Abstract

The liquid air energy storage (LAES) technology has received widespread attention for its advantages of high energy storage density, a wide range of applications, safety, environmental protection and hygiene, flexible device regulation, and large energy storage scale and is developing toward high-parameter and large-capacity energy storage. However, due to the late start of research in China, large-scale LAES has not been put into commercial operation so far, and the lack of in-depth understanding of the dynamic characteristics of LAES has seriously impeded the development of the system design and regulation technology, which limits the development and popularization of LAES. In this study, a dynamic mathematical model of the liquid air energy storage system is established based on the SIMULINK platform of MATLAB software. The dynamic characteristics of the system in the energy release stage are analyzed, a control model of the grid-connected speed control system is established, and an optimized control strategy is obtained by using a linear active disturbance rejection controller and by analyzing the response under typical disturbances. The model and the results of this study provide a reference for the understanding of the dynamic characteristics of LAES and the control of the speed control system, and the control strategy can effectively reduce the problem of high overshooting of the rotor of the expander and reach a stable state in a shorter time, which is of practical significance for promoting the application and popularization of LAES. Abstract

Here, for controlling a high-speed flywheel permanent magnet synchronous motor (HSPMSM), a position sensorless control method for estimation of motor rotor position and speed is proposed to address the problems faced by mechanical position sensors of high cost, large size, and poor interference immunity. The extended Kalman filter (EKF) has difficulty obtaining the optimal covariance matrix when performing state estimation. Therefore, the particle swarm algorithm (PSO) with an immune mechanism is used to optimize the covariance matrix of the EKF. However, the EKF algorithm makes the system less robust due to its delay effect. Based on the traditional sliding mode control rate, the exponential convergence law is improved, and the continuous function sat(s) is used instead of the symbolic function sgn(s). This improves the convergence law and proves the asymptotic stability of the designed sliding mode variable structure controller based on Lyapunov's stability theorem. Then, the novel control law is applied to the sliding mode surface (SMS). An ordinary sliding mode controller (OSMC) using a linear sliding mode controller (LSMC), a global sliding mode controller (GSMC) using a global sliding mode surface (GSMS), and an integral sliding mode controller (ISMC) using an integral sliding mode surface (ISMS) are designed for improving control. Joint simulation in MATLAB and Simulink verifies that the optimized EKF based on the immune PSO can improve precision and accuracy for controlling the electronic rotor position and speed. Comparing the new sliding mode controller with a traditional PI controller reveals that the proposed system has stronger resistance to load disturbance and better robustness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

24. Source–Storage–Load Coordinated Master–Slave Control Strategy for Islanded Microgrid Considering Load Disturbance and Communication Interruption

Abstract

When there is a sudden load disturbance in an islanded microgrid, the peer-to-peer control model requires the energy resource to maintain a margin of generation, resulting in a relatively limited regulation range, that is, voltage/frequency sometimes requires additional control to maintain stability. A “source–storage–load” coordinated master–slave control strategy is proposed in this study to address the aforementioned issues. The system voltage and frequency will be stable as long as the output frequency and voltage of the master resource are stable. Furthermore, it can fully utilize the power supply capacity of resources to support the supply–demand balance. The following tasks are included in the proposed strategy: 1) to improve the operational security in the face of load disruption, a source–storage–load coordinated control method based on the “ramping speed” ratio is proposed, which can quickly restore the balance of supply and demand; 2) to improve the communication reliability in the face of interruption, a channel planning method is proposed, which can address the communication interruption problem by constructing an internal network among source–storage–load; and 3) to improve the mode switching stability of resources subjected to external disturbance, the external disturbance suppression and stability analysis involved in the regulation process are completed using sliding-mode control and small signal model methods. Related case studies are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategies.

39. Game and Dynamic Communication Path-Based Pricing Strategies for Microgrids Under Communication Interruption

Abstract

Nowadays, the microgrid cluster is an important application scenario for energy trading. In trading, one of the most important research directions is the issue of pricing. To determine reasonable pricing for the microgrid cluster, data communication is used to create the cyber-physical system (CPS), which can improve the observability of microgrids. Then, the following works are carried out in the CPS. In the physical layer: 1) Regarding trading between microgrids and the load, based on the generalized game theory, an optimal pricing strategy is proposed, which takes into account the interactive relationships among microgrids and transforms the pricing problem into a Nikaido-Isoda function to obtain the optimal prices conveniently; 2) Regarding peer-to-peer trading between two microgrids, based on evolutionary game theory and the penalty mechanism, the optimal sale price of the seller is selected with boundary rationality. In the cyber layer, regarding the communication interruption issue existing in pricing (i.e., the game process), based on the principle of matching the performance of the path with the importance degree of the data, a dynamic regulating method of paths is proposed, i.e., adopting a new path to re-transmit the interrupted data to the destination. Finally, the effect of the proposed strategies is verified by case studies.
