Insights for Teacher Educators Teacher educators drive changes in education. To support participating teachers' cognitive presence, the instructors modeled whole-class mathematics instruction in their synchronous online class meeting during which hands-on and integrated learning activities were used. The lessons they learned (e.g., breaking up a session into different activities to hold teachers' attention) can inform future practice in online teacher education and professional development.
