The Curriculum, K–12 Education term “curriculum” has been variously defined as a coherent program of study in a specific subject area consisting of a set of courses and learning experiences provided by an educational institution. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, the school curriculum (grades K–12) of the United States has undergone numerous changes, particularly in mathematics. Indeed, the U.S. school curriculum has been more profoundly influenced by the demands of society than any other country in the world.
