Abstract

The article presents the changes induced by chemical potential at a gold (Au) film electrode with the use of the attenuated total reflectance surface-enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy (ATR-SEIRAS) sampling technique. The study was conducted using VeeMAX III of PIKE Technologies and an electrochemical cell. Vibrations observed in the ATR-SEIRAS spectrum of 4-methoxypyridine (MOP) confirmed the surface sensitivity of the measurement.
