De Haas-van Alphen oscillations of the organic metal \k{appa}-(ET) 2 Cu(SCN) 2 have been measured up to 55 T at liquid helium temperatures. The Fermi surface of this charge transfer salt is a textbook example of linear chain of orbits coupled by magnetic breakdown. Accordingly, the oscillation spectrum is composed of linear combinations of the frequencies linked to the $\alpha$ and magnetic breakdown-induced $\beta$ orbits. The field and temperature dependence of all the observed Fourier components, in particular the "forbidden frequency" $\beta$ -- $\alpha$ which cannot correspond to a classical orbit, are quantitatively accounted for by analytical calculations based on a second order development of the free energy, i.e. beyond the first order Lifshitz-Kosevich formula., Comment: Accepted in Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter (2016)

The radical anion salt [Fe{HC(pz)3}2](TCNQ)3 demonstrating conductivity and spin-crossover transition (SCO) associated with Fe(II) complex cation subsystem has been synthesized and structurally characterized. A pronounced change of the dc resistivity and a robust broadening of the EPR signal triggered by the SCO transition are found. Enhanced EPR line broadening is interpreted in terms of cross relaxation between the TCNQ and Fe(II) spin subsystems

A new high symmetry Mn12 oxocarboxylate cluster [Mn12O12(CN-o-C6H4CO2)12(CH3CO2)4(H2O)4]*8CH2Cl2 (1) with mixed carboxylate ligands is reported. It was synthesized by the standard carboxylate substitution method. 1 crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I41/a. Complex 1 contains a [Mn12O12] core with eight CN-o-C6H4CO2 ligands in the axial positions, four CH3CO2 and four CN-o-C6H4CO2 those in equatorial positions. Four H2O molecules are bonded to four Mn atoms in an alternating up, down, up, down arrangement indicating 1:1:1:1 isomer. The Mn12 molecules in 1 are self-assembled by complementary hydrogen C-H...N bonds formed with participation of the axial o-cyanobenzoate ligands of the adjacent Mn12 clusters. The lattice solvent molecules (CH2Cl2) are weakly interacted with Mn12 units that results in solvent loss immediately after removal of the crystals from the mother liquor. The electronic structure and the intramolecular exchange parameters have been calculated. Mn 3d bands of 1 are rather broad and center of gravity of the bands shifts down from Fermi level. The overlap between Mn 3d bands and 2p ones of the oxygen atoms from carboxylate bridges is higher than in the parent Mn12-acetate cluster. These changes in electronic structure provide significant difference in the exchange interactions in comparison to Mn12-acetate. Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH) and de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) oscillations spectra of the quasi-two dimensional charge transfer salt $\beta$"-(ET)$_4$(H$_3$O)[Fe(C$_2$O$_4$)$_3$]$\cdot$C$_6$H$_4$Cl$_2$ have been investigated in pulsed magnetic fields up to 54 T. The data reveal three basic frequencies F$_a$, F$_b$ and F$_{b - a}$, which can be interpreted on the basis of three compensated closed orbits at low temperature. However a very weak thermal damping of the Fourier component F$_b$, with the highest amplitude, is evidenced for SdH spectra above about 6 K. As a result, magnetoresistance oscillations are observed at temperatures higher than 30 K. This feature, which is not observed for dHvA oscillations, is in line with quantum interference, pointing to a Fermi surface reconstruction in this compound., Comment: published in Eur. Phys. J. The Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH) oscillation spectra of the beta''-(BEDT-TTF)4(NH4)[Cr(C2O4)\_3].DMF organic metal have been studied in pulsed magnetic fields of up to either 36 T at ambient pressure or 50 T under hydrostatic pressures of up to 1 GPa. The ambient pressure SdH oscillation spectra can be accounted for by up to six fundamental frequencies which points to a rather complex Fermi surface (FS). A noticeable pressure-induced modification of the FS topology is evidenced since the number of frequencies observed in the spectra progressively decreases as the pressure increases. Above 0.8 GPa, only three compensated orbits are observed, as it is the case for several other isostructural salts of the same family at ambient pressure. Contrary to other organic metals, of which the FS can be regarded as a network of orbits, no frequency combinations are observed for the studied salt, likely due to high magnetic breakdown gap values or (and) high disorder level evidenced by Dingle temperatures as large as about 7 K., Comment: To be published in European Physical Journal B
