle between a crystalline and an amorphous state with distinct electrical properties. To expand such kind of switching between two topologically distinct phases requires non-volatile switching between two crystalline phases with distinct symmetries. Here we report the observation of reversible and non-volatile switching between two stable and closely-related crystal structures with remarkably distinct electronic structures in the near room temperature van der Waals ferromagnet Fe$_{5-\delta}$GeTe$_2$. From a combination of characterization techniques we show that the switching is enabled by the ordering and disordering of an Fe site vacancy that results in distinct crystalline symmetries of the two phases that can be controlled by a thermal annealing and quenching method. Furthermore, from symmetry analysis as well as first principle calculations, we provide understanding of the key distinction in the observed electronic structures of the two phases: topological nodal lines compatible with the preserved global inversion symmetry in the site-disordered phase, and flat bands resulting from quantum destructive interference on a bipartite crystaline lattice formed by the presence of the site order as well as the lifting of the topological degeneracy due to the broken inversion symmetry in the site-ordered phase. Our work not only reveals a rich variety of quantum phases emergent in the metallic van der Waals ferromagnets due to the presence of site ordering, but also demonstrates the potential of these highly tunable two-dimensional magnets for memory and spintronics applications.

Magnetism in two-dimensional (2D) materials has attracted considerable attention recently for both fundamental understanding of magnetism and their tunability towards device applications. The isostructural Fe$_3$GeTe$_2$ and Fe$_3$GaTe$_2$ are two members of the Fe-based van der Waals (vdW) ferromagnet family, but exhibit very different Curie temperatures (T$_C$) of 210 K and 360 K, respectively. Here, by using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and density functional theory, we systematically compare the electronic structures of the two compounds. Qualitative similarities in the Fermi surface can be found between the two compounds, with expanded hole pockets in Fe$_3$GaTe$_2$ suggesting additional hole carriers compared to Fe$_3$GeTe$_2$. Interestingly, we observe no band shift in Fe$_3$GaTe$_2$ across its T$_C$ of 360 K, compared to a small shift in Fe$_3$GeTe$_2$ across its T$_C$ of 210 K. The weak temperature-dependent evolution strongly deviates from the expectations of an itinerant Stoner mechanism. Our results suggest that itinerant electrons have minimal contributions to the enhancement of T$_C$ in Fe$_3$GaTe$_2$ compared to Fe$_3$GeTe$_2$, and that the nature of ferromagnetism in these Fe-based vdW ferromagnets must be understood with considerations of the electron correlations.

Niobium chloride (Nb3Cl8) is a layered 2D semiconducting material with many exotic properties including a breathing kagome lattice, a topological flat band in its band structure, and a crystal structure that undergoes a structural and magnetic phase transition at temperatures below 90 K. Despite being a remarkable material with fascinating new physics, the understanding of its phonon properties is at its infancy. In this study, we investigate the phonon dynamics of Nb3Cl8 in bulk and few layer flakes using polarized Raman spectroscopy and density functional theory (DFT) analysis to determine the material's vibrational modes, as well as their symmetrical representations and atomic displacements. We experimentally resolved 12 phonon modes, 5 of which are A1g modes while the remaining 7 are Eg modes, which is in strong agreement with our DFT calculation. Layer-dependent results suggest that the Raman peak positions are mostly insensitive to changes in layer thickness, while peak intensity and FWHM are affected. Raman measurements as a function of excitation wavelength (473-785 nm) show a significant increase of the peak intensities when using a 473 nm excitation source, suggesting a near resonant condition. Temperature-dependent Raman experiments carried out above and below the transition temperature did not show any change in the symmetries of the phonon modes, suggesting that the structural phase transition is likely from the high temperature P3m1 phase to the low-temperature R3m phase. Magneto-Raman measurements carried out at 140 and 2 K between -2 to 2 T show that the Raman modes are not magnetically coupled. Weyl semimetals (WSMs) are three-dimensional topological materials that exhibit fascinating properties due to the presence of Weyl nodes in their band structure. However, existing WSMs discovered so far often possess multiple pairs of Weyl nodes, posing a challenge in disentangling the contributions to transport phenomena from different energy bands. To overcome this challenge, we have identified field-induced ferromagnetic MnBi$_{2-x}$Sb$_{x}$Te$_{4}$ as an ideal type-II WSM with a single pair of Weyl nodes. By employing a combination of quantum oscillations and high-field Hall measurements, we have resolved the evolution of Fermi-surface sections as the Fermi level is tuned across the charge neutrality point, precisely matching the band structure of an ideal type-II WSM. Furthermore, the anomalous Hall conductivity exhibits a heartbeat-like behavior as the Fermi level is tuned across the Weyl nodes, a unique feature previously predicted for a type-II WSM. Our findings establish MnBi$_{2-x}$Sb$_{x}$Te$_{4}$ as an ideal platform for further investigation into Weyl physics.

Remote zero-shot object recognition, i.e., offloading zero-shot object recognition task from one mobile device to remote mobile edge computing (MEC) server or another mobile device, has become a common and important task to solve for 6G. In order to tackle this problem, this paper first establishes a zero-shot multi-level feature extractor, which projects the image into visual, semantic, as well as intermediate feature space in a lightweight way. Then, this paper proposes a novel multi-level feature transmission framework powered by semantic knowledge base (SKB), and characterizes the semantic loss and required transmission latency at each level. Under this setup, this paper formulates the multi-level feature transmission optimization problem to minimize the semantic loss under the end-to-end latency constraint. The optimization problem, however, is a multi-choice knapsack problem, and thus very difficult to be optimized. To resolve this issue, this paper proposes an efficient algorithm based on convex concave procedure to find a high-quality solution. Numerical results show that the proposed design outperforms the benchmarks, and illustrate the tradeoff between the transmission latency and zero-shot classification accuracy, as well as the effects of the SKBs at both the transmitter and receiver on classification accuracy., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures
