Argues that the use of the Internet in libraries threatens the United States Federal Depository Library Program, which serves to make government information available to the public. How funding reductions resulted in the decision to halt the use of paper documents and disseminate them only online; Possible problems, including access, the lack of multiple authentic copies of documents and cost for agencies required to make their publications available on the Web.
