Abstract

An interview with Melanie Browne, manager of information services at Maple Leaf Foods in Toronto, Canada, is presented. When asked about her decision to write a contributed paper on "Communicating Value through Strategic Alignment," she states that libraries are facing a challenge due to questioning the need for information professionals. It is her opinion that it is important for the Special Libraries Association (SLA) to publish peer-reviewd journals as it would bring respect for librarians.
