The Lévy-driven affine short rate models follow and a chapter on the completeness of the presented Lévy term structure models concludes. In conclusion, the book by M. Barski and J. Zabczyk on modelling fixed income markets based on Lévy processes is a textbook that fills perfectly a gap in the existing mathematical finance literature. The applications of Lévy processes in mathematical finance go back to the seminal paper of Merton ([4]), entitled "Option pricing when underlying stock returns are discontinuous", which galvanized the research landscape on Lévy models with respect to financial applications. For example, induction, or more precisely the axiom of induction, is, for sure, a mathematical idea, but, for Borovik and Gardiner it belongs to the essence of mathematics because it is a way of thinking, which can be grasped, as they say, even in an elementary setting. Students must come to appreciate that mathematics is not only useful in understanding these things, but, in the case of the human world, mathematical models are often the actual basis of things in their experience. Besides the overall importance of applying mathematics in the world as reflected in the importance of STEM, these challenges constitute core motivations for Niss and Blum's book. In chapter 4, Niss and Blum look at various lists that have been made over the years leading to the explicit competencies related to modeling in the Danish KOM project which Niss directed.
