The development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has now reached some entirely unexpected domains. Many applications in modern cities lead to novelties, resulting in new habits of the citizens of tomorrow's smart cities. These innovations include Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). An important application domain of ITS is undoubtedly represented by the dynamic and optimized management of traffic-lighted road intersections. Although several works have already been presented in the literature over the years, many have not considered the new perspectives regarding the source of data to manage traffic lights, i.e., not only Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), but, mainly, the vehicular communications. This paper introduces an innovative approach to dynamically regulating traffic light cycles and phases in an isolated intersection. The suggested method can fit data management from WSNs and vehicular communications through IEEE 802.11p and LTE-V2V, employing various Fuzzy Logic Controllers (FLCs) that manage vehicles turning movements for dynamic controls of both the phase and the green time of traffic lights. The results obtained will allow us to observe that the proposed application is better than the others. People-centric sensing (PCS), which collects information closely related to human activity and interactions in societies, is stepping into a flourishing time. Along with its great benefits, PCS poses new security challenges such as data integrity and participant privacy. Hierarchical identity-based signature (HIBS) scheme can efficiently provide high-integrity messaging, secure communication, and privacy protection to PCS. However, key escrow problem and low computation efficiency primarily hinder the adoption of HIBS scheme. In this paper, we propose an escrow-free online/offline HIBS scheme for securing PCS. By utilizing user-selected-secret signing algorithm and splitting the signing phase into online and offline procedures, our scheme solves the key escrow problem and achieves high scheme performance. Attribute-based signature (ABS) is a new cryptographic primitive, in which a signer can sign a message with his attributes, and the verifier can only known whether the signer owns attributes satisfying his policy. Moreover, the signature cannot be forged by any user not having attributes satisfying the policy. ABS has many applications, such as anonymous authentication, and attribute-based messaging systems. But many applications may require a user obtaining attributes from different authorities, which calls for multi-authority ABS schemes. In this paper, we first propose a multi-authority ABS scheme, called TR_MABS, adopting an attribute tree to support expressive policy consisting of AND, OR, threshold gates. As TR_MABS brings in expensive cost on adding or removing attribute authorities, we present another multi-authority ABS scheme, named DNF_MABS, which uses a disjunctive normal form (DNF) to express a policy, bringing in the capability of implementing NOT gate. To prevent collusion attack, we adopt a unique global identity (GID) for a user to combine his attribute keys and identity. Moreover, we use a central authority to assure the usability of attribute keys a user getting from different attribute authorities, make the verification independent of user's identity, and allow attribute authorities' dynamic change. Our schemes fit the requirements of applications, and also distribute the trust to authorities in the system. Large parts of attacks targeting the web are aiming at the weak point of web application. Even though SQL injection, which is the form of XSS (Cross Site Scripting) attacks, is not a threat to the system to operate the web site, it is very critical to the places that deal with the important information because sensitive information can be obtained and falsified. In this paper, the method to detect themalicious SQL injection script code which is the typical XSS attack using n-Gram indexing and SVM (Support Vector Machine) is proposed. In order to test the proposed method, the test was conducted after classifying each data set as normal code and malicious code, and the malicious script code was detected by applying index term generated by n-Gram and data set generated by code dictionary to SVM classifier. As a result, when the malicious script code detection was conducted using n-Gram index term and SVM, the superior performance could be identified in detecting malicious script and the more improved results than existing methods could be seen in the malicious script code detection recall. The provision of efficient broadcast containment schemes that can dynamically cope with frequent topology changes and limited shared channel bandwidth, is one of the most challenging research topics in MANETs, and is crucial to the basic operations of networks serving fully mobile devices within areas having no fixed communication infrastructure. This problem particularly impacts the design of dynamic routing protocol that can efficiently establish routes to deliver data packets among mobile nodes with minimum communication overhead, and at the same time, ensure high throughput and low end-to-end delay. Accordingly, this work exploits and analyzes an adaptive probabilistic broadcast containment technique based on a particular condensation phenomenon borrowed from Quantum Mechanics and transposed in self-organizing random networks, that has the potential to effectively drive the on-demand route discovery process. Simulation-based performance analysis has shown that the proposed technique can introduce significant benefits on the general performance of broadcast-based reactive routing protocols in MANETs. In this paper a novel unequal packet loss protection scheme R2NC based on low-triangular global coding matrix with ladder-shaped partition is presented, which combines redundant and random network coding for robust H.264/SVC video transmission. Firstly, the error-correcting capabilities of redundant network coding make our scheme resilient to loss. Secondly, the implementation of random network coding at the intermediate nodes with multiple input links can reduce the cost of network bandwidth, thus reducing the end-to-end delay for video transmission. Thirdly, the low-triangular global coding matrix with ladder-shaped partition is maintained throughout the R2NC processes to reduce the impact of global coding matrix's rank deficiency on video transmission and provide unequal erasure protection for H.264/SVC priority layers. The redundant network coding avoids the retransmission of lost packets and improves error-correcting capabilities of lost packets. Based only on the knowledge of the packet loss rates on the output links, the source node and intermediate nodes can make decisions for redundant network coding and random network coding (i.e., how much redundancy to add at this node). However, the redundancy caused by redundant network coding makes the network load increases. In order to improve network throughput, we performed random network coding at the intermediate nodes. Our approach is grounded on the overall distortion of reconstructed video minimization by optimizing the amount of redundancy assigned to each layer. The convex optimization model is constructed under the constraint of network coding and scalable video coding. Experimental results are shown to demonstrate the significant improvement of H.264/SVC video reconstruction quality with R2NC over packet lossy networks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Context-awareness has become a key issue in Human-Computer Interaction(HCI) to provide better user experience under multi-device and multi-modal environment. With this intuition, we have proposed a web service based framework, which associates interactions with services, and provided service selection mechanism using context knowledge to achieve smart interaction migration [1]. A fundamental problem of such a service-oriented framework for interaction migration is to design an effective while scalable algorithm for service selection. In this paper, we propose a service selection algorithm considering not only context information and user preferences but also inter-service relations such as relative location. Our algorithm detects interaction hot spots within user active scope and presents the best service combination based on evaluation of interaction effectiveness. The Internet of Things (IoT) requires scalability, extensibility and a transparent integration of multi-technology in order to reach an efficient support for global communications, discovery and look-up, as well as access to services and information. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to enable a homogenous and seamless machine-to-machine (M2M) communication mechanism allowing global access to devices, sensors and smart objects. In this respect, the proposed answer to these technological requirements is called Glowbal IP, which is based on a homogeneous access to the devices/sensors offered by the IPv6 addressing and core network. Glowbal IP's main advantages with regard to 6LoWPAN/IPv6 are not only that it presents a low overhead to reach a higher performance on a regular basis, but also that it determines the session and identifies global access by means of a session layer defined over the application layer. Technologies without any native support for IP are thereby adaptable to IP e.g. IEEE 802.15.4 and Bluetooth Low Energy. This extension towards the IPv6 network opens access to the features and methods of the devices through a homogenous access based on WebServices (e.g. RESTFul/CoAP). In addition to this, Glowbal IP offers global interoperability among the different devices, and interoperability with external servers and users applications. All in all, it allows the storage of information related to the devices in the network through the extension of the Domain Name System (DNS) from the IPv6 core network, by adding the Service Directory extension (DNS-SD) to store information about the sensors, their properties and functionality. A step forward in network-based information systems is thereby reached, allowing a homogenous discovery, and access to the devices from the IoT. Thus, the IoT capabilities are exploited by allowing an easier and more transparent integration of the end users applications with sensors for the future evaluations and use cases. With the rapid booming of intelligent traffic system, vehicular ad hoc networks have attracted wide attention from both academic and industry. However, security is the main obstacle for the wide deployment of vehicular ad hoc networks. Vehicular ad hoc networks security has two critical issues: access authentication and privacy preservation. How to ensure privacy preservation and improve the efficiency of authentication has become the urgent needs. However, the existing access authentication schemes for vehicular ad hoc networks with different flaws cannot maintain the balance between security and efficiency. Thus, an anonymous access authentication scheme for vehicular ad hoc networks under edge computing based on ID-based short group signature mechanism is proposed in this article to improve the efficiency and anonymity of access authentication. Multiple pseudonyms are presented to preserve the privacy of vehicle node. Besides, a new method is designed to identify and revoke malicious vehicles in the evaluation manner. The core protocols of the proposed scheme are proved to be secure by SVO logic. According to the computation cost and transmission overhead analysis, we indicate that our scheme owns better performance.
