The new Physical Education Addition Facility in California State University campus is a space-frame pyramid that has a lighter and more economical structure than the original design with conventional framing. It uses common materials and building procedures to encourage fabrication. The design loads were measured according to the Uniform Building Code, and wind-tunnel tests were conducted to measure the safety of the design. The roof of this fireproof building consists of an insulated metal deck.
