We report on investigations of the complex magnetostructural and spin-state transitions in the breathing pyrochlore LiFeCr$_{4}$O$_{8}$ by means of magnetization, M\"ossbauer spectroscopy, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Three transitions corresponding to the ferrimagnetic transition at $T_N\sim94$ K, the spin-gap transition at $T_{SG}\sim50$ K, and the magnetostructural transition at $T_{MS}\sim19$ K were observed from the $\chi$(T) curve, whereas only $T_N$ and $T_{MS}$ were evidenced for the Fe site from our M\"ossbauer measurements, suggesting that the spin-gap transition is absent at the Fe site. This indicates that the spin-gap transition is an effect of the breathing Cr$_4$ lattice, in agreement with our DFT calculations from which we see nearly decoupled electronic states for the FeO$_4$ and CrO$_6$ units. From the temperature dependence of the hyperfine magnetic field we also observed a spin-state transition for the Fe spins at $T_{MS}$ consistent with earlier neutron diffraction measurements. In this work, we present detailed $^{57}$Fe M\"ossbauer spectroscopy investigations of (Co$_{0.97}$$^{57}$Fe$_{0.03}$)$_{4}$Nb$_{2}$O$_{9}$ compound to study its possible magnetic structures. We have shown that the previously reported magnetic structures can not satisfactorily describe our low temperature M\"ossbauer spectra. Therefore, in combination with theoretical calculations, we have proposed a modulated helicoidal magnetic structure that can be used to simulate the whole series of our low temperature M\"ossbauer spectra. Our results suggest that the combination of previously reported different magnetic structures are only approximations of the average magnetic structure from our modulated helicoidal model. In the current work, we report the investigation of RbLn$_2$Fe$_4$As$_4$O$_2$ (Ln = Tb, Dy and Ho) and RbFe$_2$As$_2$ by $^{57}$Fe M\"ossbauer spectroscopy. Singlet pattern has been observed for all the samples indicating the absence of static magnetic ordering down to 5.9\,K on the Fe sublattice. The observed intermediate value of the isomer shift confirms the effective self charge transfer effect for the studied superconductors. Debye temperatures of these samples have been determined by the temperature dependence of the isomer shift. Most importantly, we observe different spectral line width broadening behaviors for samples with different rare earth elements, and no line width broadenings for samples Ln=Tb and Ho. These results suggest that the observed magnetic fluctuations at the Fe site might be sensitive to the magnetic behaviors of the rare earth magnetic moments., Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, J Supercond Nov Magn (2018)

$^{57}$Fe M\"ossbauer spectra were measured at different temperatures between 5.9 K and 300 K on the recently discovered self-doped superconducting RbGd$_2$Fe$_4$As$_4$O$_2$ with T$_c$ as high as 35 K. Singlet pattern was observed down to the lowest temperature measured in this work, indicating the absence of static magnetic order on the Fe site. The intermediate isomer shift in comparison with that of the samples RbFe$_2$As$_2$ and GdFeAsO confirms the self doping induced local electronic structure change. Surprisingly, we observe two magnetic fluctuation induced spectral broadenings below $\sim$15 K and $\sim$100 K which are believed to be originated from the transferred magnetic fluctuations of the Gd$^{3+}$ moments and that of the magnetic fluctuations of the Fe atoms, respectively., Comment: 6 pages, 6 figures, 1 table

With the advent of Fe-As based superconductivity it has become important to study how superconductivity manifests itself in details of 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy of conventional, Fe - bearing superconductors. To this end, the iron-based superconductor Lu2Fe3Si5 has been studied by 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy over the temperature range from 4.4 K to room temperature with particular attention to the region close to the superconducting transition temperature (Tc = 6.1 K). Consistent with the two crystallographic sites for Fe in this structure, the observed spectra appear to have a pattern consisting of two doublets over the whole temperature range. The value of Debye temperature was estimated from temperature dependence of the isomer shift and the total spectral area and compared with the specific heat capacity data. In the present paper, we report a comparison study of SrFe$_2$As$_2$ and SrFeAsF using M\"ossbauer spectroscopy. The temperature dependence of the magnetic hyperfine field is fitted with a modified Bean-Rodbell model. The results give much smaller magnetic moment and magneto-structural coupling effect for SrFeAsF, which may be understood as due to different inter-layer properties of the two compounds., Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures,conference ICAME2011, to be appear in Hyperfine Interactions

The relationship between spin, electron, and crystal structure has been one of the foremost issues in understanding the superconducting mechanism since the discovery of iron-based high temperature superconductors. Here, we report M\"ossbauer and first-principles calculations studies of the parent compound SrFeAsF with the largest temperature gap ($\sim$50\,K) between the structural and antiferromagnetic (AFM) transitions. Our results reveal that the structural transition has little effect on the electronic structure of the compound SrFeAsF while the development of the AFM order induces a redistribution of the charges near the Fermi level., Comment: 6 Pages, 7 Figures

M\"ossbauer spectroscopy was used to probe the site specific information of the $K_{0.84}Fe_{1.99}Se_2$ superconductor. Possibility of coexistence of superconductivity and magnetism is discussed. A spin excitation gap, $\Delta E \approx$5\,meV, is observed by analyzing the temperature dependence of the hyperfine magnetic field (HMF) at the iron site within the spin wave theory. Using a simple model suggested in the literature, the temperature dependence of the HMF is well reproduced, suggesting that, below room temperature, the iron-selenide superconductors can be regarded as ferromagnetically coupled spin blocks that interact with each other antiferromagnetically to form the observed checkerboard-like magnetic structure.

In this paper we present detailed M\"ossbauer spectroscopy study of structural and magnetic properties of the undoped parent compound CaFe$_2$As$_2$ single crystal. By fitting the temperature dependence of the hyperfine magnetic field we show that the magneto-structural phase transition is clearly first-order in nature and we also deduced the compressibility of our sample to be $1.67\times10^{-2}\,GPa^{-1}$. Within the Landau's theory of phase transition, we further argue that the observed phase transition may stem from the strong magneto-structural coupling effect. Temperature dependence of the Lamb-M\"ossbauer factor show that the paramagnetic phase and the antiferromagnetic phase exhibit similar lattice dynamics in high frequency modes with very close Debye temperatures, $\Theta_D \sim$270\,K., Comment: 6 pages,5 figures Accepted by J.
