Abstract
However, before getting there McDermott addresses the inadequacies of mainstream economics, in what is by far the most effective and telling contribution of the book. This is especially devastating because it exposes what McDermott calls the "mis-mathematics" of mainstream economics as deriving from a failure to apply the insights of George Cantor's set theory. McDermott's fundamental and abiding dual focus on the employee-employer relationship and the pseudo-science of mainstream economics requires both clearer articulation and a more thorough bibliography for the linkage to be successful.
