Background: COVID-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2 has become the most threatening issue to all populations around the world. It is, directly and indirectly, affecting all of us and thus, is an emerging topic dealt in global health. To avoid the infection, various studies have been done and are still ongoing. COVID-19 cases are reported all over the globe, and among the millions of cases, genetic similarity may be seen. The genetical common features seen within confirmed cases may help outline the tendency of infection and degree severity of the disease. Here, we reviewed multiple papers on SNPs related to SARS-CoV-2 infection and analyzed their results. Methods: The PubMed databases were searched for papers discussing SNPs associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection and severity. Clinical studies with human patients and statistically showing the relevance of the SNP with virus infection were included. Quality Assessment of all papers was done with Newcastle Ottawa Scale. Results: In the analysis, 21 full-text literature out of 2956 screened titles and abstracts, including 63,496 cases, were included. All were human-based clinical studies, some based on certain regions gathered patient data and some based on big databases obtained online. ACE2, TMPRSS2, and IFITM3 are the genes mentioned most frequently that are related to SARS-CoV-2 infection. 20 out of 21 studies mentioned one or more of those genes. The relevant genes according to SNPs were also analyzed. rs12252-C, rs143936283, rs2285666, rs41303171, and rs35803318 are the SNPs that were mentioned at least twice in two different studies. Conclusions: We found that ACE2, TMPRSS2, and IFITM3 are the major genes that are involved in SARS-CoV-2 infection. The mentioned SNPs were all related to one or more of the above-mentioned genes. There were discussions on certain SNPs that increased the infection and severity to certain groups more than the others. Oxidative stress has been reported as one of the adverse effects caused due to pesticides, which is the main mechanism of the toxicity in humans and animals and is a useful parameter in monitoring studies. It involves an imbalance in the equilibrium state of ROS and antioxidant defenses leading to alterations in various antioxidant enzyme levels and lipid peroxidation. The objective of the current paper is to present a review of the potential role and protective mechanism action of the antioxidant micronutrient supplementation to ameliorate the oxidative stress induced by pesticides. Studies in animal models and human were retrieved through the relevant search of the literature and categorized. Various animal studies were categorized according to the type of supplementation. Animal studies provide evidence to conclude the potential protective role of antioxidants in ameliorating the adverse effects of pesticides. Epithelioid sarcoma is a rare mesenchymal neoplasm. Recently, a more aggressive, so-called ‘proximal type’ epithelioid sarcoma has been described. A 40-year-old-woman presented with 5 × 4 cm, erythematous, indurated, non-movable, painful mass on the pubic area. Histopathology demonstrated diffuse tumor-cell infiltration into the subcutaneous and fascia, which was consisted of prominent epithelioid cells and scattered rhabdoid cells. A multinodular growth pattern or granulomatous appearance with central necrosis was not observed. The tumor cells showed positive reactions for vimentin, cytokeratin (AE1/AE3), and CD34. Despite the surgery, left inguinal mass with lymphadenopathy occurred one month later. We also carried out comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) with tumor cells. CGH revealed chromosomal gain of 5q32-qter, 12q24-qter, and 22q. We report a case of proximal-type of epithelioid sarcoma, which showed the chromosomal gains of 5q32-qter, 12q24-qter, and 22q by CGH. Since the 20th century, plastics that are widely being used in general life and industries are causing enormous plastic waste problems since improperly discarded plastics barely degrade and decompose. Thus, the demand for polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), biodegradable polymers with material properties similar to conventional petroleum-based plastics, has been increased so far. The microbial production of PHAs is an environment-friendly solution for the current plastic crisis, however, the carbon sources for the microbial PHA production is a crucial factor to be considered in terms of carbon-neutrality. One‑carbon (C1) resources, such as methane, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide, are greenhouse gases and are abundantly found in nature and industry. C1 resources as the carbon sources for PHA production have a completely closed carbon loop with much advances; i) fast carbon circulation with direct bioconversion process and ii) simple fermentation procedure without sterilization as non-preferable nutrients. This review discusses the biosynthesis of PHAs based on C1 resource utilization by wild-type and metabolically engineered microbial host strains via biorefinery processes. • Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are promising alternatives of non-degradable plastics. • Utilization of C1 resources is environment-friendly as well as financially beneficial. • C1 resources can be used as feedstocks for microbial PHAs production in carbon-neutral manner. • Bioprocess have extensively been developed for enhanced production of PHAs from C1 resources • Microorganisms able to utilize C1 resources have been metabolically engineered to efficiently produce PHAs from C1 resources [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
