The author reflects on the impact of the leadership of King Sejong as a ruler of a royal dynasty of the 15th century in Korea. According to the author, society led by King Sejong during his period is very different from this modern period when the interests of so many various groups are interlocked. The author added that it would be dangerous to argue that all people need to do is admire King Sejong and take him as a model for everything.

The author reflects on the performance showed by the Korea's B-Boys also known as break dancers that performed the dance comedy "Break Out" at West End in London, England. He said that the extraordinary performance of the dancers during the show captured the heart of London audiences. He added that most of the people believed that the crowd appreciated the originality and freshness of the combination of break dance and comedy.

We discuss the -kink method to determine the masses of both the dark matter WIMP and its mother particle produced at the LHC. We then introduce a new kinematic variable, the -Assisted-On-Shell (MAOS) momentum, that provides a systematic approximation to the invisible particle momenta in hadron collider events producing a pair of invisible particles, and apply it to certain SUSY processes and their UED equivalents to determine the spin of gluino/KK-gluon and of slepton/KK-lepton. Glycyrrhiza uralensis (Leguminosae) has long been used to treat inflammatory ailments, such as gastric ulcers, arthritis, and rheumatism. From this traditional herbal plant, glycyrol, a coumestan with anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory activities, was first isolated and synthesized to test its apoptosis-inducing properties in human Jurkat cells. Flow cytometry analysis indicated that glycyrol can arrest the cell cycle in S phase and subsequently induce apoptosis in both time- and dose-dependent manners. Consequently, it was shown that caspase-8 and -9 were involved in the activation of apoptosis after glycyrol treatment. Despite its known NF-κB inhibitory activity, glycyrol did not influence the prosurvival Bcl-2 and the proapoptotic Bax. Interestingly, glycyrol was revealed to enhance the Fas level independently from p53, which even slightly decreased. Thus, glycyrol acts in a similar manner as known cytostatic drugs and may have a potential as lead for the development of drugs for cancer treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
