Abstract

The article offers information on the use of low-cost wireless sensors in fossil fuel power plants. Connecting sensors to a central location reportedly requires high cost. It discusses the testing of these sensors in the E.C. Gaston Electric Generating plant. The equipment used in testing were bought from Crossbow Inc. It describes the communication testing of motes which aimed to understand the battery life of motes. It presents information on the mesh network software.
