The article discusses the cyst production of brine shrimp Artemia fransiscana. It is summarized that for the cyst production of Artemia fransiscana, water salinity of 95 ppt and above, water depth of 40 centimeter, water pH above 7.5 and water temperature between 27 to 33°C are desirable. The water temperature of 35°C and above lead to heavy mortality of nauplii and adults, hence unsuitable for Artemia culture or cyst production. Thus the production of Artemia cysts in salt ponds should be planned keeping above favorable parameters available in the particular agro-climatic zone. In India and other Asian countries, favorable climatic conditions before and after rainy season exist for large scale culture of Artemia cysts.
