Multiview point cloud registration serves as a cornerstone of various computer vision tasks. Previous approaches typically adhere to a global paradigm, where a pose graph is initially constructed followed by motion synchronization to determine the absolute pose. However, this separated approach may not fully leverage the characteristics of multiview registration and might struggle with low-overlap scenarios. In this paper, we propose an incremental multiview point cloud registration method that progressively registers all scans to a growing meta-shape. To determine the incremental ordering, we employ a two-stage coarse-to-fine strategy for point cloud candidate retrieval. The first stage involves the coarse selection of scans based on neighbor fusion-enhanced global aggregation features, while the second stage further reranks candidates through geometric-based matching. Additionally, we apply a transformation averaging technique to mitigate accumulated errors during the registration process. Finally, we utilize a Reservoir sampling-based technique to address density variance issues while reducing computational load. Comprehensive experimental results across various benchmarks validate the effectiveness and generalization of our approach.

Emergent collective modes in lattices give birth to many intriguing physical phenomena in condensed matter physics. Among these collective modes, large-area modes typically feature small-level spacings, while a mode with stable frequency tends to be spatially tightly confined. Here, we theoretically propose and experimentally demonstrate a spectral-isolated photonic topological corner mode with a tunable mode area and stable frequency in a two-dimensional photonic crystal. This mode emerges from hybridizing the large-area homogeneous mode and in-gap topological corner modes. Remarkably, this large-area homogeneous mode possesses unique chirality and has a tunable mode area under the change of the mass term of the inner topological non-trivial lattice. We experimentally observe such topological large-area corner modes(TLCM) in a 2D photonic system and demonstrate the robustness by introducing disorders in the structure. Our findings have propelled the forefront of higher-order topology research, transitioning it from single-lattice systems to multi-lattice systems. As a fundamental problem in computer vision, point cloud registration aims to seek the optimal transformation for aligning a pair of point clouds. In most existing methods, the information flows are usually forward transferring, thus lacking the guidance from high-level information to low-level information. Besides, excessive high-level information may be overly redundant, and directly using it may conflict with the original low-level information. In this paper, we propose a novel Iterative Feedback Network (IFNet) for unsupervised point cloud registration, in which the representation of low-level features is efficiently enriched by rerouting subsequent high-level features. Specifically, our IFNet is built upon a series of Feedback Registration Block (FRB) modules, with each module responsible for generating the feedforward rigid transformation and feedback high-level features. These FRB modules are cascaded and recurrently unfolded over time. Further, the Feedback Transformer is designed to efficiently select relevant information from feedback high-level features, which is utilized to refine the low-level features. What's more, we incorporate a geometry-awareness descriptor to empower the network for making full use of most geometric information, which leads to more precise registration results. The majority of point cloud registration methods currently rely on extracting features from points. However, these methods are limited by their dependence on information obtained from a single modality of points, which can result in deficiencies such as inadequate perception of global features and a lack of texture information. Actually, humans can employ visual information learned from 2D images to comprehend the 3D world. Based on this fact, we present a novel Cross-Modal Information-Guided Network (CMIGNet), which obtains global shape perception through cross-modal information to achieve precise and robust point cloud registration. Specifically, we first incorporate the projected images from the point clouds and fuse the cross-modal features using the attention mechanism. Furthermore, we employ two contrastive learning strategies, namely overlapping contrastive learning and cross-modal contrastive learning. The former focuses on features in overlapping regions, while the latter emphasizes the correspondences between 2D and 3D features. Finally, we propose a mask prediction module to identify keypoints in the point clouds. Point cloud registration plays a crucial role in various computer vision tasks, and usually demands the resolution of partial overlap registration in practice. Most existing methods perform a serial calculation of rotation and translation, while jointly predicting overlap during registration, this coupling tends to degenerate the registration performance. In this paper, we propose an effective registration method with dual branches decoupling for partial-to-partial registration, dubbed as DBDNet. Specifically, we introduce a dual branches structure to eliminate mutual interference error between rotation and translation by separately creating two individual correspondence matrices. For partial-to-partial registration, we consider overlap prediction as a preordering task before the registration procedure. Accordingly, we present an overlap predictor that benefits from explicit feature interaction, which is achieved by the powerful attention mechanism to accurately predict pointwise masks. Furthermore, we design a multi-resolution feature extraction network to capture both local and global patterns thus enhancing both overlap prediction and registration module. In this paper, existence of solutions is established for critical exponential Kirchhoff systems on the Heisenberg group by using the variational method. The novelty of our paper is that not only the nonlinear term has critical exponential growth, but also that Kirchhoff function covers the degenerate case. Moreover, our result is new even for the Euclidean case.

Recent research on human pose estimation exploits complex structures to improve performance on benchmark datasets, ignoring the resource overhead and inference speed when the model is actually deployed. In this paper, we lighten the computation cost and parameters of the deconvolution head network in SimpleBaseline and introduce an attention mechanism that utilizes original, inter-level, and intra-level information to intensify the accuracy. Additionally, we propose a novel loss function called heatmap weighting loss, which generates weights for each pixel on the heatmap that makes the model more focused on keypoints. Experiments demonstrate our method achieves a balance between performance, resource volume, and inference speed. Specifically, our method can achieve 65.3 AP score on COCO test-dev, while the inference speed is 55 FPS and 18 FPS on the mobile GPU and CPU, respectively., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures

The in-plane magnetoconductance of the strongly interacting two-dimensional electron system in a silicon MOSFET (metal-oxide-semiconductor-field-effect transistor) exhibits an unmistakeable kink at a well-defined electron density, $n_k$. The kink at $n_k$ is near, but not at the critical density $n_c$ determined from resistivity measurements, and the density at which $n_k$ occurs varies with temperature. These features are inconsistent with expectations for a quantum phase transition. We suggest instead that this is a percolation transition and present a detailed model based on the formation of a mixed insulating and metallic phase within which a metal-insulator transition takes place by percolation., Comment: 8 pages, 7 figures

The resistivities of the dilute, strongly-interacting 2D electron systems in the insulating phase of a silicon MOSFET are the same for unpolarized electrons in the absence of magnetic field and for electrons that are fully spin polarized by the presence of an in-plane magnetic field. In both cases the resistivity obeys Efros-Shklovskii variable range hopping $\rho(T) = \rho_0 \mbox{exp}[(T_{ES}/T)^{1/2}]$, with $T_{ES}$ and $1/\rho_0$ mapping onto each other if one applies a shift of the critical density $n_c$ reported earlier. With and withoug magnetic field, the parameters $T_{ES}$ and $1/\rho_0 = \sigma_0$ exhibit scaling consistent with critical behavior approaching a metal-insulator transition., Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures

We report measurements of the susceptibility in the temperature range from $3.5$ K to $6.0$ K of a series of Mn$_{12}$-ac and Mn$_{12}$-ac-MeOH samples in the shape of rectangular prisms of length $l_c$ and square cross-section of side $l_a$. The susceptibility obeys a Curie-Weiss Law, $\chi=C/(T-\theta)$, where $\theta$ varies systematically with sample aspect ratio. Using published demagnetization factors, we obtain $\theta$ for an infinitely long sample corresponding to intrinsic ordering temperatures $T_c \approx 0.85$ K and $\approx 0.74$ K for Mn$_{12}$-ac and Mn$_{12}$-ac-MeOH, respectively. The difference in $T_c$ for two materials that have nearly identical unit cell volumes and lattice constant ratios suggests that, in addition to dipolar interactions, there is a non-dipolar (exchange) contribution to the Weiss temperature that differs in the two materials because of the difference in ligand molecules., Comment: 4.5 pages
