The global electronic waste (e-waste) output is increasing at an alarming pace, albeit with limited management practices, resulting in the release of toxic anthropogenic elements that threaten the environment and public health. The linear economic model, which follows the take-make-consume-dispose has shaped the global economy. In contrast, the circular economy reduces wastage, recirculates raw materials, and extends the lifespan of products through repairing, refurbishing and remanufacturing. This reduces supply chain risks and product supply disruptions and creates formal jobs. This systematic literature review evaluates how the knowledge economy and modernisation growth have contributed to the e-waste burden, and how the circular economy can mitigate environmental and health effects. The study evaluates the impact of the circular economy and the e-waste problem. It identifies the research landscape, the key research clusters, relevant topics, and research hotspots from research output from the 949 publications selected from the Scopus database published from 2014 to 2023. The analysis involved quantitative descriptions of several metrics related to the research outputs. The analysis also involved creating network and density graphs using VoSViewer and generating the ten key topics and a word cloud using Provalis WordStat. The study also highlights the conceptual developments and current and future research trends. The findings show that research outputs increased substantially from two in 2014 to 257 in 2023 and citations grew astronomically, from one in 2014 to 8409 in 2023. The analysis reveals five research clusters: material management and resource recovery, business practices and circular economy strategies, technology integration and sustainability, recycling challenges, and environmental health and sustainable practices. The study recommends that emerging economies should embrace the circular economy and integrate the informal sector for e-waste collection, sorting, and less complex recycling, while the formal sector conducts high-end recycling. This study assesses how advanced technologies like AI, blockchain, and big data facilitate green risk management in the automotive and electronics industries in the EU. Thus, some problems like high costs, limited time, and problems with the alignment of stakeholder goals remain. It is recommended that these gaps be overcome by innovating, partnering with industries, and implementing policies that can further improve the position of information systems as the foundation of GSSCM. Thus, policymakers have been urged to explore options like grants or subsidies in an attempt to promote the adoption of these technologies as a way of creating a circular economy. The urgency of climate change has never been greater, nor the moral case for responding to it more compelling. This review essay critically compares Darrel Moellendorf's Mobilizing Hope and Catriona McKinnon's Climate Change and Political Theory. Moellendorf's book defends the moral importance of poverty alleviation through sustainable economic growth and argues for a mass climate movement based on the promise of a more prosperous future. By contrast, McKinnon provides a political vocabulary to articulate the many faces of climate injustice, and to critically examine proposed policy solutions—notably including the indefinite pursuit of economic growth. While both find reasons to be hopeful, their wide-ranging accounts reflect different visions of what a just and sustainable future might look like. They reflect different understandings of sustainable development and the significance of environmental values; the scope of permissible climate activism; and the ethics of geoengineering. Building upon them, I argue in favor of a more pluralistic vision of a just climate future, one that is capable of speaking to the range of moral interests bearing upon the climate and biodiversity crises, and that supports sustainable development that is inclusive of diverse human-nature relationships. A growing worldwide consensus agrees that a global energy transition to renewable energy sources is urgent to avoid the direst consequences of rapid climate change. This transition is a substantial challenge facing humanity, which requires cooperation and innovation across disciplines and nations. In this context, the precise estimation of the renewable potential of a given area is valuable for decision-makers. Cities will play an essential role in this transition through distributed photovoltaic generation as evidenced by the UN 11 th sustainable development goal. However, the complex nature of cities makes this estimation a difficult problem. Recently, several machine learning approaches have successfully contributed to different aspects of the urban photovoltaic potential estimation problem. In the present manuscript, these proposals are summarized, following a hierarchical framework usually described in the literature, including the latest available research. Input and target variables involved in the discussed works are reclassified using a novel categorization. This categorization highlights interesting trends in the field, for each sub-problem in the hierarchical approach, which allows the identification of knowledge gaps and possible future lines of research. The present work presents other unexplored avenues and lists concisely the techniques and variables used for each estimation problem, facilitating improvements on already explored techniques or innovation on not yet explored avenues. Globally, cancer is one of the leading causes of death among men and women, it is characterized by the unregulated proliferation of tumor cells. Some of the common risk factors associated with cancer development include the consistent exposure of body cells to carcinogenic agents such as alcohol, tobacco, toxins, gamma rays and alpha particles. Besides the above-mentioned risk factors, conventional therapies such as radiotherapy, and chemotherapy have also been linked to the development of cancer. Over the past decade, tremendous efforts have been invested in the synthesis of eco-friendly green metallic nanoparticles (NPs), and their medical application. Comparatively, metallic NPs have greater advantages over conventional therapies. Additionally, metallic NPs can be functionalized with different targeting moieties e.g., liposomes, antibodies, folic acid, transferrin, and carbohydrates. Herein, we review and discuss the synthesis, and therapeutic potential of green synthesized metallic NPs for enhanced cancer photodynamic therapy (PDT). Finally, the advantages of green hybridized activatable NPs over conventional photosensitizers (PSs) and the future perspectives of nanotechnology in cancer research are discussed in the review. Furthermore, we anticipate that the insights offered in this review will inspire the design and development of green nano-formulations for enhanced image-guided PDT in cancer treatment. The sustainable development goals (SDGs), including 17 goals and 169 targets, were adopted unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. The aims are to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure peace, health, and prosperity of all people over the world. Toward the SDGs, human beings must effectively utilize the global resources, such as (1) oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, and so forth that supply us with water and aquatic resources; (2) land, ground, and soil where we can raise agricultural crops and livestock; (3) forests and woods that provide us with lumber and paper and convert carbon dioxide to oxygen; and (4) fossil fuel and mineral resources, which are essential to our modern lives. The use of macroporous ceramics is definitely conducive to the solutions to achieve the SDGs, because it can help solve many of the related technical issues. This review addresses macroporous ceramics primarily for filtration and purification, agriculture and fisheries industry, thermal managements, sensing devices, and constructions, which contribute to achieving SDGs. This study involves a meta‐analytical review of several articles, using the closest assumptions for the independent variable (renewable energy consumption), to determine the relationship with its environmental impacts. Furthermore, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) in 2015 pays attention to related problems in both developing and developed countries. The effects of carbon emissions, natural resources, renewable energy consumption, and non‐renewable energy on the environment are also reviewed. Following the separation of studies, the closest assumption was observed for the independent variable (energy source applications) of renewable energy. The meta‐analysis was obtained using OpenMEE and JASP, and the results show the observed outcome, which was expressed in percentage. Based on the analysis, the Renewable Energy model has a value of 0.15, with the largest forest plots of 0.73, 0.69, and 0.80, recorded for studies 13, 19, and 23, respectively, while the least forest plots were recorded for studies 6, 11, 12, 15, 20, 22, 24, 25, 26, and 28. Therefore, renewable energy consumption, specifically in the mining industry, has the capacity to influence global warming. The respective industry has a unique influence on the processes that require renewable energy, for instance, the coal mining industry produces a smaller forest plot value, compared to oil and gas, or other mineral industries.
