Abstract

The article provides an overview of the polyacrylamide (PAM) industry in China over the past 15 years. The country had been using PAM 20 years ago as an oil displacement agent in the tertiary oil recovery in the oil exploration industry. It notes that the fastest growing demand for PAM in the country came from water treatment and paper-making industries. It also states that China was considered as one of the world's leading PAM exporters despite dramatic growth in the production technology.
