The Oxford University Press has anounced the forthcoming publication of the following books. In "The Queens of Aragon: Their Lives and Times," E. L. Miron writes entertainingly, and with much information, of bygone days in Spain's eastern kingdom Aragon existed as a separate political entity from 1035 to 1468 A. D.

Thinkers and the misinformed finally abandon the idea that the fascists have won or will soon win the international war being fought at the expense of Spain. The spring Aragon offensive of the quadruple alliance-Francisco Franco, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and non-intervention, has failed. Its purpose was to end the war. It merely succeeded in investing a few unimportant fishing villages along the Mediterranean coast and galvanizing a harried people into heightened resistance. Many of the best brigades of the Madrid army of the center are now in Catalonia. Foreign military observers believe that these blood-baptized troops, seconded by newly trained reinforcements, will at least hold all the Catalan lines.
